EDIT: we enjoyed our dinner so much that we came a second day n a row and ordered the exact same meal ( shish tawook with salad instead of rice or pomme frites). The only difference would be that today we each got a glass of wine. One was the gruner veltliner and the other was the Lebanese white wine.Both Were delicious, however, the Lebanese was by far outstanding and a real winner. You should order that one. We were greeted warmly at the door and asked if we had a reservation, which we did not, that did not prevent us from getting a seat in the main dining area. Service was. good if a little inattentive at times. The ambience is very elegant and the windows overlooking the street as well as the soft lighting and very soft music as to the overall ambience. The food was delicious end of high quality however it could have been warmer upon arrival at the table. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, and I would return and make a recommendation for anyone looking for Lebanese cuisine in Vienna. Tasty, high quality, fresh food. Service a little slow. Waiter spoke english. Enjoyed cold appetizers: labneh, humus, okra. Husband liked the grape leaves and the stuffed eggplant. The eggplant tasted to me like olives. The pita was fresh but somewhat chewy. I enjoyed a dessert that was a rectangular bar of semolina in honey or rosewater, topped with cashews and pistachios. Our large party of 9 had a fantastic lunch at Al Zaytouna this past weekend. Ambiance is great and the restaurant is well decorated. The place can accommodate large groups which was good for us. Food is really delicious and portions are good. There are lots of options including vegan options. It's not the best Lebanese food I've had but it's a solid choice. Service is excellent and friendly. Food came out quickly. I can't comment on the prices since I didn't see the bill. We'll definitely return. read more

An exploration in flavors! Lebanese cuisine is an amalgam of exiting culinary cultures. Milk/ yoghurt drink was highly unusual and may not suit all taste buds. Falafel was excellent: great taste and not dry at all Roasted vegetables / pizza Alize's were a bit burnt on the Eve's: not healthy (acrylamid) but add to the flavor. Roasted Chicken was a tad dry but very tasty. Tabuli and all side dishes are fantastic. Lots of fresh herbs Dessert: glass noodles/ mozzarella dish was the true highlight. Delicious! Overall an exciting explosion of unusual flavors. Highly recommended for people wanting to taste something unusual in Vienna. Ambience was fine (linen tablecloths, paper napkins) Staff was very friendly, but a bit obtrusive. Prices are acceptable. Neither a bargain nor excessive. We will definitely go again. read more
