If you want to wait 3 hours for a physical and work with a confused front office staff and out of touch doctor this place is great!

My mom is visiting from Brazil, and we decided to extend her stay a bit longer. Since she doesn't have insurance, I was a little nervous about finding the right care--but I was so pleasantly surprised and incredibly grateful to have been recommended to Dr. Johary. In my 25 years living in the U.S., I can honestly say that Dr. Johary is the kindest, most compassionate doctor I've ever met. His warmth and professionalism instantly put us at ease. The staff (Robyn ans Susette) were equally amazing--so courteous, patient, and genuinely kind. They truly went above and beyond to help us, and their care made all the difference. I also had the unexpected pleasure of meeting Dr. Johary's son, Alex, who happened to be in the office that day. What a wonderful young man--kind, respectful, and a true reflection of his parents. Congratulations to Dr. Johary and his wife--you have every reason to be proud! Without a doubt, I will be recommending Dr. Johary to everyone I know. I had a 2:30 PM appointment. Arrived on time. At 3 o'clock, I asked what's going on and was told that there's still another person in front of me and it would be an unspecified amount of time until I was with the doctor. I got up and left. Life's too short to give money to a physician who has no respect for their patients' time. read more

I just needed a blood draw - I arrived just before my appointment time, got in and out very quickly. Very efficient. I have difficult veins to find, but they found them quick and got the blood no problem. read more

I have severe anxiety and a genuine fear of doctors in general. I only went because my husband and his family went to him so I felt I could trust him. I was relieved to meet one of the sweetest caring men I've ever known. His staff always goes above and beyond! I left my medication at home and was away on a trip they got my script called in and ready when we arrived to our vacation destination. Everyone in that office is a true gem! No formal complaints here. Just takes some time in the waiting room... he's a popular guy! Again I have recommended him to friends and family as he is an amazing doctor!!! I have to give Dr Johary five stars and say that with any doctor that isn't a machine, you are going to have good days and bad. That being said, Dr. Johary is as good as it gets and definitely better than the rest. He cares, he knows what he is talking about and he can relate. I have seen several doctors over the years and can tell you that what people are complaining about here is not specific to Dr. Johary, but can be attributed to any Doctor who is as good and as busy as he is. I've waited an hour to an hour and a half, only to see him for ten minutes, but there was nothing too serious and I didn't have many questions so why would I be there for much longer than that? When there was something wrong, when I did have questions Dr. Johary went above and beyond answering questions, making sure that I understood. I highly recommend Dr. Johary, I would highly recommend Dr. Johary if the wait time was three hours. Good healthcare is timeless. read more

From the moment I called to make an appointment I was treated with professionalism. When I entered the office for my first visit, the check in and paperwork processes were concise. I waited a very short time before I was greeted by the assistant who brought me back for vitals. I saw Eileen the PA and she was thorough and attentive. She had very good advice for my situation. I would never return to Dr. Johary's practice. They were extremely unprofessional. While I was sitting in the waiting room the reception window was open and the intern was talking negatively about another patient and about how she was going to get her drink on after work. When Dr. Johary entered the exam room originally it was because he left his laptop accidentally in my room and he went back out leaving the exam room door wide open. When he eventually came back he left the door open while he was talking to me, barely examined me and then sent me on my way. Don't go there if you want to be treated with respect because they won't do it. read more

Hi. Dr Johary has always been on the money with getting me in quick when it's an emergency and takes the time needed to deal with a problem. Top tier. He does care and does take time to explain things. That being said, he is a very busy Dr and committed to an overwhelming and endless series of patients. As with any doctor, I suggest you write any of your questions, thoughts and symptoms down ahead of time, perhaps do a little research on the internet ahead of time, and bring a book and be prepared to wait a little. No more slower than any other busy doctor, but each patient gets his full attention so sometimes there is a wait. It is worth it. He is a very insightful and knowledgeable doctor, quick thinking and cheerfully conversational. read more

Dr. Johary is one of the very best internists in Atlanta.My family (grandmother, mother) and I have gone to him for over 35 years. I am shocked at the few negative reviews and really suspect the negative reviews are mean-spirited trolls who do not know him at all and just enjoy leaving negative reviews to trash the practices of caring, skilled doctors. He cared for my grandmother from ages 70-94 (she had Alzheimer's, high cholesterol, and chronic bronchitis), and he always went above and beyond to care for her; he also took all the time necessary to speak to my mother and me about the latest research/prescriptions/treatment for my grandmother. My grandmother adored him, and I think a great deal of her longevity (she lived over 15 years after her Alzheimer's diagnosis) was due in part to Dr. Johary's dedicated care. He has also taken great care of me, and I have a lot of medical issues. He even worked on New Year's Eve (today) to care for his patients. I think it is awful that people on Yelp so callously and carelessly leave bad reviews; Dr. Johary is an OUTSTANDING, CARING DOCTOR, and his staff has always been very pleasant and courteous. Dr Johary has been our family physician for over 10 years. We have many health issues. We trust Dr Johary to treat for issues within his realm and refer us to other doctors as appropriate. I appreciate having a doctor who is familiar with our history and value his advice on all our treatments. He makes time for us when we have urgent problems. His staff is wonderful and caring. I did not give him 5 stars because it can be difficult to get through to the office and sometimes the wait times are very long. Our fist visit was less than stellar. We will not return. Inattentive office staff was the first turn off. Then we waited for 2 hours before we were finally seen for all of 10 minutes. The group at the front desk seemed totally unconcerned when patrons walked in and approached them. The young nurse was by far the most professional of the group.
