This cab service is run by kind and thoughtful gentlemen, I recommend this cab service highly and I can say that I will be loyal to this company for as long as I live in Alameda after my first experience using them. I needed a cab to pick up my 11 year old son from school and bring him home today because I had to work later than the time he got off school, but would be home shortly after. We have recently moved here from the east coast where there are school buses to and from school for all students, and not having transportation for my son is a real problem since I have to work. This company was easy to work with; they allowed me to call ahead and make plans, pay by phone so all my son had to do was ride without responsibility or fear, and they were on time and conscientious in following through with the plans we made. Not only did they provide this excellent service but they went far above and beyond what I expected - my son told me how nice the driver was to him, he said he told him since he was new in town he wanted to show him the area sights, and drove him to a point where he could see a battleship and had a quick view of the golden gate bridge, which was only slightly out of the way of our house. My son was delighted, at ease, and happy - and VERY excited to tell me the story when I got home. I am more than pleased with this cab service. Five stars all the way. They have my business for life. Super timely, curteous service. I made a scheduling mistake and told him the wrong date for pickup, and didn't realize it until he showed up. I felt awful but the dispatcher was understanding. A horrible taxi service in Alameda... I had booked taxi 2 days before to airport. The taxi didn't show up at first. I called, he told me he'll be there in 5 minutes. No show even after 15 minutes, I called again. They sent me another cab, a yellow van from another cab company. The driver was rude and didn't seem to be aware of anything that was going on. The cab driver was reeking of alcohol and was driving recklessly. I do not recommend this to anybody. Really poor service !!! read more

I have been using their service for two years already whenever I need to go to airport! Raman is punctual and would text me the day before to confirm the date and time. I remembered one time my flight was delayed and it took us more than a hour to get our luggage and passed the U.S. custom. Raman was patient enough to wait for about 2 hours before we walked out the airport. I thought he was gonna charge me more money than the set amount we agreed to, but no! He charged me the same amount although he was waiting for 2 hours in airport! What could I ask for more? I would highly recommend this service to everyone who needs a ride! read more

I called this company for a ride from the West Oakland Bart to my home in Alameda when I was being dropped there by megabus. Well I wish I called someone else. When I called they said it would be $10-$15 and it was $15 when I took a cab there a few weeks ago. I am from Alameda and know how to get there from this area. The driver headed towards a entry for a tunnel to get over to Alameda and it was closed. This is common during this time of night and there are a couple other places you can get in a tunnel and head over by just driving down the same street a few blocks or back tracking. But instead he headed onto the expressway and went down to nearly the other side of Alameda. I was getting annoyed but when he got off the exit I recognized where we were and it wasn't far enough out of the way to get to upset, as long as he stayed on this road. But he did not. He took a right onto a bridge that goes away from my home, drove around some side streets and took us completely out of the way. Now seeing that it was clearly intentional I asked him about it and he basically mumbled that the tunnel was closed and this was the fastest way. There is not a whole lot to do at that point except not tip him and write a yelp review. The ride ended up being over $29. Nearly double what it should be. After thinking about it I figured he knew that entrance of the tunnel was closed, after all he is a cab driver in Alameda and it is common for it to be. He most likely thought it'd be a good excuse to take us out of the way and build up a bigger fare. read more

We got a room for the night near the train station that we couldnt wait to get out of. Hubby made reservations elsewhere while I googled "taxis" and kept getting wrong numbers, hubby got lucky and called Alameda City Cab. He said he would be there in 10 minutes and he was. Very friendly, loaded our luggage, great driver, waited at the other hotel with no charge to ensure we had a room. Next morning caught hotel shuttle to rental car. Called Alameda City Cab and asked if we could reserve him to meet us at 830pm at rental car return and take us back to Jack London. He was again on time, professional, courteous, made intelligent and appropriate conversation. Same cab, clean and comfortable. I cant think of anything more i would want from a cab service. I recently used Alameda City Cab for a ride from Alameda to the Oakland airport. The cab came quickly, the driver was pleasant and the cab was clean. I've seen a few negative reviews about a female driver but my driver was a male and could not have been nicer. After dropping me at the airport I realized that I didn't have change to tip the sky cap. I went back to the cab and asked the driver for change which he had. I originally wrote a review of Alameda City Cab a few years back after a horrible experience with another company which has often been confused with this one, HOWEVER, ACC is one of a kind! Since our first trip years ago with Ruby from Alameda to SFO, we have never used another cab company for our trips. We usually travel with several family members and accompanying luggage, yet Ruby at the time and now Raman and his wife, have always been extremely professional, friendly and prompt. Regardless of whether we travel domestically or internationally, upon returning to the Bay Area, I can always count on ACC to monitor our inbound flights to ensure that our family is promptly picked up from the airport. Airport travel is often a daunting, exhaustive experience so when we finally get back to SFO it is comforting to know that a trusted driver from Alameda City Cab is patiently waiting to safely take us home. I'm from Alameda and have had several bad experiences with taxi companies but I can honestly not thank ACC enough for their great response to our recent travel dilemma. I contacted Raman a few wks back to request a pick up from SFO to Alameda. I was traveling with my family and two children and was very stressed about the fact that our intl flight was delayed 3-4 hrs, would be arriving close to 4:00am and I had no way to contact ACC to see if they could still pick us up. Thank goodness that they were soooo efficient and not only had they tracked our flight and called me as soon as we arrived, but the driver let us know that although unusual for them to pick up at that hour, Raman wanted to ensure that a driver would be waiting for us as ACC is all about making sure they take care of their customers. It had been an extremely long day for everyone (including our driver I'm sure)and I am very grateful for ACCs efficiency, consideration and professionalism.
