    Haffner Joseph Attorney at Law

    Haffner Joseph Attorney at Law

I have utilized Mr. Haffner on six separate occasions, all real estate transactions. He his…read morefantastic. I have used him to represent me as both a buyer and a seller. On the transaction in which I was the seller, the buyer's attempted to squeeze an extra $3,000 out of me for inspection issues. Because I just didn't want to be bothered, I was willing to give it. Mr. Haffner took control of negotiations and refused the request and he ended up saving me $3,000. On another deal, in which I was the buyer, sellers tried to cancel the contract outside attorney approval, due to the sller's receiving other offers for a higher sales price than the one agreed upon. Shame, shame. Someone needs to gain a better understanding of contract law. You can't just kick out a contractually bound party because a better offer came your way. In any event, seller's attorney tried his best, and it wasn't good enough. I had real estate law on my side and I wholly planned to litigate those seller's, their agent, their agent's brokerage, and seller's attorney. He had the audacity to call my agent and offer to refund my inspection fee and literally said to my agent, "just sell the deal to her." As if my agent would give me shitty advice on his behalf. Instead of a "pacified" party to a failed contract, all his phone call to my agent did was release the kracken! The fact is, the property in question, has already provided real equity and I haven't even closed on it. I know this by the seller's very real attempts to cancel this contract. And, as a cherry on top, while these bozos were messing about, mortgage rates dropped and I am getting an even sweeter deal! However, I would not be reaping the benefits I am without Mr. Haffner's expertise and rapid fire responsiveness. So, if you are looking for a good real estate attorney that will get you to the closing table (or not, depending upon your needs), this is your man.

In a span of a week, without us changing anything, they were cancelling and rebooking our appt for the same date/time. They were a nonshow to our scheduled appoinment TWICE. We had to call them and finally had a consultation. After the conference call, our consultant informed us they would email us information etc. Nothing arrived within 48 hrs. No confidence. We went with another firm.

Figured it would help streamline things since they handled everything we were going to have to deal with. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Marty was sorely lacking in communication and follow through. It took a couple of months just to email us a statement of our account to see if there was a balance due or a refund so we could settle up since we had already hired another lawyer. He did end up apologizing and taking responsibility for the poor communication in the email in which he sent the final statement. So I guess that's better than not recognizing it at all. He completed just the initial steps of everything that he agreed to complete from our initial meeting with him and our new lawyer has completed pretty much everything in half the time for a fraction of the price.

In each legal documents I received, they'll point out the outstanding statements I have to be aware of or make response. Initially I spot several problems during home inspections, they helped me writing legal documents over all negotiations with seller side in very clear and powerful style and managed to protect my rights. Later on I was told the condo building was undergoing some lawsuits which might affect future price, they stood in my place and helped me analyze the unexpected situation so I'm able to make proper decision. They'll not charge full price if the deal is not successfully closed, even due to uncontrollable causes from third party. I think I would be fully at a loss and become frustrated without their help, and I would thanks again for their accompany during the whole home purchasing process.
