    Meet and Greet!

As a foodie, the moment I heard about SA Food Tours, I was stoked! I live in SA but there are so many places to eat/drink at and visit in SA that I've never heard of or been to. The places on the tour, were places I've ALWAYS wanted to visit, so this tour was the perfect way to knock a few out in one afternoon. Michael was my guide, he was pretty awesome and insightful. Not only did I get the opportunity to eat really awesome food, I learned things about San Antonio, I didn't know. It was fun to walk from place to place as one was able to take in and enjoy the sights in the downtown area. I had the priviledge of meeting new people and sharing the love of food with them! I truly had so much fun and look forward to future tours! I encourage EVERYONE whether you're visiting our great city or SA is your home to join a tour! Happy Eating Y'all!

I had so much fun on the food tour! The food was great also. I've gone on other food tours before while I was on vacation and I wasn't sure what to expect since I'm from San Antonio. I seriously feel like I've grown to love my city so much more!! I learned a ton about the history as well as how the city is currently changing. I love going downtown now, especially revisiting the restaurants the tour took us to. I would HIGHLY recommend SA Food Tours! It was a blast and the food was top notch. Thanks for the great experience!

Our awesome tour guide. Very knowledgeable.

I'm speaking from experience as we've taken one now each place we travel to (if they have one) for the last 6 years, which is when it seems many good ones began to get started (US). I noticed the reviews so far are all from people in San Antonio. Nothing wrong with that - I live here too. However, none mention having taken other food tours they've taken so as to compare it. When you do, I find this tour a bit pricey and not balanced. I know it's a about the food for the most part and was the main reason we took it despite the cost. Yet, I was hoping for a true overall cultural experience like the best food tours we've done. That way you walk away satisfied gastronomically but also feel like you'd received a real "taste" of the city's culture you're visiting while allow your palate to rest while "digesting" things other than food. As I stated above, most food tours get good reviews, so I believe this is what helps separate the stand-outs from the average.

Our guide was knowledgable about the places we went and the ingredients used in our food. We had a food and beverage sampling at several popular restaurants. Every place we went had our table ready for us and hot food out within minutes. I am a vegetarian and each place had something for me. At the end of the evening we were stuffed. The next day we made reservations to return to our favorite place on the tour (Bliss). If you are visiting San Antonio this tour should not be missed.

It has a unique atmosphere that feels very different from a typical downtown area. I especially enjoyed simply walking along the river and taking in the surroundings. There was always something to see, whether it was the architecture, the boats passing by, or the people enjoying the area. Despite being a popular destination, it never felt overwhelming, and there were plenty of spots to slow down and relax. The River Walk is absolutely worth visiting and is one of the best attractions in San Antonio. Whether you're looking for a scenic walk, a meal by the water, or just a place to spend a few hours, it's easy to recommend.

It's easy to walk, the tour boats are novel, rental bikes are everywhere, there are tons of places to eat and shop, and you can even carry open containers of alcohol along the River level. Art museums, hotels, the courthouse, and more can be accessed from the River, so it's easily a huge part of the heart of downtown. The city keeps doing more and more to make the space memorable, so permanent art installations, parks, and other similar features keep getting added as time goes on. If you're visiting from out of town, I can't recommend adding the River Walk to your trip enough. It's absolutely worth experiencing for yourself.

First off, let me start by saying our driver Nate, was an absolute doll. He was the only good part about the experience with this company. The company is called San Antonio Wine Tours, their website says they are based out of SA and pickup in SA. When booking a half day tour, their website says there is only enough time to go to dripping springs. So I booked dripping springs and requested and additional hour to have lunch. Upon calling to update my reservation I was told the extra hour I purchased would go towards travel time. TBF dripping springs is 1.5 hours from my home and they said ppl usually spend 45min-1hr at the wineries. That being said, why does the basic half day package say there's enough time to go to dripping springs only, which I chose, yet my additional hour has to be used for travel. It didn't quite add up. So I explained this to them and was given the response "oh, I guess the website needs to be corrected". Also, they just asked "do you want to cancel?" No attempting to right their wrong. I soon realized it's probably bc the deposit I put down was non refundable so they probably didn't care bc they already had some of my money. I was told that apparently they have been pulling this since they started 2 years ago and the website was supposed to have been "corrected" many times before this. So buyer beware, this company practices dishonest and what I feel is shady business. They also seem to not care about if the customer is upset and only about the money that can get.
