There's a large outdoor seating area and limited seating inside with a few tables seating 4/5 and a long table through the middle of the deli. The staff are attentive and they made insanely good coffees (in addicted to their chai lattes). The menu has something for most tastes- big platters featuring locally sourced meats and cheeses, focaccias, salads and cakes to name a few. Prices are pretty standard, some may think the platters a bit overpriced but they are actually very filling. These guys are very passionate about supporting businesses on the Fleurieu Peninsula and in SA. So many of my favourite producers feature on the menu- say cheese, Four winds chocolate, swell beer, dawn patrol coffee roasters, spice girlz and fine and dandy Teahouse. It's the perfect place to kick back with a coffee, have a long lunch or a sneaky wine (because it's attached to Wirra Wirra, one of the best wineries going around). Great for catching up with friends or alone to do some study or paper work. The breakfasts are expertly prepared and don't disappoint. I like the offering of fresh local salad greens with brekky, from the famed bickfords organics who also have a stall at the farmers market. They are second to none and add a nice piquancy to the palate. Perfect with eggs! If you are after a big Aussie style of brekkie it's not here or it will cost a fair bit with all the extras! There is also a scarcity of bread with the breakfast here I have noted, and perhaps this is a french thing? But there is definitely not enough to mop up that lovely egg juice, and then I reason, "less carbs my girl! You will survive another day!" And I do! The coffee is good but can be patchy on occasion. You forgive them because they are so sweet and we all want them to succeed! There are definitely not enough good looking sweets on offer to have with coffee or tea but, these are new owners and they are bound to hit their strides soon enough.

I'm afraid that a super-long wait for a fairly basic meal last Friday night has made me downgrade them slightly to 4 stars. I think what has happened is that they are super busy, but just don't have the staff to cope with the orders. The staff who are there are lovely - but they need at least one more in the kitchen, and another on the floor. Oh, and they obviously need a larger pizza oven! What worries me is that they have spent a lot of money on upgrading the verandah area, and have also renovated upstairs - how can they service these extra people??? I just wish I'd known about their reputation when I went there because I am quite partial to a good serve of Pad Thai. There's just a few tables here but they face onto the street and it's a great spot to watch the world go by on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I will be going back here very soon for a Thai meal. I've come here a couple of times because it's the only cafe close to my grandparents house. This cafe is gorgeous, well decorated and cozy. The impression I got from my outings here suggested it was a pleasant half-way stop, where people simply walked in with their family during Fleurieu Peninsula travels. Now, I've had a fair few milkshakes in my time, but these are the most amazingly frosty and tasty milkshakes ever! They're not like your typical Wendy's teenager who will sparingly give just enough chocolate topping to stop it tasting like plain milk. Anyway, the food. We shared two servings of fresh scones with jam and cream, all of which was fantastic. The scones were freshly baked (still warm) and they weren't frugal on the amount of jam and cream either (big pet peeve of mine). The saltiness of the mash overpowered the delicate flavours of the apricot and stuffing, but it was still a good meal. Chicken was tender and I had the happy feeling at the end.
