Ever since Pandoria came in as the manager here, things that have needed to be fixed are getting done. They have really made an effort to address the issues that seemed to be "forgotten about" or just never addressed at all With previous management personnel. She is very communicative with us residents and follows up with any maintenance issues even if that means she has to work later or come in on a Saturday. I've been living at Alameda Park Apartments for 5 years, and I've really seen the improvement since Ms. Pandoria became the property manager. She's respectful, professional, and actually takes the time to make sure tenants are informed and taken care of. Anytime there's an issue, it gets handled quickly. Notices are sent out immediately so everyone's always in the loop. Since she stepped in, there have been major upgrades around the property. The trash and recycle bins were replaced and are way more organized now. She also started upgrading the apartments with new dishwashers and microwaves, which we never had before. It shows that she's investing in making the living experience better for everyone. It's a peaceful and clean place to live, and a big part of that is thanks to the way Ms. Pandoria manages the community. You can really tell she cares. read more

Have lived here since 2014 with my partner, now wife and mother of our son. We have lived in both floor plan units this property has to offer: 1 bdrm and 2 bdrm. Overall layout for this property is lovely and peaceful. Courtyard and swimming pool in both front (547) and back (549) complexes. Laundry room is shared and onsite, there are 3 laundry-rooms at your convenience! Do love how convenient this apartment property is is by Webster street for eateries, gas stations, Target, college of Alameda, the street that the property lies on can get busy due to schools around and also other apartments. The property was managed by Antoinette. She was a sweet lady at first but eventually gets rude if things do not go her way, she was also not that great with kids as she would send us mass txt warning parents to keep their children. Gratefully, Tameka is now the current manager and she is wonderful! You can tell she puts life into the apartment complex by adding decors for the seasons by the mailroom! It meant a lot to us that she even remembers our son's name, so she is very keen to details! She is very responsive to your needs and maintenance requests! Juan the handy man/Janitor also lives onsite so rest assured your maintenance request will not take too long. 1bdrm - extremely spacious! The size of the living room and bedroom are almost the same! Good closet space 2bedrm - had to upgrade due to expecting a child. Kitchen is definitely bigger than single bdrm unit, bedrooms are smaller than 1 bdrm units, living is still relatively big Storage units in parking lots available at extra costs and definitely handy if you need to store. Additional parking can also be offered at extra cost but also limited. Do inquire about them during lease signing! We had to move to a bigger place (house) due to needing more room for our child. We had a lovely wonderful time at Alameda Park Apartments. The manager Tameka, staff Juan and Petey are amazing! Fast, very helpful, professional, and very friendly. Always felt like they were watching out for us :) Our neighbors and community there were wonderful, so kind and friendly. A very family feel. The value there is top notch. APA is a gem of a place to live, we were there for at least 3 years. It is also walking distance to the beach, dock and many nearby parks. The weather is also great year round. And it is very safe and feels safe there too. We totally recommend APA to anyone. We moved to a larger space for our growing family. Definitely go check em out in person. If you are looking for a quiet and safe apartment complex in Alameda, look no further. Most of the time our complex stays very mellow. New laundry machines that are operated by an iphone app, which is COOL. The property is run by a fantastic property manager named Tameka. She is one tough cookie, but thanks to her there is no funny business and the lawn/garden is in top notch quality. If you are a chill person that keeps to yourself, then welcome. This is the worst complex ever to live in and I think that the manager is screwing the owner by increasing the attrition rate to make the highest number of commissions from turnovers - watch out, do not be a victim of the two faced office lady! 16 tenants have reached out within the past month cause they could not voice their concerns directly to the owner, therefore - I felt obligated to create this public Facebook group to give everyone voice, keep everyone accountable, and transparent. The new(ish) property manager, Tameka, is amazing. She took over while my new small family lived there for a different manager. She quickly learned everyone's name. She is highly responsive to questions and issues. She greeted my 2 year old with "Hey best friend!" Every time she saw her. She even had snacks and treats stored in her office and came out to us while the little one was playing and offered her a popsicle on a hot day. My neighbors were friendly. I know there are some negative comments about living here but as a former resident I know for a fact they are in regard to the old manager, and not the new one (Tameka). I was a resident at APA for 4.5 years, during both manager's tenure. While I do not wish to comment on the former manager's style, I can say with certainty that Tameka (the current) is absolutely amazing. She has completely turned the complex around. She is very responsive with respect to tenant concerns, and the handyman (Juan) is an amiable guy who is very professional and does stellar work. She is kind and runs a tight ship. The complex is clean and quiet and extremely friendly to children and pets. My youngest adored swimming in the pool on hot summer days, and the well-kept courtyard area was a blessing during lockdown (we would recline on the grass and read or have picnic dinners). I've seen other parents play with their children in the common area and enjoy the lawn. It is a great place for children. Tameka has organized a few events during the holidays (Easter egg hunts, Halloween gifts) that really bring the community together. During Christmas, the complex was decorated in a classy fashion complete with Christmas tree in the front entryway. The apartments are whisper quiet--in over those four years, I do not think I heard my neighbors once (although they were both very respectful). The apartments are spacious -- I think the two bedrooms were the largest (with the most closest space) I've ever had in my twelve years of renting in Alameda. The property is safe and the tenants are all wonderful, I plan on staying in touch with many of them even though I've moved across town. I cannot stress how much Tameka has done for Alameda Park Apartments. I am absolutely going to miss being there, and only moved because we needed a three bedroom. I have lived here almost 5 years, the management has always been friendly but firm on everyone following the rules. It's made this complex a nice, safe place to live. The apartments are large, you do have to be diligent on preventing mildew (we live on an island), but they are clean and in good shape. I lived at Alameda Park Apartments for three years and it was a wonderful time. The courtyards and pool are always maintained and tidy, there's a Luxor locker system that makes lost/stolen packages a non-issue, and it's nice and quiet. I'm pretty sure we were the loudest tenants there, and as far as I know, we didn't have any complaints, so the walls aren't paper thin like some buildings I've been in. There were two laundry rooms in our side of the two-building complex, so it wasn't too bad trying to get laundry done when you needed it. Tameka and Juan were incredible to have as the building manager and maintenance manager respectively. They were always on top of service and maintenance issues and were always so friendly and professional. We were sad to leave the community, and we miss it, but our Alameda adventure was over and it was time to move on. I can't recommend them enough. read more

She had it checked and decided to replaced it with a brand new one. And also we got a new refrigerator. I am thankful of how fast they respond to our complaints. I loved living here and would highly recommend it! Antoinette and Barry are great - very responsive and empathetic, wonderful neighbors, too. They handle everything well and quickly. We lived in a huge 1BR (you have to see the size of the bedroom and wall-to-wall closet!) and only left because of a job change. The courtyard is beautiful, two nice pools, very convenient gated parking, big trash/recycling area, plenty of laundry...I could go on and on. And on top of that, it's great to live just off Webster in Alameda. A stone's throw from plenty of fun stuff (Jack London Sq, Lake Merritt, Park St in Alameda, o.co coliseum, etc, SF, etc) but shockingly quiet and suburban. Really convenient shopping center with Safeway, Target and many restaurants nearby, excellent dim sum at East Ocean around the corner, and it's really easy for commuting as all the highways are just across the tunnel. This review is in regards to seeing the property, not living here. Recently I came to check out their 2-bdrm. The property manager was a very nice guy, and the unit was spacious and impressive. Plenty of closet space, updated kitchen--honestly, the best I've seen in Alameda thus far. I was ready to turn in my application but there were some ominous signs that held me back. The cleaning guy (I assume was the cleaning guy because he was walking around leisurely with a garbage bag, looking for trash) walked by my car after I got in to leave. He circled my car (creepy!!) and even banged his trash bag against my trunk. Why he did this I have no idea, there was plenty of room in the lot, but it was creepy. It felt like a pitbull circling me, trying to establish his territory...!! And he did this while looking me in the EYES. Okay if that's the janitor then I definitely don't want to see him again. Or worse, what if he's a tenant!? Hello, I'm a female! Tiny and unprotected. Stay away! Then as I pull out the driveway and pass the metal gate, there is a man getting out of his car and zipping up his pants. A scantily clad female gets out of the backseat of same car and walks off... ugh... huh?! This car was parked right in front of the apartment complex. WOW. No shame in his game. Broad daylight too. Now I know that this guy probably isn't even a tenant, but it makes me uncomfortable knowing that people are comfortable doing this sort of thing around this property in daylight hours, no less. Seriously, it was a beautiful apartment and I was so looking forward to living here. The manager really seemed like a nice guy! But the surrounding people just make me really uneasy. I might as well live on east 14th if this is the norm. But if this sort of thing didn't bother me (and I am picky, I admit... I do scare easily at the sight of hookers, weirdos, and crazy-eyes) then I would live here in a heartbeat. read more

Yelp is a place for ANY ONE to review their experience...I wish there were reviews to read before I moved here so I could have made an informed and BETTER decision. To be clear, and correct me if I'm wrong, Alameda Park Apartments does not help tenants with ANYTHING past the office time (9-5), even though the manager LIVES on site. The manager has left tenants outside of their apartments locked out and trying to figure out how to get in- if its "after hours". Tenants have been left to bang on the door all night (waking everyone else up) to finally have someone call the police. One past tenant I've spoken with has STILL not received their deposit returned after move out and it's been 3 months!!! All and all, these sites (Yelp, etc.) are made for CONSUMERS to make well informed decisions. I personally WAS NOT happy here and it doesn't look like anyone else is by the amount of positive reviews! read more

I moved in here since July/August of 2013. Let me just start off that my room mate and I are delighted to be here. I'm not sure what the other folks that gave this place a bad rating are experiencing, because I've been living here for almost a year and I have not had those experiences. The experience I have had here are pretty positive. True that parking can get a little hectic, but my room mate and I can always find parking spaces. The furthest we have parked from the apartment was 3 blocks away, but I've done worse. It's only when you come home late at night and obviously, everyone is home and settled in. The manager here, Mike, has been awesome and a pleasure to interact with. Every time I have seen him, he always says hi with a huge fat smile on his face. I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment this morning and went to his office, he just walked with me over to my place and opened my door. No muss, no fuss. There was a time when one of the sprinklers was broken and shot water up to the second level. It wasn't that big of a deal and not getting anything wet, so I emailed management about this and express that it wasn't that big of a deal since nothing was getting wet, and minutes later, they came and turned off the water. It was pretty late at night as well as I recall. I wasn't expecting that, but they were on it and ready to address any concerns I have. Neighbors around my building are pretty reserved and quiet. I have not heard any peep from any of them. One thing you gotta know about me, I'm a social butterfly, so it's hard for me when the neighbors rarely look you in the eye and say hi. But hey, this is how the community here is. I work at home most of the time so quietness is good for me to concentrate. They just repainted the walls inside the building and it looks pretty good. There's a pool in the building as well, but it's not being use much since it's not heated, but during hot days, you bet there's going to be noises there coming from me. Would give this place a 5 stars if the pool could get heated but can't win them all. In the end, the quietness, awesome managers, and nice living space, I am very comfortable here. I had to move out of my old apartment immediately 3 months ago and had a hard time finding a new place. I met Tameka in March and she was AWESOME. I am big on who is running things and was leery in renting a new apartment because I have heard horror stories about property managers. Not only was the apartment a great fit for me and my husband but I knew from the first time I met Tameka that her management and leadership would be excellent. I was right. I was told Tameka is the new and improved property manager here and I am very glad I get to experience her management rather than the previous. She is extremely attentive to the tenants' needs and she goes above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable and have no issues in your living space. Furthermore, she does fun things for the tenants like have Easter egg hunts for the kids in the building or do giveaways for tenants to win prizes. In addition, our maintenance extraordinaire Juan is always on top of things as well. He is very personable and more than pleasant to be around and together they make sure this building is in tip top shape and that those who live here have everything they need. Rarely do you find people who do more than just what they HAVE to in their position. Tameka has a clear passion for people and we are blessed to live in a building that is under her management. I never feel like Tameka is simply a property manager but rather a very relatable person I can talk to about anything and even share a laugh with. Whenever folks ask me about how I'm liking the new apartment, I am always sure to brag about the awesome manager I have, so much so that a few of my friends are interested in moving here too! read more

I love living here for a few reasons. - The place is clean; Barry the maintenance professional walks the grounds every morning with a bag and a picker, grabbin trash. - They replaced our Pool with a new beautiful one. - I feel safe with the new HD cameras watching every corner. Antionette the LandLady cares about her tenants, and is available even when you lock yourself out of the apartment at 11:30 on a Work night... (sorry about that A.) - My neighbors are quiet, respectful when Passing by, and too freaking good at cooking. I'm hungry every time I come home partially because it's the end of the day, and partially because the lady in Apartment 201 is an amazing cook. - There are kids that play in the courtyard, bringing youth to our community. As of right now, the kids maintain themselves really well and aren't very loud, and always say Hi to me when I walk by. - Turnover is pretty low, which means that I get to know my neighbors and we try and keep eachother safe. Overall, there are many positive reasons to live here. It's nice to see a LandLady who takes our rent checks and improves our housing with it, instead of just holding onto the cash. read more

Definitely due your due diligence before signing a lease here. Try to find some reviews of this place or talk to current tenets. The apartments are a pretty good size, I think some are updated more then others. One secure parking spot per apartment. Would be a decent place to live if you could get property management to respond and take care of things that fall under their responsibilities. Renting is hit or miss.... bad management or neighbors can make or break your living experience. do your own research, but based on my own experience I cannot with good conscience recommend living here. read more

I lived in a 1 bedroom apartment with my fiance for 2 years starting in summer of 2015, and would definitely recommend living here. The on-site staff (Antoinette, Barry) are incredibly accommodating and are always prompt and reliable when needed (not to mention very warm and approachable!). The apartment is quite spacious (especially the bedroom), and has a lot of character (built-in linen closet, wall-length closet). The location is within walking distance of great food and drink on Webster St, and is a 5 minute walk from several transbay and oakland-alameda AC transit bus lines. My wife and I applied for an apartment, paid the $30 per person fee and NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN! Mike seemed very nice to me and said he could verify everything in a day or so. I've not rented here so I can't vouch for them as landlords but the Manager Mike is a pretty cool and professional guy when i came in to look at the place for my friend. My friend needed more flexible lease terms and it didn't work out but dealing with Mike was a pleasure. Returns calls promptly. I can only imagine being a tenant there would be nice. Only reason for 4 stars at this point is there is only one parking space and then street parking which there are alot of other apts in the area that would be fighting for parking and alot of street cleaning signs as well.
