Aldi is not as posh as the other shopping stores in the immediate area. However, if you go in there to purchase particular things such as avocados or fruit, even cheese, you may find that your prices are 50% what they are in other nearby shopping areas. It's worth it to go there once or twice a month just to pick up very specific things that are at an extremely low price. Aldi does not provide shopping bags. You may purchase them but they prefer you bringing your own. I love Aldi, I could probably be their spokesperson. I usually go to the Aldi in West Asheville or near Wal-Mart but thought I'd check out the Airport Road location today. I was very pleased with my experience. I usually try not to go to Aldi on Sundays, especially after 11am, because it's always so crazy busy and items (especially produce) are often running low or not stocked. This was not true for this location. I went in around 2 pm today/Sunday and although, yes, it was busy, everything was stocked and the produce was plentiful. The more often you shop at Aldi, the better you get at shopping here and maneuvering through the aisles (same with Trader Joe's) because the aisles are thin and it is a popular place. For me, the main selling points of Aldi are: -low prices -great produce choices/quality -a lot of gluten free, vegetarian, and organic options -very quick check-out -much more Earth-friendly than most other grocery stores This is my go-to shopping chain and can almost always find all (or almost) every item on my shopping list here. Aldi is the place to go for a good value on groceries. The produce (if it's in) is a good variety and great quality. I always enjoy hitting up the aisle of non-food items...there are some fun gift ideas on that stretch! I'm a meal-planner and budget-keeper...Aldi is all about the deals, but sometimes I have to change meal plans on the fly when certain items are out of stock that were advertised on their app. When you go to Aldi, you are not going to have a stellar customer service experience. I love Aldi and am glad we have one nearby. It's easy to get in and out for the core items we use for our family and always for way less than other grocery stores. The meat and fresh veggies are always high quality and fairly priced. No they don't have every item in every category, but is trade that any day for the ease and peace of shopping there. read more

Hygiene lacking, rude employees. At the entrance, there were no wipes for the cart handles. The hand sanitizer dispenser at the door was empty. The cashiers have sanitizer wipe dispensers, but when I asked for a wipe, the cashier said, "No, these are just for us." I pointed out that there were no sanitizing wipes available at the door and he said, "Oh, we must have forgotten to put them out." This was 2:30 in the afternoon! There are no plastic bags available for raw meat packages, so the raw chicken sweats all over the other groceries. Now that they are offering curbside pickup, which I imagine has a tight turnaround timeframe, there are multiple professional shoppers rushing around the store to fulfill the curbside orders. They have pushed in front of me several times recently in their rush to finish their order. It's a bit much in a small store that can already be crowded at times. I do appreciate Aldi's food and prices, but the shopping experience here has gotten more and more unpleasant. Next time I'll bring my own plastic bags and sanitizing wipes! read more

We are so lucky to have as many Aldi locations as we do in western North Carolina. Aldi knows how to treat their employees and customers and does it consistently. The prices are excellent and the quality of food is just as good if not better than bigger grocery store chains. They allow their employees to sit while they work which reflects in the great customer service they provide. I can fill my cart to the brim and still only spend $50 for two weeks of groceries. I love their Winking Owl brand wines for only $2.50! They also carry well-known brands like Coca Cola if you really want the name brand. If not, you can get a liter of Aldi cola for $.69 which suits me just fine. A few things to note, however, are that if you only want one of a vegetable item, you may be out of luck. They carry large bags of veggies rather than individuals. Also, you need to remember to bring a quarter with you for the shopping cart and your own shopping bags if you don't want to buy them. None of these are downsides though since they pass along the savings to the customer and pay their employees well above minimum wage. Keep up the good work, Aldi! read more

Super for staples. To make kids and adults happy. Like odd snacks like Vegi chips and sweet potato chips at far cheaper price then Even lots of different kinds of Cheese,fresh raw pizza for cook at home. This is probably my favorite place to shop. The prices are extremely competitive, a lot of times beating out walmart and really disgracing ingles. That being said, they don't carry everything. But what they do carry is wonderfully low price for what it is. My only concern is the staff seems overworked. I guess the price might come at a cost. Some more hands would do this place great, as the cashiers are often stocking shelves and there are many long lines a lot of the time. read more
