Fallen Angel is part of the larger Global Tattoo Studios group who also have 2 studios on the Wirral The studio is beautifully decorated, with massive attractive murals on the walls and ceilings. The studio is light and airy but also feels homely and pleasant. They offer a large range of designs to choose from but are also able to design custom work. In my experience the prices are slightly more expensive than other studios in the area but the work is of a very high quality so you will not be disappointed.

(Did I mention that George was my favorite Beatle? Signs, anyone?) So in we went. I'd never been in a tattoo shop and didn't know what to expect, but the place is immaculate and beautiful. Then a sweet, very helpful gentleman named Neil came to talk with us. I had not even thought about needing an appointment, but Neil (who happens to be the owner, it seems) squeezed the 2 of us in and personally gave us the most perfect Beatle tattoos ever! (When we started, the FedEx guy came in with a package to be signed for but Neil sent him upstairs as he had just sanitized his hands to begin work on me.) I was a little nervous about pain and blood, but both Neil and Colin (the other artist working on another guy in our room) are very good, so neither were really a problem. I have since gotten another tattoo in the states expecting a similar experience and was very surprised at the difference (ouch)! I DO recommend getting a Beatle tattoo in Liverpool. I am something of a Tattoo Connoisseur so I have to give my opinion on this shop…read more Firstly, the shop is run by teenagers. Tattooing is an art form which you enter into as an apprentice, learn your trade over time, and then eventually become a professional tattoo artist. This has clearly not been the case here as the "artists" are still children themselves. They are the sort of people who buy a tattoo kit from the Internet and then practise on their friends. The "artwork" I have seen produced by this studio is disgracefully bad. Lines which are meant to be straight are wobbly and portraits look nothing like the realism photo effect they are supposed to have. The piercer here is of the same quality. She has completed a course which took a few days and considers herself to be a professional body piercer, which is an insult to artists who have learnt their trade and respect their art. She pierces using the blade method which has been found to be the most traumatic to the skin. The instruments are reused and therefore become more blunt with each use, again creating more trauma to the body. Please do not go here, trust me.

Picton Tattoo do offer a drop in Monday to Saturday but as they are so busy, I'd advise booking - although they will fit you in the same day usually. Once you're all booked in, design finalised and you've prepared yourself for the needle, you're taken upstairs into the studios which are clean and relaxing, but not too clinical that they give you the creeps! Prices start at £30 for tattoos as this is the cost to open a new needle, obviously the bigger the tatt the more expensive, but they are very reasonable. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, they will also help you design what you want. A great studio!
