The room was spacious, very clean, and came with lots of amenities. They had a table and chairs in the room that had an amazing view. They also had a fridge, a coffee machine in the room, creamer, a microwave (I believe), and a shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser in the shower. I also really like that they had a built in shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispenser rather that the sample bottles that you throw away and end up in a landfill. We unfortunately came during a heat wave about a week ago so we didn't use the hot tub or sauna, although I am sure that those staying here will enjoy them since the climate is normally much cooler and perfect for these types of things. The deck is amazing and has great views, along with lots of tables and chairs so that you can relax and take in the view! Tom and the staff were very hospitable and I highly recommend staying here. The breakfast was delicious. They had pancakes with birch syrup, bacon, and scrambled eggs. They made sure to ask if we had any allergies or dietary restrictions the night before and were very accommodating throughout our entire stay here.

The views are spectacular; the gorgeous deck overlooks the forest and mountain scenery. On a clear day it's possible to see Mount McKinley from the cabin. About 10 minute drive to downtown Talkeetna. Our PayPal receipt had the wrong address, which was nearly the same as another hostel in Talkeetna…read more- super confusing. When we got to the correct place, no one was working. Another guest helped us find our key and room. Place was not very clean. At night we were woken up once by a train, and once by a cat frantically scratching and meowing at our door. This is the closest place to the small airport for flight seeing, but every other place to stay in Talkeetna is less than 3-4 mins away, so that's not really a plus. Even if you're 20 years old, I'd recommend staying at one of the road houses on Main street. If we come back we're staying at the much nicer lodge or cabins down the road.
