I am visiting Anchorage from out of state. When I arrived, I realized I was missing an important part of my C-PAP. After calling a few places that wanted to charge me over $200 (what they would bill the insurance companies), I was frustrated & afraid I might have to go without my C-PAP. When I saw the Alaska Sleep Clinic, I thought "I wonder if they can help me?" I called and asked. Within a couplehours the team at Alaska Sleep Clinic had located the part I needed and they told me I could co.e pick it up any time! Even though I am not their patient, they went above and beyond to give me EXCEPTIONAL patient care! The follow up has been horrible since the initial consultation to the sleep study. My son was lost in their "system" multiple times. Lots of red flags from day one. It's a telemedicine racket! Don't waste your time or money. read more

Seemed okay at first. Met over zoom with some doc who proceeds to look at my throat using my phone flashlight and the camera. He then makes the claim that my tonsils and such are all fine (not sure how he could see that on a camera - given that cameras distort things when they care close vs. far) Regardless, I was scheduled a sleep study in their facility. The sleep study went well (showing what I already knew... that I have sleep apnea and wake by snoring when I cant breathe). The tech did a great job and was prompt in sending the results. She said I would be back soon to be fitted for a cpap or something once the doc looks at my study. Over a month has gone by since my sleep study and I have not heard anything from them. I called and left a message Monday of this week and it is now Saturday and again, nothing.... I would give a star for the tech, but that would make the overall business look like it is better than it really is. read more

Getting my initial appointment was easy, however, I have had to call to follow up on the next step every single time with no one from the office ever returning my calls. After my initial appointment an at home sleep study was recommended- I had to call the office after 2 weeks of no response to get the process initiated. After completing the at home study, I was told my results would be ready in about 10 days, once again I had to call 3 weeks after to find the results. At this point an in person study was recommended pending prior auth from my insurance. This was over 2 weeks ago and I still have not heard back. Micah is amazing. The staff in the office in Anchorage is amazing. I had a copy of the report within a week or so. HOWEVER, my consult with the doctor (in Texas) was scheduled 4 months out. Meanwhile, I need filters and mask parts. I may need adjustments to my machine pressure. And I want a new style of mask. read more

AK sleep clinic is first class because of its staff and technicians and service I had a study done recently They always return my phone calls and it was an exceptional and informative experience I had attempted two times in past years to get the right mask with other companies and had very poor service or lack of service and they also just did a home testing kit which are not the same as the clinic testing Micah the tech clearly explained everything they did and why He was very patient and because of them I am now successful using a CPAP machine and have the correct mask for me So if you want to learn about sleep apnea 1 get your doctor to refer you to them and check your insurance benefits 2. Their sleep rooms are very cozy and I slept very well. 3. After your data is finalized to your doctor, you should have one more night done to ensure you get the correct mask that you like. This is critical or you will be be back 4. The medical supply place you pick is crucial, but don't let them talk you into a different mask that you have not tested and they have deadlines for you for returning them for another one it may take a little while to get used to sleeping with them. You can do day naps, read books, etc, to practice with them This is the place to go for a first class sleep apnea study and choosing the right sleep mask for you! read more

I can't give them a negative number, so 1 star will have to do. Several months ago I had a zoom appointment, where I brought up getting a new CPAP as well as equipment. The doctor asked if I could wait a year, "they will have better machines then". About 5 months later, I called and asked about getting a new mask and hose, mine were being held together with electrical tape. What they didn't tell me when I called was, I would need a RX from them, but they sent me to a local store, then I was informed I would need the RX from Alaska Sleep Clinic. Even though they wrote my original RX and I had seen a doctor months before, they would not give me a RX. This went on for weeks, then out of the blue they call and say "we have a VA authorization for a sleep study, would you like to come in". Needing the equipment I said yes, that's when it all went to hell. I go in for my sleep study, fill out the insurance paperwork listing the VA as my insurance (they told me they had an authorization...very important detail). It was then that I find out the FIRST sleep study would be without a mask or CPAP, mind you they gave me a CPAP 5 years earlier, and I would need to come back for a SECOND to be conducted with a CPAP. I make it about 4 hours in and I just want to go home, it's a huge waist of my time, but it got much much worst. Frustrated beyond belief, I wrote my first Yelp review which got this reply from them: 'We have no customer under your name, you need to take this down or we will contact Yelp and have it taken down" I send them my sleep study verifying my existence, stating all I want is new equipment. They told me they would make it right if I took it down, so I did, until now. They offered to sell me the equipment, because they refuse to write an RX even though I saw a doctor months before, so I agreed....until I saw how much they wanted to bilk me for...419.00 dollars. I said no, hell no...and bought it off Amazon for 112.00. Now fast forward 2 months, we get a bill for 198.00 dollars. Because they heard me say that I eventually wanted to switch everything over to Tricare Select...they decided to change my billing from VA, which they said they had an authorization for to Tricare, so know I'm stuck with a deductible. When we called, they said the authorization from VA was too old. I have kept all my voice mail from them stating it was to be VA, and I also had it on my admitting paperwork. Since they screwed up, they changed my billing from VA to Tricare, so they wouldn't lose money....screwing their customer, me. I would never in a million years use this company. They don't care about their customers and treat veterans like crap. Worst company in the Valley by a mile. Alaska Sleep Clinic, don't contact me ever again. read more

I've had nothing but great experiences with the staff and service here. The gentleman who set me up for my test was very kind and helpful. The front desk staff went above and beyond to help me fight with my insurance to cover the costs of the cpap machine, and every time I call them to place an order for new supplies they are always friendly and extremely helpful! read more

Do not trust Alaska Sleep Clinic! Total false advertisement. Save your hard earned money for a reliable business. They advertised a certain percentage off if you paid in cash, which we did. We ended up paying full price and received no discount whatsoever. Then, after the initial consultation, they claimed it would be nearly 3x the cost we already paid to receive final consultation/interpretation of results. Needless to say, after many attempts to speak with multiple staff members at the facility, we ultimately had to find reliable, trustworthy help elsewhere. Total scam business! read more

Came in for a diagnostic sleep study since I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping and/or staying asleep. Came in at 8PM and was not expected until 9PM. Not my fault since I had received a call earlier in the day with the instructions, but whatev I can hang. I had a smallish room that had a bed, some sleep monitoring equipment, and a couple of cameras to monitor me throughout the night. I had 24 different wires and tubes coming off me, which made it hard to get comfortable, but it was all right. I had a nice nurse who let me look at my monitoring activity the next day. Only downside is that my room was next to the monitoring room and I could hear the loud male tech talking. I almost got up to ask them to keep it down, but in the end dude shut up. Every person I met was nice and professional. I would recommend. read more

Be very cautious in dealing with alaska sleep clinic, this place is money driven first and patient never. I paid a small fortune to take a test then was given a machine which I paid in full and 3 different times I tried telling them the settings where bad because I was waking up with mass amounts of air in my stomach and intestines. This was excruciating pain. According to the very rude lady that answered after calling 45 times before someone accually answered she told me it would cost me another 400 dollars to talk to the doctor to fix the issue. I have really good insurance I might add but no this had to be out of pocket According to her. So it's been 3 years used the machine 5 times and never again. But wait there is more. This company has been sneaking in charges and not telling me. Never one phone call or anything then I find put they are trying to sue me now for 1100 dollars of fees that where false charged to an account I called and told them to close I am done dealing with them. So be careful people this company is very bad news. Also be cautious of the five star reviews as they are ether employees or family that are posting these. read more

Got a referral from my Dr. and did a sleep study, got a Cpap machine and use it every night. Got moderate sleep apnea and don't want to do surgery but found this was a decent way to sleep, no more snoring or stop breathing....I don't watch myself sleep but am sure I woke up another with my unladylike snoring and probably oinking. I got to try the 'sleep number' bed...had a great sleep technician that got me some juice before I went to bed and some more when I woke up. Concerned about your sleep hygiene/health?? The professional staff at Alaska Sleep Clinic has provided excellent service to me. I had my initial sleep study done here and continued with them when my doctor recommended that I start using a CPAP machine. They explained all the different devices on the market and assisted me in picking out the proper machine and mask based on my pressure settings. Alaska Sleep Clinic also worked directly with my health insurance company and assisted with any billing issues. I have been using the Anchorage office now for 2 1/2 years to obtain supplies, maintenance and new masks when required. The staff at this office continues to be extremely courteous and provides me with lots of information on any new masks / supplies that have recently come on the market. They are easily accessible and take the time to answer any and all questions that I may have. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone thinking about or currently using a CPAP machine. read more

Not up front about all the costs. They told me the cost for an in-home sleep study (I think it was $800 -something) and worked with my insurance company to figure out my share. I paid my share in the clinic before I did the study. Then I got a call from a neurologists office in Texas to arrange an appointment. That would cost $600. Then I got a bill from the same neurologist's office for $500 (before it was reduced by my insurance) for interpretation of the results. They said what I paid to the clinic was only for the equipment. They also said Alaska Sleep Clinic should have sent me the results (which I never received), but they will send it now. So, Alaska Sleep Clinic quoted $800-something dollars for a sleep study that would have actually cost closer to $2000. They also did not tell me anything about their arrangement with the doctor in Texas. I chose to do business with an Alaskan clinic, not knowing anything at all about the doctor in a completely different clinic, with separate billing, located in Texas. That's not a deal-killer by any means, but Alaska Sleep Clinic should have explained how that works. I had no idea I would be getting a call from Texas (probably ignored their calls a dozen times because of the Texas area code), and the communication between the two clinics is clearly not what it should be. For the good: The sleep study itself was easy. They taught me how to attach everything. The equipment appeared to be in good working order. The process for picking it up and returning it was easy. I should also add that the neurologist's office was very professional and direct in their dealings with me. I never met with the doctor because I thought it cost too much, but the staff I talked to on the phone was very courteous. read more

Unscrupulous and slimy business practices. I don't recommend any patient go to Alaska Sleep Clinic. I was charged my full deductible 3 days before the end of December for the next year before they would give me my APAP machine. They held on to this money ($1500) for 9 1/2 months before refunding ($1082) which caused me to pay almost twice my deductible for the year. I talked with the CEO about my experience who gave me a sob story about having to pay employees and waiting for insurance to pay, etc. They will make life very difficult for you as the patient financially no matter what they say. I was not given a choice as to which machine I received after my sleep study and their supply chain is very inefficient and unprofessional. DO NOT go to Alaska Sleep Clinic especially if you have other options. If you don't have the option, then I would strongly urge talking with your insurance company to get them to pay for another sleep center's services. If you are paying out of pocket, absolutely DO NOT give your hard-earned money to Alaska Sleep Clinic! Very much a scam business with a lot of unscrupulous characters. read more

Great technician helped my wife. Post study service is severely lacking. They send you a bill for thousands of dollars and not a single follow up call to help set up your machine. Not just once, not just twice, not just three times... but more times we've had to call them to have them call us back. Spoke with three or four others with the same problem, and all recommend going somewhere else for your sleep study. read more
