Pip Coffee + Clay is one of the most unique coffee shops I've visited in Phoenix. The space is…read morebright, welcoming, and filled with local art, handmade ceramics, and fun little details that make you want to slow down and look around. Every corner feels thoughtfully designed, from the colorful seating to the vintage decor and handmade pottery available for purchase. I ordered the iced chai, and it was perfectly balanced with great spice flavor without being overly sweet. We also tried the matcha, which was smooth, creamy, and beautifully layered. The drinks were made quickly and looked just as good as they tasted. Beyond the coffee, this is an amazing place to support local artists. They had handcrafted mugs, planters, pottery, ceramics, cross-stitch kits, and other gifts throughout the shop. The atmosphere is quiet enough to work, catch up with friends, or simply relax with a drink. There are plenty of tables, large windows with natural light, and comfortable seating throughout. The staff was friendly, and the entire café was clean and inviting. Parking was easy, and I appreciated how much personality the space has compared to a typical coffee chain. If you're looking for a local coffee shop in Phoenix with excellent coffee, matcha, chai, unique gifts, handmade pottery, and a cozy creative atmosphere, Pip Coffee + Clay is absolutely worth visiting. I'll definitely be back.

This is the absolute worst experience I've had attempting to make pottery. The instructor spent an…read morehour demonstrating how she makes pottery and then basically said go for it. As a complete novice, I was totally lost. I tried multiple times on my own but no luck. I asked for help multiple times and got general advice. I was the ONLY one that couldn't make anything, yet the instructor didn't seem to either notice or to care. I eventually looked up my own video on how to do this and still wasn't able to. The instructor said she would be happy to help one on one, yet I was the was one who clearly needed help, she was and just made her own pottery. I feel demoralized and humiliated. I left this experience in tears.

On a Friday night, Kings Beer & Wine was my last stop of the evening. And I'm glad it was. Located…read morein Midtown in a strip center, while I walked over, if you're driving, you won't have any problems parking in the shopping center's complimentary lot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical dive bar. Casual. Some seating at the bar and some high tops. Some pinball machines in the back. And one cool thing they do is that it's also a liquor store. So, you can make it your watering hole and also your supply for when you leave the bar. Service (4/5): I went to the bar and was greeted promptly. Received my beer, the bartender checked in on me, and I closed out pretty effortlessly. A smooth service experience. Food (N/A): I was on a liquid diet, and as far as I could tell, they didn't have any food anyways. Drinks (4.5/5): I didn't know this going in, but when I walked in, and I saw pink elephants, I knew I was in the right place. Pink elephants, you say?! Yes, indeed. Pink elephants represent delirium tremens, my favorite beer. You can't find it in a lot of places, but this Belgian beer is a treat. They have it on tap at Kings. That makes it a winner in my book alone. While derlirium is all you need, they have a nice selection of beers, both craft and international. Cool spot.

I've been coming here for a while now and I'm still surprised I can always walk in and get a seat. I haven't been anywhere that has more taps, and their variety is off the chain. If you're in a mixed taste relationship like me (a strong preference for fruity sours, lactofermentation, nutty stouts, and atypical combos) and my husband (Colorado IPA drinker with a discerning palate), this is the spot. Great service (Bri, if you see this, we love you), great selection, and the best taproom in town for bringing your own food. I like the casual atmosphere and appreciate how I haven't been intimidated despite the big menu--I'm just welcome. This is a regular date night in my house, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
