Although this Aldi is close to my home, I'm going to find another one. I've heard they grade the cashier's by how fast they check people out. Fast is one thing, but when they are throwing your food in the basket without any care, it's another thing. I came close to going back and getting new bags of chips and bread products because of the rough handling just to make this cashier wait and slow him down. I could somewhat understand if it were busy but no..... Management needs to watch and see if record fast is always the best. My vote is no! read more

This Aldi's is bigger than the Aldi's in Texas City I used to frequent and they have way more selection here. The place is kept clean, no frills shopping. Staff has always been friendly when I come in. My favorites are the different cheese selection (soo good) and their 3.99 candles! Don't forget to grab some good, cheap wine on the way out! read more

I shop here about once a week because some of their products are really good. And cheap. One item I purchase regularly is their traditional red spaghetti sauce. The staff definitely needs some customer service training, in particular a woman named Tammi who is just rude and hates her job. It wouldn't hurt people's impression of her if she cracked that face with a smile. Overall, I'll continue to shop there but avoid Ms. Tammi. Hope she moves on to another job soon. read more

Originally I did not care for Aldi. Yes it has limited options but I have figured it out. No I don't think I could do all my shopping there it I have come to like the quality options they have. I'm more into eating healthier and I am gluten free. This can be expensive but Aldi offers lots of organic and also gluten free items at a bargain price. That alone is worth the trip for me. Lately they have added some nitrate free meats as well. My only gripe is don't expect customer service as most times it's looks like their is only 1 employee working. Check out can be slow. Still I find myself there weekly. read more

Never seen anything like it ~ but there was a definite group of regulars when we visited.. See photos of displays..there were some brands we recognized and we did not see any great values.. Never ever have I stepped foot inside this store, but I needed some cereal, bread, and lunch meat, so I gave the store a quick trip being it was right next to where I was! I was pretty impressed with their simple selections and very clean and organized store! Two boxes of cereal, two packages of lunch meat, loaf of bread, some snack bars and all under $10! Pretty cool! I decided to give aldi a whirl after they sent me a $5 coup in the mail. The store is brand spanking new! Very very clean and well lit. Aldi's claim to fame is low prices. They provide them by making you bring reusable bags (also great for Mother Earth), having you bag your own groceries, utilizing a quarter deposit on the carts (which you get back after returning them to their assigned spot), and carrying mostly their house brand products. Aldi has all the pantry staples you may need. They don't have all the fru fru stuff that the other grocers do, but they have a pretty good spread. They also carry a wide variety of fresh fruits and veggies at reeeallltyyyy low prices (29 cent avocados y'all!) They have an amazing cheese selection, goat, Brie, all of the awesome ones. Milk is super cheap, $1.69 a gallon! They also have seasonal food and houseware offerings. They're usually listed on their website or ad. What I liked about aldi was that I got in and out in record time! Not having 10 types of cornflakes really made my life a lot easier lol. I have been to other Aldi stores in the past, so I knew what to expect when going here. No name brand items - however, as far as produce, milk, and eggs go, it is well worth it to make the extra trip to save some money. They definitely don't have the variety that HEB or Kroger do, but they have all the basics (onions, potatoes, tomatoes, bananas) at a MUCH cheaper price. You have to have a quarter in order to get a cart from the rack, which you get back when you return it. What I love about this idea is that you NEVER see carts littering the parking lot. read more

Some great deals to be had here. I'm familiar with the Aldi concept, so the typical things like the carts, bags, etc weren't surprising. Be sure to bring cash or debit (no credit cards). Their "two buck chuck" style wine (called Winking Owl) isn't a bad choice for cooking wine or cheap party wine at about $3. It's one of the better cheap wines out there! I also found a great deal on vacuum sealed frozen salmon fillets (2 lbs for under $7 when I was there). My gripes with the store: The aisles are a little bit too narrow and people shopping there are either a.) too big or b.) don't know what they're doing and take up the entire aisle while staring aimlessly at the items. I've had trouble actually making my way through the first aisle each time I've shopped here due to other customers just being in the way. They're woefully understaffed at the cash registers. I understand the concept of keeping costs cheap, but they usually have only one register open (even during busy times like 6pm on a weekday evening). Saving a couple of dollars just isn't worth an extra 15 minutes of my time in the checkout line. Aldi is a little more out of my way than a few nearby grocery stores, and it just hasn't convinced me to really change my shopping habits. I like Aldi's. They've taken a concept of the ignored provincial brands (like a Clark bar, or Tom's snacks) and sell them at a reduced price. They also sell leading brand prices at regular prices. The lesser known brands are usually based out of Aldi's Illinois headquarters. However, here's the thing;many of the obscure food and beverage products are produced by the leading distributors . My uncle used to work for a Falstaff brewery (when they were a major distributor) and he would comment on the number of odd varieties of beer labels that were the same as the Falstaff beer coming along the line at various points during the day. What's more, if anyone doubts the quality control of these secondary products, don't forget, these distributors/plants have OSHA/Fda health regulation inspections like the big companies. As an elder, I've spent many years in grocery stores. Aldi's, Kemah, Tx, was a breath of fresh air, clean & organized! They had alot of healthy foods & the prices were reasonable. This store went from "hero at the start of the COVID to zero on a visit today. Employee wearing mask over his mouth only and not covering nose and was argumentative when I told him that didn't work, Carts not clean and stocking was going on before 7 PM and blocking aisles. I have shopped at the Kemah store many times and realize "cheap" comes at a price. Today their checker/manager Tami explained to me and the 8 other customers waiting in line what that price is. My cart was disgustingly dirty so I put two empty boxes in the cart to place my items in. When Tami started to check me out I explained I did not want her to place my items in a dirty cart without using the boxes I had. Her response was to continue throwing my items into the cart telling me they don't have time to place the Items because that was the store policy dictated by the low price. Filthy carts and standing in long lines she ranted was what you get at Aldi .When I tried to put my boxes in the cart she kept tossing more items in until I demanded that she stop and for her to realize that Aldi's customers are the ones to whom she owes her job. She then put my transactions on hold and said she would check out the next in line. When I said I was not accept her obnoxious attitude and would not move until my items were checked out. I managed to install my boxes and while I was trying to put my items in them she continued to toss more items over top of what I was trying to do. I pointed out that the three to five cents per dollar is not worth putting up with waiting in long lines and having been rudely told that this is the way it is at ALDI's. I do most of my shopping at HEB and Krogers but Aldi is the closest and I have a few items they have which I like. Aldi like Walmart has their share of some pretty disgusting customers who let their children run wild and take items off the shelf play with them on the floor and just leave them there and I am not talking about just toys. Items out of coolers like ice cream which the parent just place anywhere open on a shelf rather than return it to the refrigerated cooler. If I am expected to put up with the likes of Tami then Aldi has lost another customer. read more

love this store, glad I found it. Went there and could not believe you can get beautiful quality celery for 39 cents and a gallon of milk for $1.69 along with a pound of real butter $1.69 and also imported wines some straight from the vineyards most for $4-$8. also the store is a good size, where it is big enough for everything you need and small enough you can get out in 3 minutes if just picking up a loaf or bread and gallon of milk. the prices are great, since you sack your own groceries they save on that and cart retrieval since you put a quarter in the slot that is returned when you put the basket back, that saves on labor and sacks ( and recycling is great anyway). I would definitely recommend! just remember no checks, no credit cards, they do not want to add those fees to the bottom line price of goods. read more
