I called my insurance company while I was sitting in front of the employee and they said it was completely covered. I was told to have Eyecare Associates call my insurance's provider number - the employee (some blonde white woman) refused. multiple employees talked loudly back and forth across the room, where many customers were, about how I couldn't afford to pay what they thought I owed. I was eventually told that I could leave without my prescription since I legitimately didn't have the money, and they laughed at me as I walked away. Oh, and I'm disabled, which they knew, but one of them said "she's disabled - she says she is." So - my Love was furious (many people are furious about this), and called them to tell them to check again. They did (I mean, I had my insurance company on the phone in front of her, but whatever), and I got a call where she said that she had selected the wrong insurance plan and I in fact dont owe anything. I mean - I know, I told her that, I told her to call my insurance, but instead she laughed at me and talked loudly about how I'm poor. So I do NOT recommend eyecare associates, as they are the most rude and cruel people I have ever met.

Dr. Molly Tipton was my technician; she said they were short-staffed that day and she didn't normally do that job, but she was wonderful nonetheless. Dr. Rich McCurdy performed my exam and was very thorough, friendly yet professional. Afterwards, a lovely young woman named Maria helped me pick out some super cute new frames, and even made sure that the frames I picked were fully covered under my insurance! Overall, it was a great experience, and I highly recommend this clinic!

As an update to my 2023 appointment for new glasses: I recently had an eye exam at another facility…read moreand was given a new prescription that was supposed to be a minor tweak on my current glasses. I compared the new prescription to my latest prescription and it seemed more like a major change instead of a minor adjustment. Not being an expert, I went ahead and ordered the updated lenses from Rome Eye Care. When they came in and I put them on, the vision in my left eye was good but I could see better out of the right lens without the glasses. I figured I just had to wear them for a while to get used to them. After two weeks of constant wear, my vision was not any better out of the right eye. I returned to Rome Eye care and they read the lenses on their machine and confirmed they matched the prescription I had been given, which I figured they did. They agreed with me that the new prescription was a major change from the lenses I have been wearing since 2023. They said I should go back to the original clinic and have them recheck my eyes. The original office I went to could not give me a repeat exam until June. I let Rome Eye Care know that I wouldn't be back anytime soon so they weren't expecting a quick return. The very next day they called and said that Dr. Reeves said for me to come in and he would re-examine my eyes. A new exam was performed and it was found that the prescription I was given by the other optometrist was over corrected for the left eye and was even a bit stronger than I needed for the right eye. During his evaluation he was able to correct my prescription to give me 20/20 vision. I know this is kind of long, but the people at Rome Eye Care center are really great. Based on how quickly they accommodated the exam and the expert treatment I received, I will probably use them as my primary for eye care.
