The Garden Center is a collective of 16 different gardening clubs from around Albuquerque. They each maintain a small plot. Recently attended a "tour" of the Xeric garden. As this facility is SMALL the "tour" involved us standing in one spot while she pointed. There is a gift shop which sells a variety of garden supplies, from bags of soil and irrigation equipment to gardening books and funny tshirts. I'm not certain what their hours are. Someone was there planning their wedding. She seemed happy, but I believe the comments below about the Garden Center having lots of rules and "recommendations". (What I overheard was the bride wanting a table next to the door so people would sign the guest book first thing and the Garden Center staff member telling her no. A weird thing for the staff to care about.) It's tiny so unless the price is great I can't really imagine having an event here. However, any event that any of the individual clubs have would probably be great. I enjoyed the "tour" guide from the Xeric Society; she was knowledgeable about that individual garden plus general relevant information. It was free, and there were also children's activities going on.

But, I digress. After spending three days in a "luxury" hotel for slightly over 100.00 a night and no WiFi, (they are next...) I found this diamond in the rough. Its tucked among a plethora of other major hotel chains on the East side of Albuquerque. The fact that its right across from a Target and other retail stores and good dining is plus... not that i don't love the free entertainment of some Walmart patrons, but after spending the wee hours of the morning in a car dealership to get a WiFi connection, I was in no mood. The rooms are beautiful (no snapchat model shock here) extremely clean, and the entire facility is smoke free, and a restaurant style breakfast is served in the a.m. The best part however, was the warm and super friendly customer service i received when i walked through the door. I was primed for an aloof and obdurate reception at best, but was gifted with quite the opposite from Sheri Brewer. A fraction of the cost and far more luxury with a friendly face. I will definitely be back!

Not only was the room the biggest I've had on my vacation across the country, it was one of the cleanest. Nicest "inn" for a fact. The room was quiet and in a separate building behind the lobby. It was convenient though and felt more private. The cook to order breakfast was different and my little one loved it! My key stopped working during my stay so that was pretty irritating first thing in the morning

We were given a very nice tour of the facility. I can see that it is a work in progress and believe it is going to be an extremely great place for those who need space. they provide private offices for rent, big rooms for classes or lectures, and small meeting rooms. I already have an idea how I can utilize the space. There are some fantastic features from when the place was built over a 100 years ago. Let's See this place grow.

Don't assume just because it makes perfect sense to you, that the other 99% of us dense folks will know exactly what you meant. And, no, this business has absolutely nothing to do with fowl of any kind that I can discern. It is actually a great Co-Working Space. I stopped in to Free Range for an event that was happening there. While I was there, I asked to have a tour of the space. They were surprised, but very accommodating. I was surprised at how large a space it is and how many different options to work, collaborate and hold meetings of different sizes are available. Private office spaces. Conference rooms and large meeting rooms. Bright and airy spaces. Not cramped / swished together spaces that I have seen in some co-working spaces. If you are looking for an every-now-and-then space, or a more permanent "office" space, check out Free Range. Ask for a tour. They have plenty of parking . . . .and even a 2nd location in Nob Hill, if this location just west of the University doesn't work for you. Why did I only give them four stars? Well, because I haven't actually worked there . . .yet. But, when and if I need a co-working space, this will definitely be my go-to option.
