As guests, I was sent three entree menu options from the bride and groom beforehand as well as to list any allergies and dietary restrictions and the kitchen and wait staff really delivered when it came to our meals. For my table, there were several of us with dietary restrictions and the kitchen was able to seamlessly work with those and we were able to get the same dishes as the other guests at our table. The kitchen labelled our particular dishes with our names and the wait staff were able to easily identify those of us having a modified dish. For the main, I chose a roast and the modified sauce was perfect. The roast was one of the best roasts I've had; even better than the ones that they serve at buffets where it's all for show. It was tender and soft; I would eat it again! For dessert, it was a standard apple pie with ice cream, whipping cream and a chocolate strawberry for everyone. Mine did not include the ice cream however, there was a dollop of whipping cream on the dish and a missing chocolate strawberry. The wait staff quickly noticed the conversation at my table about my dessert and immediately took it away to get clarifications from the kitchen. It turned out to be a coconut-based whipping cream, which I can have, and that the chocolate strawberry was intentionally omitted due to lactose being in chocolate. Although I have an intolerance, I can still have chocolate so the kitchen was easily able to bring me a piece of chocolate strawberry on the side, no fuss. As someone with an intolerance, people still forget about my dietary restriction when I go to small restaurants and even coffee shops so I really appreciated how attentive the kitchen and wait staff were. 11/10!

Not a golf review but a local in the area where the golf course is a part of the community…read more Recently there seems to bee a change in management. They used to be accommodating to the locals. They would allow us to go through their Country Club property so the community would become more walkable and enjoyable. Many parents would use this path to walk their kids to a local school. Now they have put up a gate and a sign threatening to prosecute "to the fullest extent of the law." I had not heard of any previous problems with this system so I assume the new management just sucks. If they want to be unfriendly with the locals, the locals can be unfriendly to them.

Sadly none of the spots are free. Guess the Park people have to eat. The venue looks quite good for a building that's over 100 years old. Very classic renovations. There is a garden in front of the building. The building itself is split into a larger room in front, and a smaller room in the rear. The rear room especially looks like something that can be used in a movie. The catering here is top notch. Probably some of the best steak and prawns I've had in recent memory. It was so beautiful. Most banquet halls have mediocre buffet food, but this is not one of them. Special mention. Definitely recommended if one needs a venue for a special event.

I have passed by this prominent, very brown, very stately building on Main at 15th SO many times…read more It takes up nearly a city block and is 3 stories high, and has a very imposing clock tower, too! My kid had her high school prom here, and there are often various community events held here, as well as private parties, receptions and weddings. Today I finally got the chance to visit the building, though, as there was a weekend-long artisan fair held here. What a lovely venue! Outside, by the entrance, there is a plaque on the facade declaring this building as a "Heritage Building" (designated as such in 1974). The actual building was built in 1915 and was first used as a post office. For those who care about architectural and design styles, the building is classified as being done in the Beaux Arts Classicism style, with a lot of ornamentation on the sculptured columns and facade's stone. There are many sculpted faces and sandstone festoons visible on the first and second story exterior. Inside, the first floor used to be a grand ballroom, and it was recently re-done (in 2015), so now there is a terrazzo floor, and where once was a huge trompe l'oeil mural is now a blank wall (bummer). There still are beautiful chandeliers and an ethereal ceiling that's reminiscent of calming green-blue sea glass. Today at the artisan fair, there were tables lined up and creating aisles in the ballroom, so the room looked somewhat small. I'd imagine the venue appearing much larger and spatially impressive without all the tables. I was impressed by this building. It was lovely inside and out. The location on Main Street is awesome, too, with tons of parking on Main and the side streets, and so many fun shops, coffee houses and restaurants nearby.

During dinner and after, it was a bit harder to flag a server. But it was easy to just walk over to the service station to request for water jug top up or more chai or to bus the table. The food was good too with some items that could be better. The chicken adobo had really yummy sauce but the chicken pieces were mostly bones and the meat surrounding it was hard. Roast beef was tough despite asking for a rarer part. The chicken tikka masala and BC salmon were really good. Tender and flavorful. Same with the chicken skewers. The meat was not dry. The patio outside was really nice too. Spacious. The only drawback to this place is the event parking lot is not that nearby and its stairs to get up to the place.

She patiently explained to us the places we can go to and visit using their ferry service. We would have gone back to the hotel, had she not told us to go visit Kitsilano beach and the Maritime museum. She was very helpful to the other tourists who were buying tickets just like us. Troy was awesome and helpful, too. We left a box of fruit on the ferry and he asked us if we wanted it back. Although, it was ok not to get it back, we found it very thoughful of him to ask. Donalda was so easy to deal with and very helpful in the booking process. The location price is a little on the high side but for everything that you can do here it's worth the cost or at least that is what I am thinking at the moment. It's wheelchair accessible and you can have your wedding outside, reception inside and pictures taken in the park area surrounding the location. I am looking forward to seeing what we can do to revamp the place for the wedding. UPDATE: This place was beautiful for my wedding. We were able to have the wedding outside and the greenery just added to the ambience. I would definitely recommend this to any bride. The place is pricey but worth it.
