They couldn't have been more helpful, especially as this called for factory glass because of embedded wiper sensors that user comments on the Internet point out don't work properly with cheaper aftermarket glass. They ran the gauntlet for us with State Farm, as approval is a huge pain, then did the installation perfectly both times -- exactly like it came from the factory. They also explained installation and manufacturing details, obviously taking great pride in what they do. Safelite is handier, but if you prize having the job done just right, go here. No greenhorns -- the guys I talked to in and out of the shop to seem to have worked most of their lives at Alderfer, and it shows.

When I called them I was happy to pick up my screens x 12 at $100.00 a piece. Once home we immediately tried to insert our new screens and the size was wrong. I understand mistakes happen. What was Frustrating was there was no mention of 'we are sorry for any inconvenience. Instead, I was asked multiple questions that found myself needing to remind them this was their error. Then I was told I needed to bring the screens back. I had to call back again to request they do not cash my final payment check. So I loaded the screens in my car and 3rd trip back to the store to make a return. No surprise, again there was no apology for the inconvience. Please note I am not asking for an apology for the mistake - WE ALL MAKE THEM. There was no offer to maybe take a few bucks off due to the added burden of multiple calls and trips to thier store. No offer for possible delivering the screens to my home as an added gesture for a mistake made on their end. Nothing. This is simply gross. I wonder if it was my husband returning the screens an apology would have been offered. So much for doing business with a community business. I'm disgusted over this company's ignorance and speaks to much of why people feel angered by ignorance and greed In today's times. I write this to help the next customer - and maybe for Alderfer Glass to consider adding a reminder to employees on customer service. Not one person there uttered the words we are sorry . Rock hit my windshield on the highway, so my windshield had to get replaced, and my local Volvo repair shop recommended this place, not too far from me, so it worked out nicely. They have Wi-Fi in the shop, plus a Keurig machine, so I was able to work while waiting, which was convenient. There's a dog there that's friendly as well as the people, who were all really good at explaining everything, including the insurance piece. Alderfer's installed a large mirror in my bathroom. After a couple of years, I started to notice…read morethat the mirror was silvering badly at the bottom edges. When I called Alderfer's about this, they said that it is caused by using Windex that contains ammonia, and that I should change to ammonia-free Windex. What?!? They never gave that warning when they installed the mirror, and it sounds ridiculous to blame it on a cleaning product! They also installed a new pane of glass in the sidelight window next to my front door, and when they removed and reinstalled the wood frame, they left a mess on the exterior -- bulging nails, chipped paint, etc. Not good.
