Really it's one of the only venues to see performances in Anchorage. I've seen Arctic Entries, Hope Social Club, orchestra, etc... Slightly outdated interior. Could do with a rug upgrade, but that would be expensive. I've never had a bad seat in the joint from up close to nose bleed. During intermission there are drinks and food available. Will come again.

The PAC gets my good review but not the show. The theater is pretty small so almost every seat is good. The incline is steep enough that the people in front of you are not in your way while seated. I'm short so that's a big deal. I saw the I Am King Michael Jackson experience. The actor spoke pretty close to him and definitely had the dance moves down. But it literally just felt like a mediocre cover band. They didn't sing one single complete song and there was a lot of space in that that there was no singing at all. It was odd. Wouldn't have missed it if I didn't go and would like my $43 back. I know there are better shows than this so I'll go again. Not many options here.

It is located in downtown Anchorage. We saw the Aurora show there ($13 per ticket). They have many photo display showing all these amazing views!! Of course, they are for sale and many other souvenir. About the show.... I will say it is more like a "slideshow". No interview with the photographer or any kind of documentary. Only photos and some text thanking lots of people for making this happened. A little bit disappointed because we thought it would be a documentary about the process of how he took such amazing pictures. For $13 to see a slideshow... a little bit pricey. Because I can see all these photos in the display section.

Great service from Zac & the Bar!!

The show was fantastic! I couldn't remember the the show from my childhood but this performance was Perfect. I was in Awe with the children's performance. Looking into the next show to go too!!

    Best night ever!

If you hear someone talking about something play "at the PAC", they are talking about here. I think "PAC" should be a keyword for this place so much that I'll say it a couple more times: PAC, PAC, PAC, PAC, and PAC. Anyway, they have had some pretty damn good shows lately. I came here for my idols: Penn & Teller. The show was amazing, it gets 17 stars. We got the cheap-o seats, which are literally as far back as you can sit and....they still weren't that bad! I love Penn & Teller so much that if they ever come back (pleeeease), I'll probably spring for fancy seats. I'd also love to be on stage. Anway, great modern facility. Helpful ushers. You can buy beer to drink before you go in. And they let me take my DSLR camera in without treating me like a member of ISIS. I'm glad Anchorage has a venue like this, I just wish we had more! My review may be biased because...I got a selfie with Penn after the show. I felt like a spoiled brat on at her sweet 16 party. Great night.

ANNIE AN ABSOLUTE FUN NIGHT!!!!…read more Last night I went to opening night for the musical ANNIE. There was so much laughter in the theater, along with pure enjoyment of the performance on stage. Opening night was full. The audience enjoyed every bit as did I. Sure it was community theater but much better than a night of TV or movie theater. Everyone who enjoys being entertained should make the effort to go. Not enough of Anchorage remembers what a gift we have in the PAC. It was built with oil money that rolled in during the late 80's. The PAC and the shows that are produced there are great gifts to our city. I cannot say enough about the young and experienced talent in this show. The artists that designed the sets used their talented skills to the highest level. They do so much with so little resources. The chorus talent was highly trained. They did not miss a beat. The amazing and talented Annie (a remarkable 13 year old) projected her voice right to us in the very back row. She led the production flawlessly while maintaining her A level grades. Please take the time and enjoy this show. You will get lost in the enjoyment of the play as time flies by and you emerge thoroughly relaxed, in a great mood and highly entertained.

I learned something. Something others should be made aware of…read more The Alaska performing arts has three separate theaters. If you're running late (like we were the last time) and you go in the main doors, you may find yourself being ushered in toward another set of doors adding to the already sinking feeling of being behind. A couple points to note: There are three theaters. The Sydney Laurence, the Atwood, and the Discovery theater. On several (but not all) doors there a list of what plays are where. The main doors lead to the Atwood. A side door around the side of the theater on 6th Avenue leads to the Laurence and Discovery theaters. Since I have now seen performances in all three theaters, I feel confident with all the remaining shows I plan to see. Just hope this helps everyone else.

I had kind of forgot about our little gem of a theater Cyrano's!…read more To be completely honest the last time I went to a play here was when it was still downtown. I feel terrible I've neglected our wonderful little art house. The theater itself is so perfect and intimate, you feel absolutely immersed in the action when you're there. The volunteer staff is as friendly as could be, and amazingly helpful. The concession stand features LOCAL soda brewer Beach Tribe Sodas by Mike Jipping as well as Alaska made chocolates. They also have complimentary bottled water for patrons. The ticket prices are very reasonable. *pro tip- call them directly to purchase your tickets and skip the "booking fee" center ticks charges.

This is a terrific local theater with well curated shows and delightful acting. The theater is…read morequite small and probably sits somewhere in the vicinity of 75-100 people. This means there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I was introduced to Cyranos in December of 2022 when I came for The Twelfth Night. The ability of actors and actresses to perform Shakespeare is, to my understanding, the measuring stick of truly superb acting. And the performers were excellent. They applied well thought out subtext and demonstrated an excellent command of the original language. I was hooked and could not wait to return for more plays. Since then, I have returned for two additional plays: The Book Club and First Day, the Musical. In addition to great acting and singing, the stage designs show an attention to detail and lots of forethought. Each time, I feel like I am walking into a brand new setting. Add the excellent lighting and sound folks back stage, and it's a truly amazing experience. Every performance I have viewed also comes with a new and exciting art gallery on display. The artwork is always intriguing. Additionally, they have a box office with coffee, tea, locally made soda, and a few snacks. I highly recommend this theater. They are doing an excellent job. I will caution you on one thing: parking. It is sort of a nightmare. This is not the place to try and show up at the last minute. Come early and expect there to be some Tetris involved in finding a spot. In winter with large snowfall, the road where many park becomes even more difficult to navigate.
