Staff was attentive and the catered food from the kitchen was delicious. Lobby had plenty of seating but could get cold if the doors were left open for a long time. Room was spacious with comfortable linens and they got nice balcony (too cold to go outside in January). My bathroom even had a built-in TV in the mirror. First time seeing this in hotels! It's also walkable to downtown for food or being dropped off by taxi/Uber from the airport.

I'm obsessed with their invigor - mint shampoo and body wash by Skoah (a discontinued line but only available at partnered hotels). They also have free self parking lots underground and above ground surface lots. They are located close by Calgary Tower and are near plenty of restaurants and bars around the downtown area. H mart is only about 2 blocks over if you want Asian groceries. I also just read that they give complimentary bikes rentals on their website, which is amazing! The only con was that you have to reserve pool time and it's a $10 fee per person if you don't show up. It's a small pool and is just under 5 feet. They reserve a seating area for you, which is very nice but made it difficult to plan your day especially having 2 kids under 3yo.

There was a game show event : The Price is Right which we were also treated to . On event days , they do not take reservations for dinner at the buffet . We were early at 5 pm and it was about 10 min wait . The buffet was hot and fresh and my Prime Rib was excellent! Juicy , medium rare and so tender ! The guys went back and had second helpings ! We enjoyed the sides offered and the Yorkshire Puddings were huge . The desserts were good selections and small portions so you could try several . Service was excellent and we enjoyed our dinner out very much prior to the show .

There was an issue where it wasn't secure with someone who was not a guest on a floor and making guests feel uncomfortable. Once it was shared with hotel staff, they removed the person from the hotel, but they did not inform us so that is something that could have been improved. The restaurant by the hotel had great food and service, and it wasn't too busy during the day. It was busy for the evening rush, but I still felt the noise level was reasonable. The casino was cramped, busy and smoky for a Sunday evening. I didn't like the layout much. But they do provide free help yourself coffee in the morning. The event centre wasn't crowded, and easy to get to our seats. We had first row and I found it was quite close to the stage. I didn't have a drink, but the line ups weren't too long. There are bathrooms in the event centre, but we went in the casino as it was closer and no line up there.

It's definitely a good option if you need somewhere comfortable to stay with children. Rooms are decent and functional. While not ultra-luxury, it offers great value for the price. Would recommend for families or short stays.

No free breakfast here for how much it costs, I think the amenities with the slides was what made it cost so much. The layout of the rooms were oddly placed to accommodate the pool area. The rooms were just okay. The pool was great. Remember to get a wristband in the mornings if you plan to swim later on the weekends. The elevator was the most frustrating thing to me in the hotel. You had to swipe your card to pick your level. If there are 5 diff card holders in that elevator, you can't swipe fast enough and your level gets skipped and you have to enjoy the ride back down and up to your room again. Another thing I have to mention is the parking garage. Has a sign about turning at your own risk basically. The turn is so tight, my friend ended up scraping her car. So we all parked outside from then on. Overall it was an okay stay, the pool was the main thing that was worth it. BUT I forgot to mention, a lot of sport teams book here because of the pool. At 10 pm to 11 pm there were kids running around the hall banging on the doors. No one keeping an eye on them.

However, this being said, be cautious as you will find around the city there are plenty of homeless & drug addicts. They aren't aggressive nor are they persistent. If anything it's quite sad and disheartening because you will find a lot of them have a mental illness. Just try to avoid wandering around at night. The C train is right across the street and from 3rd street East along 11th street west along 7 avenue is the free zone. Anything outside of that area you need to pay. We took the c train to Core Mall & to another hotel where we were picked up for a day tour to Banff. The hotel itself is clean and we had a corner room which was very spacious with a table and two chairs and then another set of armchairs with a glass table. This is how big the room was and we still had plenty of room to walk around! A microwave and fridge were also in the room. The only concerns were the water pressure from the rainfall shower, but if you put the lever half way to the left the pressure felt stronger. Our tv was acting up, interrupting our daily evening dose of Degrassi Jr High & Degrassi High. Adam from maintenance tried his best to remedy the situation, but to no avail. We were offered to move to a similar room but we liked our room so much we stayed with the temperamental tv instead. They were able to accommodate us by allowing us to stay in the current room for the third night. We had booked two nights on our own prior to our group tour and the day we were to check out was the day we were to check in with our tour group. This made it convenient for us not having to worry about our luggage or checking out and back in while we were away on a private tour the entire day. The lady at the front desk that checked us in was very helpful answering our questions and providing us with a map of the city. The robes available for use are heavenly! They are so soft, warm and very comfy!! We didn't have a chance to utilize the indoor pool, hot tub or gym but they were in good condition.

Let me start with the positives. The hotel is in a good location downtown in Calgary, though I will…read moresay that it was my first time in the city so perhaps there are better areas in which to stay. The hotel itself clearly was a more premium facility than it is trending toward. The rooms are normal sized and the materials used are of higher quality than what guests would find in medium-tier chain locations. The bed was very comfortable, the linens crisp and towels clean. Now...the building and its rooms (to be fair, I speak only of my room since I saw no others) are in disrepair. Most notably in the room in which I stayed, there was a pipe leak in the ceiling above the rain showerhead so water was dripping through the drywall down onto the top of the fixture. There was paint peeling and visible mold development from the saturated ceiling and water has clearly migrated to other parts of the bathroom ceiling as there are water spots, peeling paint and discoloration in several areas. The chrome light fixture above the mirror over the sink and the towel rack on the wall above the toilet were pitted with corrosion, most likely due to years of poor ventilation in the bathroom - there is a passive vent, but no powered fan - so while that could be considered a design flaw, it's more or less expected that moisture would take a toll in a small bathroom. To me the issue is more that these items would not have been replaced as part of a what should be regular room inspections & a maintenance schedule. There are visible signs of additional moisture damage, notably the door and jambs, the content of which was swelled with moisture and paint erosion. Furthermore, the door itself was rife with dents, dings, and unsightly damage most likely caused because the door opens the wrong way into the entry corridor and therefore is subjected to contact with the entry door latches when that door is opened into it. During my 3-night stay TV service was down and acknowledged by staff that it was being addressed. Should it have taken so much time to fix? I think not. There were visible carpet stains that surely could have been remediated during routine room cleaning. Lastly, there was a compatibility issue between the a/c unit and the wall thermostat. When set it would continuously run (loudly) until the room would be so cold that it required manually turning it off. Ordinarily simply raising the temperature would accomplish this but it did not. With a front desk clerk I shared some images and a short video of the ceiling leak and was told that the matter would be addressed; though it seems to me that with the obvious problem previous guests would too have called this to the attention of the staff. I asked that the front office manager, Aman Yadav, contact me so that I could pass on additional information. He followed up a little more than a week later, acknowledged having received my input and offered a partial credit for the cost of my stay, which I appreciated as a sign of good faith and understanding.
