There aren't enough superlatives to describe the care my husband received at the Adventist…read moreRehabilitation Center in Silver Spring.  Everyone is caring and focused on getting the patient healthy and maintaining a stress free environment so you can focus your energies on healing.  They all work as a team.  Dr. Thorpe, in addition to being an extremely skilled physician, he is thoughtful, caring and attentive. He makes you feel as if you're his only patient taking whatever time is needed to answer any questions and keep you informed of the treatment plans. My husband came to the center unable to walk because of spine surgery and with a diagnosis of a blood disorder.  As a result of Dr. Thorpe's thoroughness, it turned out that there was no blood disorder.  The usual blood tests provided inaccurate results. The physical and occupational therapists were equally caring and skilled. The therapies had him walking and slowly becoming self sufficient. The nursing care cannot be praised enough.They were always responsive to his needs and often checked in just to see how he was doing. Our care navigator, Ms. Enitan Macarthy worked to maintain quality care and made the transition home seamless. We owe a debt of gratitude to the entire staff for getting my husband functioning well enough to come home.

I did exactly that and reached out as instructed, hoping to finally receive answers, accountability, or at the very least a meaningful conversation regarding my grandmother's care. Unfortunately, I received no response, no returned phone call, and no follow-up despite my efforts. This lack of response only reinforced the concerns our family experienced throughout my grandmother's stay: poor communication, lack of accountability, and disregard for the concerns of patients' families. It is deeply disappointing that even after publicly acknowledging my review and inviting further discussion, there was still no effort made to genuinely address what occurred or communicate with our family. Families dealing with the illness or loss of a loved one deserve compassion, responsiveness, and transparency. Sadly, our experience continued to fall short in all of those areas.

Had my mother in this facility after coming from hospital for Rehab and Dialysis. The first few…read moredays she had a issue with a staff member that did not want to assist my 85-year-old mother. She rang the nurse bell and they told her stop. my mom was in pain at the time. se3cond issue was with the same attendant week later. my mother was in pain and needed to be attended to for using the bathroom. They did not change/clean her up until over a hour later. I reported this to a supervisor, and they said the person would be reprimanded and would not be back the next week. That person came in that next night and asked my mother did she need any help. My mother said she was in pain and had hard time breathing no one helped her. my mother had to call me from her phone and asked what to do. She called 911 and first responders took her to the hospital. The Nurses were good and vey profession and on their job. The attendant and supervisor are not. The place seems somewhat clean. Your love one's needs might be on the back burner with some attendants. Seems like they want you and your loved one's money but don't want to treat them like they would their own family. Since then, I have been looking into another rehab and senior place. She will not go back there and will never if i can help it.

This place was recommended to me from the hospital my mother was being released from for sub-acute rehab services. I went and toured the facility. It looked and seemed nice to the naked eye but the bogus business practices showed me what time these people are on. Its all a money grab and no integrity whatsoever. This facility has rehab and longterm care. While I was there I asked about longterm care because I knew the next step would be to bring mom home and attempt to care for her or place her somewhere that can care for a dementia immobile patient. So I give the hospital coordinator the green light to work with the ALH coordinator. ALH sends me a 15 page application to see if my mother will qualify for medicaid or financial assistance (She has medicare - private insurance). The application wanted all of my mother's account numbers and amount in them, they wanted me to sign over her SSA checks directly to them, and set up AHC payments for her care all before ever seeing a price list of any sort. Context, I told these people up front that we would be paying out of pocket because she has assets and will not qualify. That was met with MAJOR resistance and because of it, they held up the hospital discharging her to their facility for rehab. Again, the application is for longterm care, insurance would cover the rehab. So for over a week Im going back and forth between the facility and their billing office in NY simply requesting a fee list of proposed services to cover longterm care so I can budget what expenses will look like. They repeatedly told me they dont have a fee list (I sat on the phone with them while somene named Layla argued with her manager about fees). Note that with each person I spoke to, the basic daily room fee changed 3 times proving my point of wanting a simple list in writing. I explained multiple times that Im not showing them my mother's assets without knowing what their fees are. What's protecting us from them just making up new fees when they see what she has? These people told me oh we wouldnt do that. Guess they thought I was stupid because I refused. I asked multiple times, why they would treat a self-pay patient like this. "That's just our policy." Scammy to say the least. ON WHAT PLANET does a facility not have a set fee list of services. They finally sent something over with TWO lines on it. Nothing speaking to what else would be needed on a day-to-day basis, just room fees. BOGUS. So again, I refused to send the application back, and they refused to accept my mother for even rehab. Insane!

Extremely abusive in every sense of the word. Was sexually abused and disregarded for 2 days…read morewithout food or water and without a toilet. Do not go there, even if you hate someone to not bring them there. I called 911 twice after being assaulted and they drugged me. The third time I woke up in the hospital. Absolutely do not go there. If they could get a-10 in Stars I'd give it to them.

In the past two years my wife has needed to go into a Rehab enter. The first time was two years ago…read moreafter she had back Surgery. They put her in a facility near where we lived. The facility was nice and seemed to be well equipped but seriously understaffed. It often took a half hour to an hour for an aid or nurse to respond to her call requests. Facility okay, staffing an issue. This time she after having fallen many times in our unit she was hospitalized, They decided to send her to a Rehab Center in Anne Arundel County. This place, though highly rated by Medicare was awful. It was a rather dingy facility in which you were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of urine and feces! It also took an hour or longer for anyone to respond to her calls, often she was told just to "go in your diaper" until we have time for you! The PT/OT facilities were bare-boned and she received barely more than 20 minutes of one or the other during weekdays. And on one of those days they had a group session instead of individual treatment where none of her Rehab needs were addressed! This place was so awful I found myself crying to myself, feeling guilty that she had to stay in this disgusting facility! I fought for and finally received the OK to transfer her to Lorien, Elkridge! I can only describe it as like going from the worst Motel 6 in the world to the Carlton-Ritz! Lorien Elkridge in a very welcoming, clean, well-equipped facility. And the staff, including the those working the front desk, are very welcoming, responsive, kind and caring!! She rarely waits more than 5 to10 minutes when she request assistance. They seem to be eager to get whatever she needs and often do the same for me. The nurse in charge, is on the ball and is willing to put up with my inquires of her medical treatment and requests from me to obtain specific treatments and/or mess (I will admit that my career with the FDA as an expert in both Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals does give me an unique knowledge base.) She gets OT and PT every weekday, often for as long as an hour each! I can't rave enough about this facility and its staff. If you live near Elkridge you definitely would want to send your loved one her if they need rehab. Heck, even if you don't live near here, I would still recommend you check this facility out.

As of…read more2am on the next morning on 4/7/2026, he still hadn't seen a doctor and many, more new patients were given rooms. The quality of customer care here is terrible and the lack of communication is worse. I don't recommend coming here due to the lack of patient care, communications and lack of quality assurance. I was told by a nurse that they were too busy to put my husband in a room while other new patients were given rooms. But the photo below says otherwise....
