It was a great place to go and get away from the college stress. My obvious favorites were bottle feeding the pigs and feeding the alpacas. It was always exciting to come each time hoping to see some baby animals. Tuscaloosa Barnyard also has themes and activities throughout the year like a pumpkin patch in October, lighting up the farm in December and Easter Egg hunts in April. It's not just fun for little kids, but also college students as well. They do sorority events like bonfire nights with s'mores and their farm is big with tons of photo opportunities. Writing this review makes me miss this place so much!! Some of my best memories of college were spent here.

Honestly, most of the questions that were being asked are basic biology questions that I would hope someone working with animals would know. That was disappointing. You cannot take videos at this facility and I can only assume it's because they do not want evidence of the animals behavior (or lack there of) being seen. The gift shop is one of the worst I've seen in a park like this. Everything is 5x the purchase price of any online retailer. I understand the money comes back to the animals so there is an up charge, but $70 for two stuffed animals and a magnet is crazy.

Our vehicle was approached by llamas, zebras, buffalo, and deer seeking food from the buckets we had purchased in the gift shop. The animals roam freely throughout the hundreds of acres. The camels tried to grab the entire bucket of food! We had to hold the buckets tightly while they ate from them. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful, happy to discuss the various animals. The entire experience was very educational. We spent several hours here and truly would have enjoyed staying the entire day if we could have, but had previously scheduled another engagement. We want to return and bring other friends along for the experience.
