They didn't just guide us - they educated us, patiently answering every single one of my (many!) questions with enthusiasm and depth. You can tell they truly love sharing this world with others. What stood out just as much as the scenery was the care and devotion shown to the dogs. Every single Alaskan Husky is clearly loved, respected, and exceptionally well cared for. It's obvious the entire team is deeply invested in the health, happiness, and wellbeing of these amazing animals, which made the experience feel even more special and authentic. And then there's the ride itself - absolutely breathtaking. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and the trail felt like something out of a dream. We glided through endless stretches of pristine white snow, surrounded by pines trees, with the crisp Alaskan air filling our lungs. The dogs were great and the trail was scenic, but my interaction with owner Matthew Failor detracted from the experience. At check-in, the waiver asked for my full address. When I hesitated and asked why, his response was essentially that I needed to fill it out or I wouldn't be allowed to go out on the sled. Only afterward did he vaguely mention insurance. Being given that kind of ultimatum in front of other guests felt coercive rather than respectful. After the run, he asked if I had fun and stayed warm. I answered simply and briefly. He then commented that I was "a woman of very few words," which came across as dismissive. He then asked where I live, despite my earlier hesitation about sharing personal information. As a woman traveling alone who had already shown discomfort about privacy, that felt intrusive and tone-deaf. The actual sled run was also noticeably shorter than expected, which made the overall experience feel less worth the cost. Liz later called, listened to my concerns, and processed a refund, which I appreciated. I'm sharing this so other women traveling alone can make an informed decision. While the dogs and trail were enjoyable, my interaction with Matthew made the overall experience uncomfortable and not worth repeating.

I was born in Anchorage, but I don't remember much of it. Let me just say that Alaska is the most gorgeous place in the world. The venue was perfect for a wedding. The bartender was a gem, and let me leave my car there when I drank too much bubbly, the view was incredible, the grounds outside were perfect, there was booze galore (I shouldn't mention that twice, but I was on vacation!) Specifically: - POOR AIRCRAFT CONDITIONS - INEXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS - UNETHICAL BUSINESS In April, Blue River confirmed my request that my dog can fly with me as I qualify for my PPL (see attached) so I moved up to Palmer, AK from TX and setup near the airport to start intense training in June. I showed up on June 15 for my first day of training, and it's been a disturbing experience. As a brief summary: POOR AIRCRAFT CONDITIONS - I observed missing exterior screws / bolts, large dent in flap, bent aileron and non-functional shoulder / seat belts on N4714F. This plane was available to students to fly. This is being reported to the FAA. INEXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS - My assigned instructor, LILIAN, indicated she was from TN and only 1 month into flying in AK, and she seemed to have a mini panic attack about flying with a dog. UNETHICAL BUSINESS - Now that I'm here, Blue River is saying my dog cannot fly with me (see attached). They also charged me for June 15 even though the instructor, Lilian, was too nervous to fly. I have left 2 messages with the front office staff for the owner, JAMIE, to try and resolve things but no return call. I have now wasted over a month and several thousand dollars coming to Blue River, and they are entirely avoiding returning call or addressing any of the issues. BLUE RIVER IS SIMPLY A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN. Be Safe Out There.

She decorated the land beautifully with flowers, had choice of two arbors, already set up for the outdoor ceremony. Then nearby slightly down a gentle hill was a huge tent that can hold 140 comfortably. There is electricity provided, so DJ was good to go. The tent was grass floor so be aware of this with heels ! Gorgeous bridal bungalow , quaint grooms quarters, and has flushing toilets / outhouse . The main parking for guests is a small walk in a grassy lot, but those in bridal party and whoever's mobility is impaired can park right up close to the reception and outdoor ceremony area. Joan Taylor is amazing I highly recommend this place!
