My meal was very tasty. My friends pitza was difficult to eat because it was too limp. But, there was a couple of kids in the restaurant with there parents presumably. They were very loud and unruly. My husband and I had an early dinner at Aladdin's. I've been wanting to try it for a while and can't believe we waited to so long. My husband is a picky eater but loved the hummus and falafel. He ordered the curry chicken pita with a couple of adjustments and thought it was great. I was very happy with the hummus and falafel as well. We were full from the appetizers before our food arrived, so I definitely suggest ordering small for all of the appetizers if your party is small. This place was one of very few that were open on Easter Sunday, during the COVID-19 pandemic, no less. For that, I am grateful. Dolmas (they call them Dawali) weren't good at all (to me). The grape leaves were too tough and they lacked flavor. The hummus was good; the baba ghanoush, however, was phenomenal. Falafel was pretty good on its own, but once you slap on some hummus and baba g, then wrap it in the pita and drizzle their homemade hot sauce atop, it becomes delicious. Spicy Cauliflower was delicious, but on no planet would they be considered spicy. Like, not even by a long shot. Fortunately for me, I bought side orders of their homemade hot sauce and dipped the flowers in there. Now it's a party! They give you tons of pita bread with your order, so no worries in that regard. My main complaint is that some things were overpriced. For what they charge for the non-spicy cauliflower, I expected twice the portion. When I went in to get my carry out order, I noticed that they had vegan desserts on display. We mainly enjoyed our experience here last night. The restaurant itself is a nice, clean establishment with a spacious dining room and huge windows overlooking the strip mall parking lot and surrounding Oakley neighborhood. The waitstaff were completely attentive and friendly, always making the rounds to every table when serving orders. The food for the most part was extremely tasty. We savored the hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli and fatayer veggie appetizers. The tahini, garlic and spicy sauces made for great condiments too. But unfortunately, there were a couple major culinary missteps that put a bit of a damper on the meal. The falafel, while incredibly flavorful, was hella salty. I found myself trying to rehydrate right up til bedtime. Finally, the lamb in the Mediterranean dish was charred to a crisp. That was a total dealbreaker for me. Even the delicious spiced rice couldn't hide the burnt flavor of the meat. So disappoint.... I kinda (hopefully) chalk this to a one-off experience. Definitely will give this place another try based on the comfortable atmosphere, fine service and array of meal options. We also forgot to leave room in our stomachs for some of the plethora of desserts from a large display case by the front counter. I went to Hyde Perk and noticed that there was another Aladdin's restaurant, so I decided to check it out, and it was defiantly worth it. The place is very comfortable and welcoming. Calm atmosphere with friendly staff who make your visit even better. The waitress was very kinda, cheerful and attentive. I ordered a the Great Lakes beer, and it was better than anticipated. I would of love to see some Mediterranean beers on the menu but the had a good variety. To eat we got the Alibaba pizza and the Shish kabob plate. I cant stop raving about the baklava. I grew up in a Greek Neighborhood in Queens, NY and my spouse is from a Greek family. So we are both spoiled by some really good baklava in our life. But I can honestly say this is some of the BEST baklava I've had in a long time. We stopped here on our way downtown. The parking was tight and traffic was heavy in the restaurants area. We have been to the other location and liked it. We tried different things this time but next time will stick with what we normally get hummas, tabuli and pitas. We started with Sfiha which was ok. It was like a spicy hamburger mix in a grilled pita. I say ok because we were expecting more of a dip like the hummus or tabuli. I would get it again just maybe not as an appetizer. I had the Aladdin favorite combo that came with a salad and pasta (looked like rice) and three different meats. Really good. My husband ordered Jasmines favorite with tuna. The tuna was way overcooked and dry. The dish description was a little misleading because it starts out with beans as an ingredient and he likes beans but it was mainly rice with a few other veggies mixed in. We should have known better since it was called Jasmine. I offered to switch plates with him since I suggested his to him but he choked it down complaining with every bite. Poor customer service experience I'm not surprised the parking lot was full but this restaurant was empty. I was greeted by a polite gentleman initially. While reading the menu another person walked up and said nothing never a hello nor would you like help deciding. Eventually I look up and say hello. Then finished perusing the menu. I got the Sultan's Shawarma Pitza. The meat didn't taste fresh to me. It was over seasoned and dry. I couldn't finish it. The pitza was a good portion though. The rating looked excellent and we all love Lebanese food/Mediterranean style food. The appetizers were super delicious, we tried to get one of each. Our group had a variety of food allergies and the lady who took our order went above and beyond to not only help us quickly find the yummiest "must try" items on the menu but also took the time to talk us through minor recipe modifications to work around our gluten and dairy allergies. We felt immediately cared for and it was evident all the staff really knows and loves this place. We will definitely recommend to anyone in the area!! I was next door getting my nails done and I decided I would order here for takeout. I saw that they had Lebanese style pizzas and I was intrigued. The pitza wasn't nasty but by no means was it extraordinary. I believe that it was supposed to come with cheese and they forgot it but I'm cool with that. I should probably be dairy free anyway. Thanks to my Chowdown Cincinnati family, I went into my first Mediterranean/ Lebanese experience with NO FEAR!!! ...... everything was absolutely delicious. Everyone's recommendations were on point. All the pictures have the names of the dishes we ordered. Food wise what stood out the most was the amazingly tender chicken and the BAKLAVA, OMG the Baklava was thee freshest most delicious baklava I've ever put in my mouth. Not only that, they had 4 different types, the lady fingers & the original walnut were my fave...Aside from the food being amazing there was 1 thing that stood out the most.... There nice gentleman that greeted us!!! He warmed my heart, he spoke to us like we were royalty and "Our wish was his command" so to say ... it really set the tone for how the rest of our night went!!! I've been to the OTR Aladdin's location before, but this was my first time I had the Hyde Park Location. When I dropped by, I was quickly greeted and taken to a booth. The restaurant wasn't too crowded during the lunch out (during the week). I ordered "Aladdin's Favorite Combo." The dish consists of: Beef Kafta, Shish Kabob, and Shish Tawook on a bed of seasoned brown rice with vermicelli, served with greens, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and choice of dressing. Everything was pretty good, except the rice which was a little bland. I started with the hummus, which was great. I would recommend asking for the garlic and hot sauces on the side as well to kick it up a bit. The prices are pretty reasonable and you can sample a decent amount of food for not too much money.
