I asked Google for some recommendations of a nice, quiet place where we could get quick, casual…read moreeats nearby to where we were. The Modern Pantry was the first recommendation that Google made. I have to say that this was probably one of the best recommendations I've ever gotten from Google. Came here with my mom and daughter, and we were all taken in with the charm of this place. Google mentioned a patio that overlooks the ocean. Indeed, when we were inside we saw a sign on the wall that said "Patio This Way" and had an arrow on it. We followed the signs and found the outdoor patio which did indeed overlook the ocean. It was peaceful and quiet. Just what we needed. Only thing is...being close to the ocean, there was a bit of a breeze. So...next time, I will make sure to be prepared with jacket. They do have a heater with a sign that says you can ask for the heater to be turned on. Didn't notice this sign until later and honestly, it feels weird to ask someone to turn on the heater during the month of July. Good to take note of though for future visits. As for the food, it was mostly sandwiches to choose from, but I did also see some salad and quiche. I opted for a slice of Spinach and Cheddar quiche, while my mom had a Prosciutto & Apple with balsamic reduction sandwich, and my daughter had a Breakfast sandwich with souffle egg and spicy mayo, along with a Pain Au Chocolat. For drinks we had Iced Rhubarb Coconut Matcha, London Fog and Mango Slushy. I loved my quiche. It was a nice, tall slice and a wonderful texture. Not too dense. I enjoyed my Rhubarb Coconut Matcha drink as well. I usually stay clear of Rhubarb but this was the first time I'd seen it being offered in a drink. After trying it, I think I do better with Rhubarb in drinks than in food. Might try the breakfast sandwich. My daughter really enjoyed it and recommended me to try it next time. This place has won us over. We will definitely be back at this place again. Oh, they have baked goods in their freezers that you can buy to bring home and bake. I was very tempted to get a Vegetarian Shepherd's pie, and saw lots of other tempting frozen foods as well. Highly recommend this place!

I'm still thinking about that apple oat cake... and yes, I went back for the iced matcha twice in one week. It's a cute and cozy cafe you can go to read a book, get work done, or catchup with friends. 2232 Marine Dr. Unit 102, West Vancouver, BC V7V 1KR 8am-4pm The best thing about this coffeeshop is the free street parking, because most places in the lower mainland don't have free street parking on the same block as the cafe. The con: no plugs. The only available charging ports were usb ports so I couldn't charge my laptop. Food 5/5 Parking 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Service 4/5 (the first time I visited I only got a matcha iced latte so the service was good. The second time I visited I got an iced matcha latte, a cake, and a sandwich. I got my iced matcha and the cake within 5-10 minutes but they forgot my sandwich. I thought they were warming it up and since they suddenly got busy I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But after 20-25 minutes I noticed no one was behind the counter anymore. I went and inquired about my sandwich and they said they likely forgot. She apologized and warmed up my sandwich and brought it to my table. The individual taking my order seemed new so maybe he forgot to take it out of the fridge to warm it up. )

Unreliable. Sail at your own risk!…read more Harbour Cruises of Vancouver completely failed to deliver on the promise of their Indian Arm cruise. They claimed smoke in the engine room and limped back to port before we even turned into the Arm. Other reviews have reported unexplained itinerary changes that eliminated the main part of the trip. One has to wonder if they don't go up the Arm simply to save money when it's not fully booked or if their boats are that unreliable. While I understand mechanical issues, their compensation policy was completely inadequate. They offered a free drink on board and a coupon for 15% off a future cruise. Anyone booking on the internet can get a 20% discount off any cruise! After much back and forth they finally offered a 20% refund. The final price after this discount was approximately double the price of a narrated harbor tour. We received an un-narrated tour of the container port instead of a tour of the natural environment, which is what we were promised. We feel cheated by Harbour Cruises of Vancouver. Sail at your own risk!
