The main parking for guests is a small walk in a grassy lot, but those in bridal party and whoever's mobility is impaired can park right up close to the reception and outdoor ceremony area. Beware when booking at this lodge and how they handle cancellations…read more We booked a room at the Alaska Glacier Lodge because we wanted to do dogsledding and they offered a package for a room and credit for a heli tour. The main attraction was that the helicopter tour was owned and operated on the property so you don't have to go anywhere. We got a call 3 hours before departure that due to wind, the helicopter tour was canceled. We were made to understand that the lodge and tour are operated by the same company and would expect to be protected from being completely ripped off by the hotel. We were being reimbursed for the helicopter tour but not for our room. I understand weather can't be controlled but now we don't have a reason to stay at this hotel. With that being all we were there to do, and there was nothing else TO DO, there was no point for us to be there. The manager Liz was not sympathetic to this last minute cancelation and refused to give us a refund. We weren't going to waste one of our last days in Alaska so we decided not to unpack our car and drove to Girdwood where I luckily found another company that was offering dogsledding helicopter tours. Hopefully they can come to a better understanding that most people are staying at this lodge for their helicopter tours, as it is the only thing in the area to do.

I reached out to him a few months before our elopement. Coming from Florida to Alaska, I had no idea what to expect or how to complete our paperwork. Cian was easy to reach through phone or email and always eager to help. He contacted us a few days before to confirm details and ask us how we preferred to be introduced. He was incredibly kind and even brought our vows printed and ready for us. At the end of our ceremony, we had chilled champagne that was brought by him and he made us a book with a copy of our vows and the beautiful words that he had spoken qxduring the ceremony.
