There are also mainstream American frozen foods, juice, soda of standard American brand names available. Customer service is, indeed, nonexistent and albeit dismissive, curt, mired in disgruntled melancholy behavioral appearance exhibited and transparent to customers. Return policy is absolutely deplorable egregiously inferior and excessively poor standards of a traditional brick and mortar business. I agree with previous Yelpers with the excessively poor female cashiers' customer service and stolid dismissive behaviors. They do, indeed, exhibit rude scowl belligerent looks to customers as serial thieves. Personally, I like to explore, wanderer freely and openly, plus read products throughout the entire store aisles to see if any item possibly attracts my attention for potential purchase(s). Groceries include many varieties of grains, salted fish (dry and wet in bag), sauces and seasonings, spices, snacks, and canned and jarred goods, and among them, plentiful Caribbean imports. Like other markets in the area, they carry lots of Guyanese products alongside other ethnic grocery products. They have a meat area and a seafood area. I've not tried either yet but I see people constantly there buying so it must be good. There are deals to be had here. If you're looking for Five Roses flour in bulk, they have it. If you're looking for Guyanese rice, as well as other bulk rice packages, they have it. The staff is customer friendly enough. Some of the cashiers are quite nice and take the time to say hello to my kid and that always scores points with me. I've shopped here maybe 4 times since they've opened and it's a good market. It's as good as any of the other ethnic markets in the neighborhood but with that added bonus that it's super close to home. Normally, if I want to buy lots of fruit, I have to go down to Lefferts and Liberty - but not anymore. Definitely give these people a try. This store has an eclectic variety of shelf stable products, a Deli Dept. that has American, Italian, Polish cold cuts, and salads. The guys that slice the cold cuts are experts; each slice is evenly cut, and the way you asked. There is a separate meat market in the back, with an "Old-world" style butcher. Their produce section is amazing. It's the world wide selection of fresh produce, herbs, and vegetables that is truly amazing. Keep your Translator app open. Many of the cans & bottles are in the native language from the country where they are produced. The experience is akin to being in a market in another country. The staff somehow keeps the shelves and bins filled, actually know what they are handling, and they can answer a question. There's a navigator that keeps the check-out line moving. The prices on most items are very inexpensive, almost from 20 years ago and the quality is comparable to one of those upscale supermarkets.
