I have a 1980 Mercedees 450SL convertible and the original 45 year old soft top has seen its time. I was holding it together with clear duct tape and super glue. The time had came to replace the top. I contacted a few places and was impressed with Albo's free estimate and knowledge. I visited the location and everything and everyone was wonderful. Under the top the car has some age-related damage that was not visible. Albo took great care to keep me informed and to send me photos of everything before they did any additional work. Had a seam rips on my Jeep drivers seat. Irena said she could fix them and then she did (along with noticing the beginning of another and repairing it)! Quality doesn't seem that it could be any better, match appears perfect, cost was reasonable to me, and time to repair was only one full day to match and complete. One week to get the fabric and only four days to do the work. In less than two weeks from start to finish we had bar stools that were better than new at less than half the cost of new stools. In a word, FANTASTIC! All I needed was some new foam for my 3 season room cushions. Brought the cushions in, Irene gave me a price and said the foam would be there in about a week. I took the cushions home so I could continue to use them until the foam came in. In about a week, the foam came in, I brought in the cushions and THE NEXT DAY the cushions were ready. Rip-off business. My son was supposed to get an estimate on the repairs to his convertible top, which he supplied 90% of the parts. He left the car on Thursday night, never heard a word until Monday afternoon that it took them 2.5 hours to take the top off. OK, seems reasonable, but why didn't he get this notification on Friday morning if they had done the work in the morning? He didn't hear another word until Tuesday where they had to order another part, which was due Wednesday p.m. Hmmm, he got a notice early Thursday afternoon that the car was finished. Unfortunately the bill was astronomical, and the car was now held hostage. They claim it took an additional 27.5 hours, a total of 30 hours at rack rate to fix the top. There is no way they worked solidly on this car for 5 full days, yet that is what they claimed. No negotiation except giving the $75 part. This firm is deceptive, has poor communication skills and behaves in a borderline criminal manner. They took advantage of him with no remorse. They looked like craftsmen which is why they were chosen, apparently they are just incompetent in their work. There is no way this repair should have cost this much, a used convertible top complete costs 1/3 what they charged. With the available time between Monday and Thursday afternoon, and time while waiting for the part was around 16 hours. RIPOFF, don't patronize. read more

I have a Subaru Outback 2015 and I noticed a week ago that the left section of the seat fake leather( didn't know that) ripped off. Hello. I typically do not take the time to write reviews online ... Unless I truly believe that sharing my story can help out other people. For many like me I'll give the option to cut this story short, but by all means... if you want more insight into why, I am taking some sacrifices to write to be able to explain how. What I experienced today was a group of people prioritizing the bottom-line over running an honest business. meaning they care more about your money more than your satisfaction. If your reading this at a late enough day, try clicking on my username to see my only other review as this will be the shop that worked for me as I still need work to be completed on my interior. I'm doing this because as much as I hate writing bad reviews I feel the moral obligation to maybe to help out another good person by suggesting whatever the better alternative may be. So I recently a bought used car and was looking to find a place for it to reupholstered and I came across Albo restoration in a google search. As I was going inspecting my vehicle upon completion I noticed that they failed to replace some old leather. In broken English they replied with something along the gist of "because it wasn't torn, it was not replaced". Even though I had the invoice in my hand stating the entire seat cushion was to be replaced, I was being told that it meant 2/3 of the seat cover. Persistent I still try to work this out with calmness and clarity. So as any professional business owner would she now dares to tear up the invoice and proceeding with the yelling. I At this point I tryed to deal with the calmer partner, when I did point he trys to sell me on paying me more money for the same work that the invoice stated would be done. Something was off as one the partners states me this repair would be another $50, and the other tells $160 at separate times during the same conversation. Hope this helps in some way! read more
