This location is always pretty busy. They keep the aisles clear for the customers, and helpful when you need assistance. The food typically is fresh, and rarely have I experienced issues with the fruit. The prices are fair, in my humble opinion, and I appreciate the prices a great deal which will keep me a loyal customer. The 'fun aisle' has limited time items, and is always fun to explore. I always end up picking up something I definitely didn't need, but want! Our animals have never had an issue with their food, and appear to enjoy it actually more than the other grocery chain options. Each time I go, I have never experienced the self-checkout lanes but they appear to go really fast. I always have a larger cart, so I use the human cashier each time. They are always kind and make sure items are never broken or smashed. Typically, they are open to small talk and have a gentle demeanor which I enjoy. I see no reason to shop elsewhere, other than other Aldi locations in Southern Wake County, NC. read more

Prices are good on some items, but not handicap accessible. Cashier will not help with getting groceries out of the basket, and if you didn't get a shopping cart you can not use the cart nearby. Employees did not greet customers that come in, some aisles are clean some dirty. This location has a very large parking lot and it's a good thing because more and more people are becoming fans of Aldi, because of their great prices and since they're going GMO free with their products. Just a reminder, this is Trader Joe's brother, just with more mainstream type products and you bag your own as well as pay a 25 cent deposit on the cart that you get back when you put it in the corral. My mom and I have shopped here for the past two or so years I believe. They always have great prices for such great quality food. Forget Walmart! They have the same great foods with different brand names and it's just an overall better deal for it here. Short and sweet: SELECTION - Very limited compared to a regular grocery store. PRICE / STORE BRAND PRODUCTS - Most of the time store brand is just as good as name brand. Not true here...sometimes the store brand is great, sometimes it's terrible. LOCATION - Excellent location near the center of many stores in Fuquay. INSIDE - This store feels like the thrift shop of grocery stores. Bizarre, cluttered layout with no coherent layout. MULTIPLE (SMALL) ANNOYANCES - Paying $0.25 for a shopping cart (Businesses are accepting Bitcoin...Aldi really expects us to lug around a bunch of change?!). If you check pricing......you will find that Aldi no longer provide consistent value. Decent pricing on some items to get you on the door....but for the most part.....they have found the price level that will get you in the door. Aldi' s inventory is terrible. Crowded, messy and if you don't know the protocol, will get snapped at and rushed by the cashier. It's enough to give you anxiety and not worth it. A few off brands might save you a few cents here and there, but at a cost - the quality is lower and tastes terrible. Not to mention it is NOT a one stop shop. You will have to trip it to another store to complete your grocery shopping since inventory is limited. The potential miniscule "savings" do not offset the gas and time needed to head to yet another store to complete your shopping - a store with more options and cashiers that don't rush you. Having lived in Germany and learning to appreciate what I call "no-nonsense" marketing, I felt right at home when I first visited the Fuquay Aldi two years ago. Now I'm a big fan. I could feel the German influence immediately walking down the first aisle. Aldi is basically like a Wal-Mart on a much smaller scale. It is primarily a grocery store with one aisle of "special purchase" items that are always AWESOME deals--anything from clothing, I-pod boomboxes, kitchen appliances to children's toys. They sell mostly private label food items and the quality is very very good. We've not had one item that we have been disappointed in, though if there was, they offer a DOUBLE guarantee on all food -- that is, they refund your money AND replace the product. The shopping cart setup at Aldi is also definitely European. You insert a quarter to use a shopping cart and receive your quarter back via a self--service device (located on each cart) when you return it. Not having shopping cart attendants is just one of many ways Aldi saves on overhead costs and passes on the price savings. Another way is they do not do really large elaborate store displays and most items are actually stored right on the pallets. The fruits and vegetables are significantly cheaper and great in quality, as well as their dairy, meats and frozen items. Staples are also very inexpensive and canned items are almost always cheaper here than I can get them at the commissary at Ft. Bragg, unless I have a coupon. One last thing I love...you can get in and out quickly. Because the store isn't that large, you don't get "lost" or distracted by lots of other departments. Back in 2011, I was traveling all over the country for my employer. The pay was good and the opportunity to visit so many different states was a happy bonus. One of the many surprises that I came across was a little known grocery chain called "Aldi's". I couldn't believe the prices! At that time, they weren't in North Carolina yet so while I had made my wife aware of them she had never had a chance to shop one of their stores. That changed once we moved to Fuquay Varina last year. Once we got moved in She Who Must Be Obeyed decreed that it was time to get groceries. I had noted the presence of an Aldi's in town and couldn't wait to take my wife through. Our first trip resulted in us filling 8 of our large re-usable grocery bags. Now at our usual stores (Walmart and Food Lion) this would cost us about $150-175. My wife was skeptical of us actually saving any money but came around very quickly once they gave us our total....$80.00! While we like to save money (is there anyone that doesn't?) we are not interested in compromising our standards on food quality. Much to our surprise the Aldi's brand products were either comparable to or even BETTER than the name brands! We were floored and have been loyal customers ever since. Their produce always looks and tastes wonderfully fresh, their beef actually has flavor (shocking!) and everything is 20-50 percent off! For years all we could do was complain about high grocery prices but Aldi's has put an end to that. We love this place and hope more people start going there. The best way to get other stores to lower their prices is to shop somewhere else so do yourself a favor and give Aldi's a try. I think you will be pleased. read more

I love Aldi Foods! I shop here first, buy all of my groceries that I can buy there, then go to a second store only if I am buying something that most grocery stores do not carry. They carry items that no others carry. By packing my own groceries, I can categorize my groceries to make putting them up at home easier. I love their meats and fruits and vegetables. I absolutely love Aldi. Shopping there is a different experience than a standard grocery store. It is a quick shopping experience as the store is smaller. The prices are great. Favorite purchases are fruits, vegetables, breads, dairy, cheeses, paper goods and canned goods. And there is the "prize" aisle (I call it) which has all kinds of discounted items which vary each week. The staff is always very friendly. The only thing that I can really say is that Aldi's has some great deals...they are great deals on some less than par products. We recently purchase a pre-package Stir Fry mixture from the frozen food section. After cooking the meal and starting to eat the meal with my family my wife noticed a huge cooked caterpillar on her plate. She instantly got sick and now we will never shop at Aldi's again. Most things I've tried for here have been fine (pantry staples). They don't have everything, so if looking for something specific, you may be out of luck. I enjoy this Aldi. I do most of my grocery shopping elsewhere but I definitely save a few bucks when I stop in here for random items like paper towels, toilet paper, & baby wipes. Almost all the groceries are their store brand, but they have a few name brands interspersed if you look closely- Snicker's 90 calorie mini ice cream bars? Yes, please! It's clean, the lines move fast (on weekdays, at least), and it's cheap. Maybe next time I'll actually remember to bring my own bags (you supply your own). This Aldi location was shockingly poor. We stopped by when visiting my parents to find that the store itself smelled like rotten vegetables. A small bottle of juice that I picked up had an expiration date that was a month old. The Brussels sprouts that we bought looked and felt fine; however, when we opened the bag, a strong stench came out. It is a smell that usually occurs when sealed bags of vegetables get warm.
