This is not a walkijg tour, but some walking is involved to get on the tram and to ride to/from the factory site. We did this tour as a homeschool field trip and our kids also enjoyed it.

An introduction is given, then you load into a little bus and head over to the plant. Each area was described, stopping multiple times to view the work put in to making the Tundra and Sequoia vehicles. There were automated, driverless delivery vehicles, taking parts to different areas. It was truly amazing to see the large robotic equipment and people working together. One improvement, and a huge missed opportunity, was the lack of a company store. We would have loved to buy a sticker, or shirt, or something, to take home.

I chose to join one of the ranger-led tours at Mission San Jose to get a little more information. The tour is very informative and you learn a lot about the history of the Mission San Jose and the general era of the missions. I didn't have a lot of knowledge of that time, so being able to hear about the history and walk around the mission to see the architecture was very cool. I also went up to Mission Concepcion to see the church there. Being in these places, you really feel the history all around you in a different way. Absolutely worth taking some time to explore and try to pay attention to the amazing details.

This is…read moreone of four (five with The Alamo) San Antonio missions in the National Parks system, and you get to walk back in time at this CCC-restored, community advocated site whose advocacy history is also on display. Put on your sunscreen and set aside 2-3 hours, or more if you like! A couple hours flew by before we noticed, and there is so many neat things to see. You are also walking into the present: San Jose is still an active congregation where you can attend mass, light a candle, and the congregation might be already having an event. Thankfully the air-conditioned chapel was open during our visit. As a fee-free site, you can leave $ for the congregation in a donation box by the holy water, or visit the gift shop. Alas the gift shop inside the mission walls was closed, but the visitor center (after staff lunch) was open and full of souvenirs and reading material. What a beautiful chapel, and lovely landscaping and birds outside. Some even nested in crevices outside the chapel walls. A profound spot all around. San Jose isn't the closest mission to downtown, but is the only site with a visitor center, and a good spot if your kid's earning a junior ranger badge (ps, the junior ranger badge collection displayed at the visitor Center is itself amazing).

We stopped by around mid-day and it was HOT - 105 degrees. We found that this park is free for all to visit and see and the friend NPS staff at the front were happy to provide inputs, directions and we shopped in the little gift shop. We spent about an hour here walking around and enjoying the place and it's very peaceful, well-kept, and beautiful. Well worth a visit if you are in San Antonio.

They're more than eager to help, give directions, make recommendations, or just brag on San Antonio. Tourism is one of the largest industries in San Antonio with the Riverwalk and the Alamo being some of the most visited tourist destinations in the Lone Star State. These guys do a great job of promoting the city, and making out of towners feel welcome.

This was my first visit to Government Canyon. I reserved my day pass, checked in at the entrance,…read moregot my pass, and we were on our way. We drove for a few minutes to a large parking lot. There were trailhead signs on either side and both were clearly marked. We decided to start with the Savannah Loop which is approximately 2.5 miles long. There are about eight differently trails of varying levels of intensity. The trail was clearly defined and well maintained. The signs make it easy to follow the trail and find your way around. There were quite a few hikers this morning, many with pets on leashes. Everyone was pretty friendly and courteous. The trail was very peaceful and very quiet for the most part. We didn't see much wildlife, but we found some lovely views. We will definitely come back for the other trails.

The staff and volunteers are always kind and knowledgeable, and there is so much natural beauty to take in throughout the preserve. Every visit feels a little different depending on what birds are out, which makes it easy to keep coming back. I'm so grateful San Antonio has a place like this.

Thirty of us took the hike with four certified naturalists. A couple were bird experts. They brought powerful telescopes on tripods for us to view. They pointed out stuff totally foreign to me. To me, all birds are sparrows - small, medium and big. Ha, ha. Most of the 30 people in the group were serious birders, members of various Audubon societies. Some have been to foreign countries to be able to see a specific bird. God love 'em. We drove in a caravan to the wetlands. One of the missions was to see the sunset over the water. Other missions were to see a killdeer, egrets, pelicans. Ducks were everywhere. The one drawback was that no one brought flashlights. Once the sun sets. It gets mighty dark out there. Maybe a chupacabra is out there. You wouldn't know until it was too late. We'll, we survive the march. Waiting for us we're our dinners from W.D. Deli. You can't go wrong with them. We had turkey and havarti on white with potato salad and one of their big-ass cookies and a soda. Yum. Afterwards, the guides served wine. A pretty good event.

This is such a beautiful biking path along the river. It will take you to all of the Missions. The…read morepath is well marked with directions to each Mission. Along the way there are pocket parks with sculptures and gazebos and even bathrooms. There are signs with local history to educate you. There are fauna and flora to observe. The river is so interesting with a lot of dams and waterfalls as the river level changed. I was so impressed with how well the path was incorporated into the landscape. It was also wide enough for other bikers and pedestrians to safely pass each other. If you like to bike this is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon going to all of the missions. I loved it.

I recently came for early voting the first week during the last hour before polls closed. For this election you can bet this was a huge voter turnout in records. When we entered inside, the line was all the way to the back! The wait time was about 20 minutes and the line was moving very quick. The staff at the be at county elections department were very friendly. They had more machines this time to accommodate the voters. The atmosphere very very peaceful and friendly. There is plenty of parking and was not very crowded. I've never had a negative experience here. I plan to continue coming to the civic center to vote!
