Aldi - 4173 Plank Rd. Fredericksburg, VA 22407. A very disgusting practice to allow customers to bring their pets (non-service animals) into the store where people are buying food. A young couple brought their cat through the self-service checkout aisle and kept holding it up in front of the security camera so people could see it (or perhaps take its picture). Then they put the cat on the scale and allowed it to walk around while they bagged the items they purchased. This was very unsanitary as the people behind them had to place their food on the scale. I asked to speak to the manager but the clerk wasn't sure where she was on the floor at that moment. I should have left my food right where I was standing, as I'm sure no one came over with any sanitary wipes to clean off that scale when those people were gone. read more

Don't get me wrong, I love Aldi. I have six children and I have managed to stay in my grocery budget for years thanks to Aldi. The Plank Road one usually has a good selection and good employees. I just got on here to say that I am getting tired of choosing items that are clearly marked down, and then looking at my receipt when I get home and finding out that I was charged full price. With the rising grocery prices, I have learned to keep an eye out for those items that are marked down, either in hand written signs, or now more recently, with their new printed sign system. I thought the new system might help them enter the price into their computer sooner, but its almost worse, to the point I would almost think it's being done on purpose. I have tried watching the cash register as every item goes through, but I am usually busy loading my items onto the the belt and I have young children I have to keep an eye on. I have tried asking the cashier to watch certain items, but they seem to get irritated and I don't often remember to keep track. Checking out is speedy at Aldi as you all know, and for me to get my entire grocery cart loaded up on the belt and not slow down the line means I am pretty busy the entire time the checker is checking my stuff. I know I could bring it back, but then I feel like I would have to prove that the item is marked down, and I just don't have time to make return trips to Aldi all the time. I'd just like to say I think if you mark things down, you need to have some sort of system where it gets put into your computer immediately. I feel like I got ripped off every time this happens. read more

This has quickly become one of my favorite grocery stores in the area due to their low prices on groceries, but also the high quality of their products. The checkouts usually go pretty quickly. There is not a bunch of shopping carts out in the parking lot. The store feels very clean, but also not extravagant. You should definitely shop here if you like saving money while getting good products. read more

I've tried so much to like this Aldi. I've been shopping at Aldi for 13 years now and this past year has been awful. First, the dates are good, yet the food is spoiled, I had a bottle of Tandril laundry detergent smell like someone had taken a dump litterally in the bottle and I did do some laundry only to redo it with Tide. I just had the worst delivery from insta cart. They did not place any plastic bag over my chicken breasts and the package leaked all over my other food. When I complained about it, they said not one word nor did they apologize, and i just now found out my sour cream only had a shelf life of 10 days. A person who I tipped 10.00 for a 40.00 order just did not care in the least how to pull fresh product, then place raw meat in a plastic bag that was there for that reason. I will never have Insta cart shop for me again. I would rather take a cab. It would be cheaper. And no longer an Aldi fan. read more

I love shopping at this Aldi. It is always clean and kept up by employees and management. Not to mention the crowd that shops here is nice to shop with. I always recommend Aldi because of this location. But I will say the Courthouse Road & the Garrisonville Road locations are less appealing. I am so glad that this store is around. I shop here pretty exclusively. I know that I get the best bargain at Aldis. Their prices are very affordable and allows me to buy more groceries than at other stores I have shopped at. The prices for fresh produce is amazing. The only quarrel I have with them is that they don't allow you to use credit for your payment method. Only debit cash or EBT is allowed. Can be a pain if you forget your pin number. You also must remember to bring a quarter with you for the cart. As far as groceries are concerned they are always expanding with new products. I've never been to an Aldi before but it was a great experience! You stick a quarter into your cart to "rent" it (so you have to return it). Their business model is bare bones; so you have to pay for bags, there are crates of food instead of shelves, there is only store brand food (except a few name brand products). They had some large dark chocolate bars on clearance for $0.25; which were delicious. Their fiber bars and bottled water were cheaper than other stores in the area (even when they're on sale at other stores). I'll be coming back! read more

Ok, so this was my first time coming to Aldi. I mean I was ok with what I saw but wasn't like "oh yo thats so tight" or "yooo I GOTTA have that." The real redeeming factors for me were the $3 bottles of wine and the $5 za, like yo you can't miss out on that. I have been shopping at Aldi ever since they opened in the Fredericksburg, Va. area. I have always purchased the Countryside Creamery "Tastes Like Butter". However, after changing the shape of the tub and raising the price, the product has no taste and just sizzles in the pan (I use it to fry eggs) and looks like milk in the pan. What happened? I will certainly not purchase this product again. Otherwise, I love the store and it is certainly more affordably than most other stores in the area. read more
