Original receipt showed $96 and change. After CC was ran and brought back the new receipt showed $99 and change. Not the end of the world, but we won't be back.

The customer service was attentive and the food was at the same quality level as the locations that are established. I stopped by for lunch on a Saturday, I took a spot at the corner of the bar. I was quickly greeted and offered an adult beverage. They presented my menus, but I knew the offerings and knew what I wanted, but I enjoyed my craft beer for a while before ordering. For a appetizer, I chose their Boneless Wings with a Garlic Parmesan sauce. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat all 12 pieces, so I now have a work lunch. My entree was their pizza special which gave me a side salad and a 8" two topping pizza. My go to topping are always, Italian Sausage and Jalapeños. I absolutely love Joe's sauce and the fast that he uses Mozzarella cheese. I am also thrilled that he does not skimp on his toppings. I left 3 slices for tomorrows lunch, too. Godfrey is my usual Joe's location, but I will also frequent this location. This location is located in Eastgate Plaza which is quickly becoming a popular restaurant and entertainment complex. It is going to be the place to go.

I'm giving this Aldi's 5 Stars. It is always clean and well organized. The staff is hard working…read moreand helpful when the customers need assistance shopping the aisles. The cashiers are speedy scanning the items and putting them back into one of the rented carts. The canned goods are a great value. I've even found multiple quality products in the freezer department. The cheeses and deli meats are quality for the price. When everyone was complaining about egg prices, they were still affordable here at Aldi's and they're still a deal. Meats are acceptable. Just be aware of what you are making and select the cut of meats accordingly. A trip down the aisle that has unexpected Aldi finds, is always an experience. This time of year, you just might find a holiday gift or two at an amazing price. I follow a group on FB called, Aldi Aisle of Shame. It highlights what shoppers have found in that aisle and what they really like. Remember, always have a quarter to rent your shopping buggy and plenty of reusable bags to do your own bagging. Doing those two things helps you save money and it is worth it.

Yet another difficulty with the dysfunction between the Instacart platform of the Aldi's app and…read morethe store. I ordered an item for pickup. I only ordered it because it was available for order; duh. When I went to pick it up at 945 for my 10 am pickup I noticed a substitute notification sent at 915. I had exactly a half hour to see it and reply, except I didn't see it in that timeframe. But...then I saw another notification ONLY TEN MINUTES LATER that told me the window of substitution had closed. The item substituted was $3.00 more and besides I already had it at home. They gave me only ten minutes. I tried to message the shopper to say I didn't want it, but it said the system could not send a message at that time. When they brought my order out, she said because the substitution window had closed, I couldn't get a refund. So I'm just screwed because they had something for sale...and the item, Wagyu ground beef for $4.99 a pound, is STILL showing available right now, but they don't have actually HAVE any available for sale. How incredibly annoying. The store NEVER takes responsibility for the curbside orders, NEVER, not ONE TIME It's always the customer's problem to have to sort out with the app, and you can imagine what a joyless task THAT is. You can't call the store and you can't call a customer service #. The problem isn't the app. Walmart has an app they built themselves that isn't based on Instacart and has multiple points of communication and redress. They make mistakes, too, but they take responsibility for them and don't just let the customer lump it. I get that; mistakes happen but how well one navigates them determines how serious a company is about the actual quality of their customer service. Walmart is serious, Aldi's is NOT. And Walmart charges me the same price in store or pick-up, Aldi's charges me a fee, Walmart doesn't for orders over $35, and Walmart doesn't charge me for bags, Aldi's does, and Aldi's charges up to 10% more for pickup items than in-store prices, and then gives me worse customer service despite charging me more for the privilege of being their customer, not in ONE way, but in THREE DIFFERENT WAYS! And Schnucks uses the Instacart platform for its curbside pickup app, doesn't charge a fee for orders over $25, charges me the same price in or out, and can replace and refund items, and they use THE SAME DIGITAL PLATFORM. So the excuse that it's "the app's fault" is BS. I don't blame the employees, they're just playing the cards they were dealt, but the company policy was designed to fail customers and fail it does. The employees are GREAT, polite and efficient. But I'm only writing this review because this is the fourth time this is happened since the last negative review I wrote that was for the exact same issue, that they continue to ignore. So they don't seem to have any intention to fix it. I'll still shop here but I'm going to get every possible item I can get from elsewhere. By keeping my orders few and far between I'll be risking fewer inconveniences. And don't forget the needless extra expense! Groceries cost 30% more than they did five years ago when we all started using curbside pickup during the pandemic! They've had FIVE YEARS to refine their platform and have chosen NOT to, even though grocery profits are currently higher than they've been since 2007! They can't claim they aren't making enough money to be able to provide industry standard customer service! Disappointed in Aldi's. Again.

My first visit I kinda went hog wild and stuffed myself. Being a farm boy, I always have to try Biscuits and Gravy. I did a half order, which was a single biscuit. I had mine to go, so it was packaged in a Eco-Friendly To-Go Vessel. The biscuit was wrapped in foil and the milk gravy was in a separate container. Once I assembled it, it was a winner. The biscuit was fluffy and the milk gravy had a fair amount of sausage crumbles and was seasoned perfectly. It made this old farm boy happy. My other treat was a, Bacon Egg Boursin Croissant. It was a true meal in itself. There was plenty of bacon, the eggs were done perfectly and the Boursin made the breakfast sandwich sing. Seriously, I would have never thought to add Boursin to a breakfast croissant and I have it in my icebox all the time. After sampling a savory treats, I had to have something sweet. My sweet treat was their Cinnamon Roll. OMG! I am thankful I do not live closer, because if I did, I'd be having one of these delights daily. I love the open concept of seeing the kitchen. It's always fun to watch you food being prepared. The staff is friendly and makes everyone feel welcomed. With all the experience and connections that LaNae and A.J. have with other businesses; Duke's, Tony's Ranch House, Gentelin's and all the way back to Wimpy's, you know the food is going to be good. I wish them success and recommend you go give them a try.

Cafe LaNae apparently has been open about a year (as of this writing) so I went in because I was meeting someone for a Facebook Marketplace purchase. I didn't plan to be very long. I purchased an iced coffee for $7 plus a tip. After confirming my order twice (sugar-free mocha syrup), they brought me a sugar-free vanilla drink. Oh well, no biggie...It wasn't the best, but I'm not staying long. I have specific dietary metrics that I manage, so while waiting for the person I was looking for, I pulled out a muffin my wife got me that met those metrics. I took maybe three bites out of it while waiting. Quickly, I noticed one of the owners hovering over my table to see what I was eating, and within 30 seconds, the other owner came over and told me I'm not allowed to bring any food into the place. She tried to smile and act like it was no big deal, saying, "I'll allow it THIS time". Gee thanks! I tried to explain my situation and the fact that I had already purchased a drink and was planning to leave, and she talked over me, expressing once more not to do it again. I elected to leave after pondering her words for a few minutes. I understand the profit margins for these places are razor thin and I would not want people bringing in their own meals, but I bought a drink, tipped, and took two bites out of something that was mine that met my diet. This place is more of a brunch/lunch fast-casual Greek-style place. Nothing they had on their menu would have met my diet, at least not even for a couple of bites which I didn't think was a big deal. I won't return. Not after that experience.
