"Complex things are easy to do. Simplicity's the real challenge." - Robert James Waller, The Bridges of Madison County
The Albany Covered Bridge is just that... a covered bridge. It was constructed in 1857; destroyed by a storm around a year later; then rebuilt. The 120-ish long by 21-ish foot wide structure (considered a "paddleford truss with arches") is currently listed in the World Guide to Covered Bridges. So, if you're into this sort of thing (and why wouldn't beautiful, historical, noteworthy things not be your thing, eh?!), then I highly suggest stopping while driving through the Kancamagus.
If you're just visiting and not using the campground, there's a parking lot beforehand, and then you can walk down (they've done a good job over the years building extra accessible paths) from the parking lot/wooded area across the wooden covered bridge drinking in views of the White Mountains, Swift River, and the abundant amount of fauna. There's also a nearby three mile hiking path, The Boulder Loop Trail, and there are benches along the river where one can sit, stop, and look up at the beautiful covered bridge.
Coming to the Kanc is all about harkening back to simpler times. Cell service is non-existence, and there's no food or gas or man-driven distractions for that entire stretch of byway. So come disconnect to reconnect, look at beautiful structures, and enjoy scenic view after scenic view.
