Love the vegetables and the salmon and the ham. Check out people are wonderful, and the parking is easy.

The fact that a small town like Carbondale has a co-op is a big plus. The story behind the co-op is…read morevery heartwarming to hear. Anyone can be an owner too! This place was great to come here because this place had a huge selection of vegan options to choose from. For me they had my health conscious drinks. The meals itself were pretty cheap. Even crazier is that this place sold vegan pizza! Other than that the store has a lot of great practical finds. The grocery prices are not too bad either compared to other co-ops. The dining section is very clean and well maintained. Staff here is also really friendly and helpful as well. I do think that the store facade let alone a whole strip mall needs to be updated. Clean restrooms as well and they always inform you about local events happening at the grocery store. Consistent daily deals with weekday specials. Great store to support!

Neighborhood Co-Op is one of those places you can become a member at and get discounts and other things. Maybe the prices are kind of high, but there's a lot of harder to find items. There's a lot in here for plant based eating, as well as for those wanting to eat healthier, and local. Came to get a few things while on a visit and got more than expected. It's bigger than it looks. There's a lot of aisles, and has a good amount of baked goods, along with some pretty fresh produce. A lot of natural and organic items. They have a lot of the Applegate Farms products if you want organic meats and sausage. Of course there's plenty of plant based. They have non dairy items like nut milks and yogurts. In the bakery there was vegan zucchini bread. The prices in here are kind of high, but if you become a member you get coupons and specials. Has to be a stop if you're shopping for organics around here. It's located in the Murdale Shopping Center on West Main Street. There's a ton of things for vegans and vegetarians.

Diebold is a family owned and operated orchard located in Benton, MO. It is south of Cape Gerardeau by 15 or 20 miles. They have tons of produce. Right now they're in peak season for peaches and sweet corn. In fact, I bought 12 ears of corn for $3. They certainly have a surplus of corn hence why you can buy so much for the cheap. The peaches looked ok. I didn't end up buying any since I had gotten some when I went to the farmer's market when I was home in TN over the weekend, but a lot of them that I saw looked like they had some rotten spots on them. I kind of wish they would have sorted through them instead of mixing the bad ones with the good ones. I did purchase some peach preserves and peach mango salsa. They have hoards of different jams, preserves, salsas, sorghum, honey, candies, breads from the bakery, and anything else you can think of that would come from a country store. All reasonably priced items for the most part. I think they overcharged on the honey. Why would you pay $7 for a 6 oz thing of honey? Maybe I am just stingy. They have green houses that outline the country store. I didn't go in there or anything, but they grow different plants ranging from cilantro to sage. I like it. If you're ever in the area it is worth taking a stop to check out.
