My recent experience as a patient has left me deeply disappointed in the subpar post-operative care provided. I feel I was prematurely discharged, was yelled at by their nurse practitioner prior to discharge, then and upon discharge, I was given a prescription that was impossible to fill, despite the hospital being aware of the difficulty. The lack of urgency in addressing this issue was concerning and reflects poorly on the standard of care provided, as it left me with NO pain medications post-operatively. I urge individuals to explore alternative options for their healthcare needs in bariatric care, as this facility falls short in delivering satisfactory post-operative care & support. If you are on the fence about this center, stay there and go to Jacksonville as I should have.

He was on hold with a notification that his call was first in line for over 30 minutes. He started calling every other number he had for them and kept getting voice mail that the box was not set up to take messages. We will end up needing to go to ER in a bit. I had the exact same experience while waiting in the parking lot during a rainstorm during his original procedure. After trying to get through for over an hour, I finally went in to find out what the hell was going on since his appointment was 3 hours prior and they said they would update me. Lies. I went in and threw a small hissy fit and a very nice nurse came out and took me back to see my husband who still was waiting. Office staff just looked at me like I had lobsters growing out of my ears. Then I went to the waiting room and the office staff told me I needed to go wait in the hallway, because they were closing the lobby to go home. FFS! The doctor was nice and seemed very professional. As did the nurses. They would get 4 stars, despite the shitty scheduling. But that office staff all need to fired. Most unprofessional place ever. I wouldn't even them one star.

Then nothing of any real use on the medical side, the doc's unwilling to deliver bad news if that's all that there is, providing options previously discussed, tried and failed as if they never bothered to review the patient record. Additionally this joint just outsourced their medical record relay services to an offshore paying well below the minimum wage and they don't give a half-shitte as they're collecting on the service. That service, sharecare, is WAAYY more work dumped on you the patient than the very simple single form that used to be used with point of contact info on both sides to relay medical records. Go find another independent practice that really does care and that really is honest, even and especially if the news is bad, to be sensible and honorable to provide real care. With a support staff that really does work to provide good service rather than gather and yak-party loudly within ear shot of the poor patients waiting only one space over. p.s. I really am trying to reach out to the business manager but not getting any response, all the snark aside, I think it would be refreshing to have a practice that holds to professional standards and demeanor.

They wanted to Reschedule. I do not drive. My wife can't keep taking off work to please them. Found out I have low stage prostate cancer. It was automatic biopsy in 1 year. Went to get second opinion. Answer was that is like having surgery if you don't need it. There are other option to monitor my grade of cancer. Would not recommend and have changed doctors.

I was referred to Columbus Urology Center because of the recent policy changes within the VA system…read morepreventing VA doctors to prescribe testosterone medication. I went here to get checked and review my VA medical records (labs) and was provided a prescription for testosterone gel (that the VA will no longer prescribe because of new policy), but after two months I have not received my medication. I called to inquire about it and was told that the VA won't accept a "faxed" copy of the prescription. I decided I would go get the prescription in hand and take it to a local pharmacy; however, no pharmacy will fill it because they don't have contracts with the VA. I was told by the pharmacy I could pay for it out of pocket or use other forms of insurance which I don't have nor can afford right now. I don't think this is solely a problem with this clinic but includes the VA medical system working smoothly with non VA medical systems. If you are a veteran and the VA wants to refer you to this urologist, you may want to ask to be referred somewhere else to ensure you can get the prescriptions you need and paid for by the VA. If you do go here plan to use some form of insurance other than VA or pay to fill the prescription fully out of pocket. I contacted my VA doctor and let him know about the issue and he sent me an email message from the VA pharmacy to this clinic requesting they send additional information which it appears they have not acted upon; therefore, the VA pharmacy will not send the medication. The VA communicated this to them on 8 May and they have yet to provide the information to facilitate the VA pharmacy to fill and send the prescription. What a fiasco! I can actually feel myself getting more lethargic as each day passes. Use at your own risk.

After showing up on time for my appointment, I waited almost 1 hours to be seen…read more I was asked for a urine sample, and when I went to place it in the box, 4 others samples were still in there with all their info on the bottles. It was gross, and to me a privacy issue. The stuff was nice, but not helpful. The doctor was nice, but the appointment lasted 10 mins. Also, they tried to bring in 3 students. That is a little uncomfortable when you are dropping your drawers.
