Imagine this, you walk onto a beautiful white sand beach where waves of crystal clear water is washing across the shoreline and as far as the eye can see there are no other people in sight, the sun is out and the temps are in the low 80's this must be paradise or maybe a deserted island? This turned out to be quite the find especially in the off-season, it's rare to be able to enjoy such a place with an unobstructed view and isolation except for a few birds chasing sand crabs and bait fish. If you only focus on the beauty it hard to believe you're only a stone's throw from civilization. The only thing missing was a beach covered in beautiful shells and maybe a few well placed palm trees to add a little shade and some ambiance. Well there were some small shells and a slight breeze so I was happy happy happy to steal a line from Bob Ross, I think this is a scene he would of painted, maybe add a little "Yellow Ochre" and a touch of "Phthalo Blue" yeah I think those would complete the painting. There are a few amenities here, a restroom, a few pop machines and two extremely long board walks to get you from the parking lot to the sugar sand. I don't know if I've really ever experienced a perfect day I know I've been blessed to have had so many great ones but this is a bucket list place that I wasn't expecting. Great spot when looking for a beach in Orange Beach. Plenty of parking (paid) to find at this location and easy on/off access to the highway. Amenities include onsite restrooms, picnic shelters, and usually a few food trucks for refreshments. You do have to walk for a little ways to get to the actual beach so those who have mobility issues might want to pass on this location. Once you get to the beach though, beautiful white sugar sand will be waiting for you. I was very impressed with the beach, very clean and awesome sand quality. The waves were a little rough on the day that we went but there is a side off of the gulf that is adjacent to the canal that has calmer water if you want to go swimming. The canal offers fun views of various boats going in and out of the harbor. Lifeguards are sometimes on duty at this location but not all of the time. This beach is basically in the middle of the action in OB. You are within a short distance of many great restaurants, shops, and bars and the Florida state line. Beach was never too crowded when we went and that was at the height of Spring Break season. Great time at the ocean! read more

That last review I saw saids you don't pay parking it's a lie. Now you have to pay. Good part it if you leave you can come back just don't discard the receipt. The receipt is a whole day for $10.00. Beautiful white sand and the water is cool not freezing cold. read more

This is a pretty area where you can just sit and relax, watch the birds, fish and watch a plethora of water vehicles traverse the narrow passage from the Gulf of Mexico to the lagoons of Orange Beach and the intercoastal waterway. We just spent the morning on Gulf Shore beach watching the sunrise, then breakfast by the beach and now at the point watching the majestic heron fishing while the boats come in & out in the morning sun. Perfect for a day swimming. It was a double red flag day so we headed here for claimer waters and it was perfect! Paid for your parking $5 4 hrs if I remember correctly. We can early and it started to full up by the time we left at noon. They also have sand toys when you enter the beach. read more

Alabama Point East - A Gulf State Park Beach is a beautiful place to explore and enjoy. It is so much fun to just be able to pull into this beautiful area, take a walk and enjoy the beach, the water and the breathtaking scenery. Alabama Point is located near the Perdido Pass Bridge. You can walk under it to the marina and nearby restaurants. This spot has boardwalks heading across the dunes which are perfect for exploring while protecting and preserving the area. There are nice covered tables for picnicking along with restrooms. The area is clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the spot and I think you will too. read more

What a fun find. We took our two young boys here and had a blast. The water isn't very deep and they can go out a little bit. There are waves when boats drive by but nothing with a strong undertow. The boats stayed on their side of the bouys .. even the pirate ship that sailed by. The current was strong down stream so we did have to remind them not to "float" to far down. There is always a current at the beach. The area was clean. There is a life guard on duty. There was a bucket and sign area for "shared sand toys" which is cute and handy so you don't have to lug a bunch of sand toys. The parking is free. There is a bath house with clean indoor restrooms (no indoor showers) There are also two shower areas to wash off sand. There were several boardwalks to explore. This was a nice family friendly beach area. We will be returning. read more

Alabama Point East is a public beach that we went to during our vacation in Orange Beach! This is the prettiest beach here and is the best of the best as far as public beaches go. One bonus about this beach is that the parking is free! All the other beaches I have been to require that you pay, but not this one! Outside of the beach they have flags that say what the conditions of the water are for that day. The day we went, the conditions were not as ideal with red and purple flags. To get to the beach, there is a long boardwalk which is around 1/4 of a mile long. There are often food trucks and snow cone trucks parked in front of it for a sweet treat! After you get past the board walk, there is beautiful sand and clear blue waters! The water is perfect to swim in and the perfect place to lay out in the sun. We love this beach as it is not super crowded because not too many people know about it! It is very beautiful and the perfect place to spend any beach day. read more

One of the prettiest beaches around ! Traveling east over Perdido Pass Bridge you'll see it, but going west, one may easily miss. Impeccably pristine area, showers, public restrooms, and parking. A long walk on a wooden boardwalk over the dunes will leave you with a choice to either enjoy the somewhat sheltered and calmer cooler water side to the right or to the left of the jetty you can enjoy the Direct gulf and surf at its finest. This beach was Definitely worth a stop! (plus for lunch/dinner and since you're in the hood, HIGHLY recommend "The Gulf" restaurant located directly across the water/inlet side of State Beach, on the west side of bridge) read more

Great beach. Be sure to take the right walkway. Then, turn left and walk all the way down to where it curves almost to the gulf. It's a great little inlet with crystal clear waters. Not too busy. If you go around the corner more to the gulf it's busier and the water is a lot more rough. Hidden gem! read more

You'll hate this beach. Skip it. Don't go. The parking lot is way too small. You can get stuck in that thick sand. For real, it happened to me one time. Be careful parking on the sides of the parking lot. They don't have bathrooms, just a couple of porta potties in the parking lot. There are no outdoor showers, so expect a sandy vehicle when you leave. Honestly, that's where the bad stuff ends. The rest of the beach, well, it's amazing! It's seriously my favorite beach spot on the entire Gulf Coast. It's never crowded (thanks to that terrible parking lot). The thick white sand and emerald/cobalt water are almost always pristine. There is a lifeguard on duty. There are usually several parachuters, parasailers, and a helicopter flying over. This is the beach I've always enjoyed with my family, and it's still our favorite. My sister-in-law "discovered" it the other day and I knew exactly what beach she was telling me about when she described it with excitement in her voice. Yesterday my hubs and I were out in that gorgeous clear water swimming when we saw a fin about 100 feet from us. Then we saw another fin. Just about the time we started to ease back to the shoreline, we saw tail fins as 3 dolphins began porpoising in and out of the water! It was spectacular! That's the first time I've ever knowingly swam that close to dolphins. I really hate that I just gave up the favorite local spot for beachgoers. Please save me one good spot in the parking lot! read more
