I never come into Aldi the parking alot is always crowded and conjested cars don't let you pass. I decided to stop in wanted to get some fruit and a small container of milk. There produce the prices are decent and the quality of the fruit is good. Aldi is German grocery store chain so you won't find alot of American brand products but from what I am told there merchandise is good. Not a bad ALDI location pretty spacious,they have a nice frozen food section . You get all your favorite ALDI deals. I was there with my toddler son and wife. He enjoyed himself, the only gripe was the long lines. And an inpatient lady customer who had a bad attitude while me and my wife were unloading our cart. Aldi, Valley Stream, NY was my favorite store to shop for snacks and groceries. There is something all shoppers need to watch. Check your receipt for items you did not buy. Today, I found a huge over charge on my receipt for stuff I did not buy, a $17 over charge for 8 lbs of grapes. Watch out for the cashier Gurpreet. Seems to be a sneaky chap. He rushes through processing you at checkout while you are still loading the belt. Hence I missed it. My loss. I was home when I saw the overcharge. Unless the store records the cashier, I cannot prove I did not buy or receive this. Oh well. I've been overcharged on earlier trips too but those were small amounts. Time for me to go to a different Aldi who has self checkout. I won't be cheating myself. read more

I've never been to Aldi, but I had to go in there to get something for my dad. They only had 4 cashiers open out of 10 registers. The lines were to the back & had no under 10 items line. I placed an online order with Aldi, and the ordering process itself was simple and straightforward. However, the pickup experience was frustrating and poorly organized. When I arrived at the store, there was no signage at the front indicating where to go for pickup. Since there's no space to double park in front of the store, I parked in a front spot and used the app to notify them of my arrival, assuming an associate would bring out my order. The app confirmed my notification and advised me to wait while they retrieved my items; but after 15 minutes, no one had come out. I tried to call the store, only to find out there's no direct line to reach individual Aldi locations. With no other option, I went inside to ask for assistance and was told that the pickup area is actually around the back of the store. When I asked why there was no signage in the front, they said the sign is on the side of the building; something that seems completely ineffective, as no one would know to look there in the first place. After driving toward the back, I did finally see the sign. It was a small 8X10 sign that I barely noticed even after looking specifically for it. Once I reached the curbside parking spot I still had to wait another 10-15 minutes before someone brought out my order, despite having informed the staff up front that I was heading around back right away. Overall, while the online ordering process was smooth, the pickup process was unnecessarily confusing and inefficient. Aldi needs to improve their signage and communication to make this a more seamless experience. read more

Subject: Urgent Customer Complaint - Incident at Valley Stream Aldi (750 Sunrise Hwy, NY 11581) Dear Aldi Corporate Team, On Sunday, September 7th, I visited your Valley Stream location at 750 Sunrise Hwy, Valley Stream, NY 11581. While shopping, I encountered a very disturbing situation with one of your employees. As I was walking through the aisles, I noticed a female worker walking alongside me. I stopped to ask her a question, but quickly realized she was not responding. When I looked closer, I saw that she had both headphones in her ears. When I expressed my concern, she turned around and, in a very unprofessional tone, told me she was "on a business store meeting" and then used profanity, including the F-word, directly toward me. This happened in front of other customers. Shocked, I followed her to the register to ask for her name and to speak with the manager. The manager, who was working as a cashier at the time, did not give me the opportunity to properly explain what had happened. Instead, before I could fully speak, his response made me feel dismissed and unwelcome, as if I did not belong shopping in the store. The employee also falsely told him she had said she was "on break," which was not true. This entire interaction left me embarrassed and disrespected in front of other customers. I also want to note that I have video evidence of the encounter. I am reaching out because this experience has left me mentally disturbed and deeply disappointed. I believe no customer should ever be treated this way by store staff or management. I respectfully request that Aldi investigate this incident and take the appropriate action regarding the employees involved. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Definitely not this location! I will try to check out another store and I will only buy if it looks like AldI in Europe. This place looks like a bad, bad Dollar Store (and I do buy crafts at DS). The whole Plaza looked abandoned, I didn't feel safe leaving the car parked for too long. I guess I am expecting to be everything like before Cvd. Stores full of merchandise and workers. One of my favorite grocery stores to shop for my home. I travel from Brooklyn to Long Island because the prices are better. I discovered that both Brooklyn locations tend to overprice certain items by a considerable amount. I always find what I need at this location. What an immaculate location! Definitely bigger, most stocked up, better options and most organized Aldi I have been to yet. I live in Jackson Heights and the closest one is the Aldi on Junction, this Valley Stream location is worth the drive. Parking is ample and free. Bonus part, It's in a complex mall so you have other options if you need anything else. Walmart, Best Buy, Dick's and many more options in case your partner doesn't want to check every single item at Aldi with you lol. Definitely my go-to from now on. read more

This is my 3rd time here, the first being during the height of the pandemic waiting in line in the raid for 30 minutes to get in. Dreadful. However, my last couple of times here I noticed how reasonable the pricing was and how fresh the fruit and veggies are. It's my main reason for coming here. I would typically go to the big warehouse stores where I enjoy the produce, but found myself throwing too much away. ALDI is a great mix of right size and right price. The milk was also half the price of regular supermarkets without having to commit to a gallon. For a single person household, that is great for me. The interior of the store is standard for NY metro areas, making the most of the space but not so tight where you constantly bumped carts. They have enough available in food selections to be able to do much of your shopping here, but noticeably missing were beets. That's right, not a popular item so I'll have to stop somewhere else to get the rest of the ingredients for a good fresh juice, but I will definitely return in spite of that. Agreed with the reviews here. The store is good. Definitely great prices. Love their organic options. You have to have a quarter for the shopping cart which drives me nutty but it is in a weird area I guess and they can't risk losing carts. Must have your own bags but a lot of stores are charging you for bags. This is no different. I just really don't like the way they toss your stuff in your cart and the people at the registers have terrible terrible attitudes. I'm sure it comes from dealing with difficult people but you can't take it out on everyone. Managers need to retrain or rehire. This is my third time going. I won't go back if I have to deal with such ignorance and attitude. read more

This is my first Aldi experience. It opened a couple of days ago so not all of the frozen section is stocked. Some things i learned. Its similar to a bjs/costco. No bags. You will need a quarter in order to use shopping cart. I did not so i used one from Home Goods. The prices looked good! The cellphone service was horrible. it's great having aldi close by and this location seems better stocked than some others, but the gluten-free options have definitely diminished since they opened. i still come for cereal, mac & cheese, pasta, chocolate, and produce (all gluten-free). don't forget the quarter for a shopping cart, and probably best to come to this location in the day time. read more

This is the second Aldi i've been to. Compared to the one upstate (in Oneonta) that I visited, this one is much newer and has better lighting. There are a lot of arrows now to guide shoppers to socially distance. The store is always busy since it shares a parking lot with other places such as Home Goods and Burlington Coat Factory. Parking has never been a problem. There's always a spot, even if it means a little bit more of a walk. There's a good supply of all the "hot items" from FB and Instagram Aldi page such as their RBC (Red bag chicken in the frozen aisle), aisle of shame items which are their new items, peanut butter cups, and lobster dip. My only wish would be for their garden/plant section to be better. The flowers here always look sad and are falling apart. Lines move pretty quickly here because of the Aldi policy. Check out and then pull your cart to the front of the store to bag your own items. Definitely try their churro cookies! read more

I've been here a few times and wanted to write this review after confirming that multiple times the staff is extremely rude. The staff is not friendly and are always upset. I noticed someone cleaning the floors yelling at customers to move for 10 minutes instead of politely asking. I also noticed employees slamming stuff and when asked a question they try to ignore you. After finally tracking down 2 different people they said they don't know and to ask someone else. Not to mention the rude cashiers as well. Overall terrible customer service which is upsetting since the store has good finds and prices. Unfortunate that there is no stock checker as well so if you expect to find something online in the store then goodluck, you also can't call the store to ask. I have found some nice flowers here for decent prices which is the only reason why I'm not giving it 1 star. read more

I love ALDI - the products, selection and prices are stellar BUT just like anything in the Green Acres Mall area, it is hurt by the awful clientele. Before this ALDI opened I travelled to Brooklyn to shop there and it was fine. I thought it was great actually until they did an upgrade and it went downhill. All of a sudden the aisles were narrowed, everything seemed poorly lit, it was crowded and awful. Then VS ALDI opened. Everything was fine until the worst possible people in the world started shopping there. You can find these people by the following traits: - Pushing the cart while on the phone - Leaving the cart on line while still shopping - Seemingly negotiating the price at the register - Attempting to cut the line and then act as though they don't understand the English that they were speaking while on the phone To those who complain that they need to 'pay' for the carts, The quarter for the cart is very European and it helps keep the carts from straying throughout the parking lot. It isn't about the money, it's about the laziness of people. Bottom line: ALDI deserves 5 stars but the people who shop there being it down to three. read more

Came here to buy some groceries on a budget. My family raved about this supermarket so I decided to give it a try. It was a breeze on a Tuesday morning to shop here. I didnt have to pay for the cart not sure why but i got a cart no problem. They have mostly their own brands and few major brands of food. The prices are phenomenal and they have all your necessities. The supermarket wasn't too crowded which was nice. They dont bag your groceries which is annoying. However, thats how they keep their prices so low. Just make sure to check the sodas before you purchase them. My boyfriend tried to open the coke bottle and he said it seemed open and the soda was flat. I would come back again. Just make sure to bring your own reusable bags. read more

Aldi's is fairly new to our neighborhood but I'm familiar with this chain from my visits to Delaware. You can expect some great finds, fresh selections, many oddities or upscale items at a reasonable price. During COVID they had a cart person at the door who welcomed you to Aldi's used antibacterial wipes to make sure you felt safe using the cart and wished you a good day with a smile. It's been a long, long time since a supermarket or box store wished me a good day and meant it. Lately because of the pandemic I've decided to use Instacart to shop at Aldi's and elected their delivery option. Each time I received my order before the delivery time with all my selections or approved replacements and the delivery person has always been friendly. I love the many store brand options at reduced prices because Im convinced they are the name brand with a new label, so I get the same great products for less than I would spend on the name brand. This is the first time we've shopped at this particular store. They were completely out of meat but it was after 5:30 pm on May 12, 2020 We probably need to shop earlier. The prices were really good, we had been to a grocery store close to our home earlier and the meat prices were outrageous. We did have one issue that know one in management wanted to deal with. There was a cashier sitting at register 5 (she wasnt wearing a name tag, unlike the other cashiers) with her light off chatting with several co-workers. My son tried to go to her register but I saw the light was off but I asked if she was open. She was pretty rude and snotty when she said "Do I look like Im open". I ignored the nasty cashier and waited to be directed to an open register Another woman and her teen daughter tried to cut in line but we explained the line was behind us. The mother walked over to the rude nasty cashier at register 5, the cashier told her to come in her line. My daughter walked over to the lady directing shoppers to registers and told her the mom & daughter at register 5 cut in front of us plus the 3 people behind us. They didn't care, Im assuming because they were the same race. We went to register 7 and I asked for the manager, Jhennelle said there wasnt a manager in the store. She rung us up quickly and we left. I won't be going back there because we are definitely the minority and the cashiers definitely prefer their own race when ringing up customers. read more

The cashiers are very very very unprofessional, inpatient & always appear to be upset, slamming food items on the counter &. rushing customers. Is there any/ongoing training for the staff???? I understand there is Covid Chaos and all but I was the third person in line this morning waiting at the door, sure no problem with allowing seniors to shop first yet the line got so long before they even opened the doors that when they opened the doors people were pushing and shoving to get in (people who were not seniors) and nobody was there to help with the line etc. I don't use a cart and use my own shopping bag and the rude lady at the door yelled at me to walk "you ain't gettin no wipe you don't have a cart!" Which was very rude, I go in and I hear people fighting already. I hear a cashier yelling back at a customer and I mind my own buisness, then I get in line and maintaining a good 10 feet because their registers are very long..... there is a man paying and I start to put my items on the belt (AGAIN IM AT THE OTHER END OF THE REGISTER) and the cashier disrespectfully tells me to hold up and wait and take a moment, sucking her teeth and all. I will not be back at this Aldi location and rather pay a few extra bucks and get treated like a human. Again I understand the chaos during this time but it was literally the beginning of the day. If a bunch of rude employees at a supermarket are acting this way- how should doctors and nurses be acting??? Then they have a better right to just start being a-holes to the world. My order was missing items and had other ones I did not order. I never got a receipt and they did not state that a tip was already added. I called Aldi and they said to call instacart. Instacart said to call Aldi. If I don't get a receipt emailed to me a I will dispute the charge since I won't kbowvthat I am paying for. This ALDI opened up right around the time COVID hit several months ago. I enjoy coming here. The produce is always fresh and their products are always in stock. Staff is always pleasant and eager to help. I only wish their Vegan options weren't so limited. There are quite some new vegan options I see arrive in the ALDI weekly circular, but sadly never seen in stock such as the vegan Mac and cheese and vegan ravioli. I still give this place a five-star! They work hard and have managed to keep a great upkeep during the pandemic. read more

I love, love, love, love, love, love, loooooove Aldi's! I went to my first location some years ago when they opened a spot in the Bronx close to my parents. I initially found them strange because first, you have to deposit a quarter to get access to their shopping carts. But when I think about it, it makes sense. This is a great way to cut down on people taking their shopping carts and leaving them god knows where to never return them for others to use. If you want your quarter back, return the cart where you go it. It makes sense to me. Second, their stores don't seem crammed with food. Their layout appears more open/spaced out. Their offerings are not as much in comparison to other supermarkets, but I find what they have to be of great quality. Especially their produce. There is nowhere else I've been able to find organic food items for such affordable prices! Once I checked out the Bronx location more, I could't shop at Whole Foods like I used to; and I started to cut back on Trader Joe's. So imagine my shock and overwhelming happiness/relief to find that its here in my backyard in Green Acres mall. Guess where most of my food shopping money goes? LOL. Granted there are still a few items that I will have to get at the other stores like Keyfoods or Walmart. For example, ethnic items that I miss from my Caribbean island home like ripe plantain, specialty meats/cheeses, baked goods, etc. But for the basics, especially if you are trying to be healthy - they are great! I love Aldi's for the affordable fruits, vegetables, seafood and meats (some organic) which I get for way less there than at other stores. And their brands in deserts, cereals, and so on taste pretty dang close to the so called "real thing" (big brands). My money goes waaaayyyy further there than at plenty other food stores. Absolutely! And this also rings true with some of the big store bands that they also carry that I sometimes buy. And last, I get consistent great customer service from the cashiers to their colleagues working the floor. For example, on one of my first shopping trips there, I did not have a quarter to get a cart, so this employee gave me one so I could get a cart to do my shopping. Horrible shopping experience. You need to pay for shopping carts outside, then retrieve your quarters by pushing it back into the cart lane outside. Cashiers don't bag for you, just dump or throw items in your bag. Military like organization, need to push someoneles's cart out of the way at checkout and place yours in a specific spot. Very confusing and frustrating. The checkout process is horrible, you are pushed to get your money out before everything is totalled, so they can get you out quicker and out the door. They are timed between customersa nd graded by every second, so you may think that it's nice that they're sitting, but if you watch they are instructed to use robotic hand like gestures when scanning, so it goes faster.They are a company based in Germany. The ads and sales signs are confusinge. So you often have to double check your receipt, especially with produce. read more

Terrible, RACIST employees! My mother and a neighbor, both Hispanic women, were shopping together and were on line at the register. The neighbor was checking out first and was paying for her groceries that included 6 gallons of milk which is the limit per customer for milk. At that moment the cashier saw that my mother also had 6 gallons of milk in her groceries and immediately told her that she could not buy the milk. When asked why, she said that the lady before her ( the neighbor) had already purchased the limit. My mother said that the two were buying seperate groceries and that what the lady was buying had nothing to do with her. The cashier insisted she would not ring up my mother because she and her neighbor had been speaking to each other in Spanish and HAD to be retated. My mother asked for the manager and he came over and the cashier told him that the two ladies were related because they both spoke Spanish and she would not ring up my mother's groceries. At that moment, my mother decided to leave the groceries at the register and her neighbor was outraged enough to do the same. NOT EVERYONE WHO SPEAKS SPANISH IS RELATED! It was incredibly offensive and embarrassing to be treated like she was trying to "cheat" the grocery store. This happened in front of many other shoppers and unfortunately, no one else spoke up against this kind of treatment. read more
