After performing a few x-rays, both regular and 360, I saw Dr. Rickoff who asked a lot of questions to ensure that the circumstances leading up to the visit were consistent with what he suspected. After discussing the options, I decided to have a root canal performed immediately. Both Dr. Rickoff and the nurse were very compassionate and ensured they did what they could to keep me comfortable and calm throughout the procedure. All of the staff members with whom I interacted were professional and courteous. I had a few concerns the next day following the procedure and although the person who answered the phone tried to reassure me that this was normal, I still wanted to be sure to run it by the doctor himself. He called me back almost immediately and gave me some peace of mind. He was also in close communication with my regular dentist to ensure continuity of care. Although you hope that you never have to see an endodontist, if you do, this seems like a good office to visit.

When I asked for an evaluation of the cause for retreat Dr Young repeatedly said the same general answer. He is not willing to provide sound advice as he does not want to lose referrals from Tend. The side of my face Dr. Okeke operated on is now fully paralyzed and I cannot close my eye on that side either. I have been to multiple doctors regarding the paralysis. The two physicians I met with believe Dr Okeke's work triggered the paralysis. It seems this is a volume based business and he's juggling patients.

At the consult, Dr. Waters tried one last effort to prevent a root canal. Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved, and I scheduled the appointment for a root canal. My fear built up again. People talk about root canals like they are life changing, negative experiences. Again, I was terrified. However, I showed up for my 7:15 am appointment. Again, I was greeted warmly. When I was called back to my room, the dental assistant, Mallory, offered me a neck pillow and a blanket, which I quickly accepted. She was kind and reassuring, offering to answer any questions. Dr. Waters arrived, and he, too, had a wonderful manner - friendly and upbeat. Both assured me the process would be quick and pain-free. They were right. The only thing I felt was the numbing shot (and that was not bad at all). I have not experienced any pain or discomfort at all. I kept waiting for the pain to come (even after the procedure), and it never did. I did not just survive a root canal - I thrived throughout it! Great experience from start to finish. Thanks to Dr. Waters, Mallory, Brad, and everyone else for making a terrifying experience a breeze! I am grateful.

Swanky offices with service to match…read more I had a cracked filling and needed a root canal, which, let's face it... is a less-than-exhilarating proposition. thank GOD Dr. Waters had the funny gas for me to go to La La Land while he beat the snot out of my tooth. So, the experience was great and it was of course hugely expensive (this practice is out-of-network on my insurance policy) but the end result matters. and I had almost zero pain after the Novacane wore off. Really appreciated the friendly gals who helped get me taken care of and, yep, I hope I don't have to go back. Dr. Waters was great too.

How did I end up at Endodontics of Atlanta?…read more I had some dull pain on my left side of my teeth, not sure which tooth :( I texted my dentist and he asked me to just come in for him to take a look. My dentist Dr Bob Feil who has been looking after my teeth for the past 10 years and super nice of him to stay behind on a Friday night to check on my pain. There was no cavity or crack. He took an x-Ray and said he would refer me to an endodontist to have a better look and if perhaps the nerves on my #15 tooth were dying. Ugh!! I just really did not want to hear the two words : Root Canal. I called up Endodontist of Atlanta and got an appt on Feb 4. Staff was very helpful when I was making the appt. Miraculously, the pain sort of subsided as the day went by before my appt. That morning I was dropped off at the midtown 1375 Peachtree building. The front door was locked. I was like great, i hate talking via any intercom when wearing a mask. I pushed the button and a gentleman (possibly security) said 1375 something and unlocked the door. I tried to open the door, still locked. Then a guy walked past and told me try the middle door. I like oh, thank you. Me the dummy!! Upon stepping in, there was a gentleman asking if I had an appt at the Endodontics of Atlanta. I nodded, I wondered how he knew. Hmmm.. nevertheless he was very nice and said the female security would show me to the elevator. She decided to take the elevator with me to show me the direction. Super nice people! I finally found the office A-19. The cheery staff at the front desk greeted me when I opened the door. I filled up some forms but have completed majority of them prior to my appointment. Oh, he also took my temperature. The sitting/waiting area was really nice. Very classy, very relaxing. I was hoping to relax a bit but it got cut short when a female staff (Angie?) called my name. She too was very friendly even though she served me a cup of hydrogen peroxide. It was so nasty! I just had my first taste of hydrogen peroxide when I went to my dentist the day before. Ewwww!! I did just whined a little and said I had to have this two days in a row? :( Another staff took over and did a number of scans on my teeth. I was then seated in the room where I placed my coat and purse. The same staff took a few more X-rays. Shortly, Dr Jeffrey Waters came. He was very cheery, friendly and he has a very calming voice. He tried to explain and asked me a series of questions. I told him the pain kind of came and gone, though sometimes they would come visit. On a scale of 1 to 10, the dull pain would probably be a 1 or 2. He did a number of tests and in the end he concluded it was not necessary to do a root canal at this point but to monitor it. He said my current condition did not check all the boxes deemed necessary to do a root canal. I am glad though I would not have any doubt I would be in good hands when Dr. Waters would be handling the procedure. I was referred to an Endodontic by my dentist because I had an abscess gum infection with pus…read morecoming down between teeth 11 & 12. The Dentist treated it with antibiotics but couldn't get rid of the abscess or infection. The endodontic would be able to treat the infection and examine the area though his microscope to see if I needed a root canal. I took the referral and my dental insurance information to Dr Rodrick L. Barden, South Atlanta Endodontic Specialists, and 1640 Phoenix Blvd. Atlanta GA 30309 on or about February 20, 2019 and explained why I was referred. They scheduled my appointment for March 21, 2019. (soonest appointment available). On March 1, I received a call from their office saying they now had several opens available. At that time, I ask as on other occasions, if I they going to look at the area though a microscope. The response was that's always part of the consult. On March 15 I went to South Atlanta Endondontics Specialists, Dr Rodrick L Barden office. I filled out the registration form and Medical and Dental history form. Wrote I had pus between teeth 11& 12. Told them several times that I had an abscess that the dentist could not get rid of. Dr. Barden came in, did some measurements. I asked if the abscess should be drained. He replied, "absolutely not." He then showed me the x-rays and said I had a Cervical Resorption on tooth 12 and I needed surgery to remove it.. He explained what it was and said he was not good at cervical resorption surgery and referred me to his friend Dr George Brown, Peachtree Endodontics. I said, "so I don't need a root canal?" His response was, yes you need a root canal. DR Brown will do the surgery and you come back here for the root canal. He gave me the referral for tooth 12 along with the 2 x-rays that were taken. After I got home, I looked at the x-rays and realized the resorption was also on tooth 11. I then emailed the x-ray to a Professor of Dentistry who confirmed that the cervical resorption is on teeth 11 & 12. I called Dr Barden's office that afternoon left message that the resorption seemed to be on 11& 12 and inquired whether he used the microscope in my exam. They did not return my call. I called Monday March 18 and spoke to the receptionist who went to see if Dr Barden could speak to me about my concerns. She returned and said he was with a patient and would called me when he was done. She also said your referral was only for tooth 12. My insurance company and I paid for this useless consult and x-rays with no microscope. I sent Dr Brown's office a copy of the referral and x-rays. Their consult fee is an additional $175. The surgery and root canals on two teeth instead of just tooth 12 another several thousand. Could be at least 3 thousand, maybe more but would not know until I came for the consult. They said the surgery and root canal would be done at the same time. There is no way I should have surgery there then drive to Dr Barden's office for root canals. South Atlanta Endodontics only seemed interested in getting my money and money from my insurance company. They took the money!! I believe I'm entitled to a refund. They did nothing but refer me to another Endodontic. Dr Barden of South Atlanta Endodontics has never returned my calls.

Let me preface this review by saying that some of the staff at this place were great…read more However, the office manager is incompetent and lacks customer service skills: 1 - they could not get a hold of my insurance's pre-authorization department. I called them myself and was able to get someone in less than 5 minutes. It was literally one of the prompts when you call. 2 - I requested them to fill out my medical leave paperwork for my job. It took them 3 weeks to complete the form. The form is only one page long. It should not have taken that long. 3 - I made several attempts to get my final bill and a copy of my records, but to no avail. It has been 7 months now and no contact. Other issues I experienced: Wait times are atrocious & they have no respect for your time. When it came time for my final consultation what should have been a hour appointment ended up being a three hour appointment. And the worse part is that - I did not even get to voice my concerns or ask questions, as the doctor somehow disappeared and never came back! Even so after all the communications and all the long appointment times to this office, my original medical issue was not resolved. Very disappointing! I suggest you take your business elsewhere. This place does not care for you at all!!
