The old downtown feel was welcoming with book stores, coffee shops, and bakeries with plenty of parking right in front of the shops. They carry many collections by different designers/ fabric companies and they tend to carry a wide assortment of fabrics from each collection. There was a good selection of notions, some of which I hadn't seen in other shops. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent.

We were looking for a particular brand of sofa, which they carried, but they were also very transparent about new concerns they were having with the company. We drove the 40 miles to Chehalis and were greeted by John, a friendly, no pressure, informative and very helpful sales guy. The discounts this weekend were DEEP on already reasonably priced good quality furniture. Emily Elam was also very helpful as we were able to order a dining table at the sale price. We are unable to take possession of the furniture when it arrives, but they were happy to store it free for us, until we are ready for pickup. Shopping at Elma's was worth the drive AND we didn't have to pay Thurston County tax ! We highly recommend Elma's...at least include them if you are looking at and comparative price shopping!

The pricing of what we custom ordered was slightly higher than what we were expecting, however their pricing compared to other dealers of same custom couch system was around $1500 less. This store also has furniture at all price points to facilitate all types of buyers. We looked at 4-5 other furniture store options and went back to first place we started at, Elam's. Plus due to the overall cost of what we ordered, we were not charged the customary deliver fee. Thank you for an easy experience. We would recommend this furniture store for others.

Most quilt stores get 5 ***** because they are loaded with fabric and the service is usually friendly and helpful. This rating is a rounding off of the store which deserves 5 stars and the rudeness of the service which deserves 1 star. To begin with -- we loved the store when we first walked on. There are tons of samples of items here including craft things to make and qult designs. However, we were greeted by the owner as we walked up the stairway to one section and told to come down. We were also told where to stand as she decided we needed a history lesson on the location and store. We did not want that or need that. Eventually, we were able to go explore on our own --- which we love to do. My daughter was up going through the bin of clearance items and was "told" several times to move so those there could go get their lunches or whatever. However, the worst part of the experience here was at check-out. Obviously, this store is a place to socialize in town and that's exactly what "Barbara" the sales person was doing at the cutting table. I stood there and stood there and stood there listening to her chat, exchange pictures and discuss goings on. She had long finished with the customer so it wasn't like she was providing the service. When I said something she reached over and asked how much yardage I wanted and went on with the conversation with her friends (they were no longer customers as they had long been waited on). We had to actually make comments to her about finishing up so she could help us. Terrible service. Not sure we will ever be back.

The shop is a hidden gem with a warm and inviting atmosphere. While Ewe and I is mainly a yarn store, they also have supplies for spinning, weaving, and felting, as well as craft classes. One side of the shop is Shonda's Food Cafe with hand pies, coffee, and baked goods. There are tables where you can sit and eat, but they were all taken when I was there on a Saturday in the late morning. They offer gorgeous yarn, such as the Alp Natural in the photos. The staff is kind and helpful, cheerfully winding my yarn without complaint and talking about possible patterns I could use with the yarn. I wish I lived near this shop so I could visit often.
