Received communication prior to the driver getting to our home with details of their procedures and a Photograph identifying the operator, Jared. Jared opened our large double garden gates, moved every bit of additional metal barriers I had put up to keep our dogs from getting into the street, moved the yard art and large flower pots, drove the pump truck down the drive, and upon completion put everything back as it was. I used this company two years ago and got to work with Scott. It was a great experience, he was very helpful, kind, and timely. I was a HUGE fan. That being said, after trying to use their services recently, I will never go through this company again. The lack of communication, customer service, care, and/or regard for my time and money is eye opening, very frustrating, and disappointing. My recent experience: I scheduled an appointment for the 11th for my flooding utility room. Tenants can not use their washing machine until this is fixed. They said they'd contact me 30 minutes prior to arriving and they could show any time between 8am-5pm. I really needed this done, so had taken the day off of work. At 4ish-pm I called them and said the job takes at least an hour to do and "I still haven't gotten a call from anyone... is anyone coming?" They tell me there was a "family emergency" and they'd have to cancel. Although frustrated, I could see that being out of their hands, and understood. However, I had to call them to find out they weren't coming, and reschedule myself. The soonest they had was a week out! I need it done, so I agreed to the date. We rescheduled for today the 17th. Again, they'd call 30 minutes in advance, blah blah blah. Not only, has no one called to say they are or aren't coming but I have called them twice to make sure I was still on the list for the day and ensure I wouldn't be missed or rescheduled again. Both times, I was told their dispatch would call me back, and I've not received a single call. Like last time, I took the day off of work to meet them here. It is already an expensive service to have done, but I'm also having to take time off of work to be here, costing me even more money. I'm not sure why it's been so painfully difficult to work with AK Sewer and Drain this time around. I did learn they're managed by a comapny based out of Illinois now. Im not sure if that was the case a few years ago, but the drastic difference in customer service is astonishing. I will not be using this company any more, I am so beyond frustrated. A friend recommended I call One Stop Services in town. The owner's daughter answered the phone on the third ring! Due to the plumbing problem I'm having she had me speak with her father (the owner) to ensure the correct service was scheduled. He was very kind, funny and personable, and they got me scheduled for tomorrow morning! It was SO EASY AND SIMPLE, just as it should be. Awaiting tomorrow's service outcomes with One Stop Services, I might be taking my future business there moving forward. read more

Scott Wiles is the best! Super nice, knowledgable, caring, and funny. Give him a raise. He definetely saved my day when my drain was flowing with sewer water. He explained to me that I could get reimbursed by my property management bc the clog wasn't my apartment's fault. Yay :) read more

Excellent service. Quick phone assessment by a competent person who knew how to get right to the point of the problem so she could communicate it to the team. They called me when they were close so I could quickly put pants on, well they didn't know that part... I waited for my turn, as you would expect I wasnt the only person they were assisting that day. They came out late on a Saturday night and solved my clog/drain/septic issue immediately. They offered advice on how to avoid issues in the future and also pinpointed a disaster waiting to happen so I could take care of it before it freezes. The flag drop on a weekend night visit was $210 and I find that incredibly reasonable to have flushable toilets, shower, laundry, etc. I doubt a company in the day would charge any less. Tenant let us know at 11pm / kit sink backed up - both sides full of water. Called AK Sewer & Drain at 9am - they said they could fit us in that day. Jacob showed up about 10: 30 - ran snake about 25' and cleared the line / put everything back together and flushed the drain well/ double checked for any leaks. Beware Scammer! called for a plumbing issue. When plumber showed up he wanted us to sign a waiver that stated, if he broke anything, neither he nor the company would be held responsible. we Did not agree, signed NO contract, this man did not step foot in our house. Yet, they actually billed us over $200.00. When The appointment was made (via phone) we were not informed about a "no fault" clause. The man was very rude before he left our property. we have since called other plumbing companies in Anchorage area and have been informed they don't ask their customers to sign to a "no fault" contract. This is outrageous business practices and a BBB complaint will be filed. read more

Searched Yelp for a company to unclog two drains and a toilet leak on a Monday morning. I picked Alaska Sewer and Drain because of the reviews, and they were all spot on! I felt I was in trustworthy, professional hands all the way. From my initial call to the completion of the job by Chase, I received nothing but prompt, courteous, and friendly service. My initial call was answered right away - no being put on hold. I was told someone could come out within 2 hours but Chase was there just over an hour later - wow! I need to add efficiency - Chase had all 3 items fixed in just over an hour so my bill was a lot cheaper than I anticipated. Couldn't be a happier customer. I've had Ak Sewer and Drain come out a few times to snake my drains. They've always been prompt, tidy and affordable. Most recently they came out quickly and capped a pipe that a large plumbing company in Anchorage failed to cap. This resulted in a horrifying stench that built up over time. The bill was only $135. I think that is more than fair and my tenant reported that the plumber/technician was super polite and friendly. read more

I scheduled an appointment 4 days ahead and took a day off work. My appointment time was 9:00am - at 9:30 I called and was told the plumber would be out "shortly". The plumber called me right back and said it would be an hour. At 12:15 I called (no answer at the shop) and when I called the plumber he said he didn't know how much longer it would be. I explained that I had taken the day off and made the appointment well ahead of time. He explained that in their line of work things come up. When I told him I would like to cancel my appointment and will find another plumber he said "good luck with that". Horrible customer service! I would never use this company or recommend it to anyone. You are better off paying for a plumber to come from Anchorage then use Alaska Sewer and Drain. read more
