I did not do business with Ms. Culver. However, her website says that you should feel free to contact her and begin a consultation. I sent a detailed account of my traffic incident. She never told me my options she requested a legible copy of my ticket. She never replied with a friendly hello, good morning and explained why she needed that information. Then two days later she called me and left a message. I really didn't think I should call her back because she didn't seem interested or perhaps just too busy. I decided to call anyway thinking that maybe she might actually have time to give me a consultation. Instead, the only words she said was, (still no Hello, or any pleasantries) "My firm would be able to help you but it would be for $500.00." She knew that it wasn't worth that for a traffic violation. I told her I wasn't interested. She may be a straight to the point type of person which is fine and could be very helpful if you are being accused of doing something serious. It just depends on what's important to you. Terrie is the second real estate lawyer I have had a chance to work with. My previous lawyer was sloppy and managed my real estate transactions more like an assembly line worker ... which is to say, not very well. So, when I started looking for an investment property, I wanted to try a new lawyer who would pay more attention to detail and ensure that all my liabilities are properly managed. Aside from the positive yelp reviews, what attracted me to Terrie was that I would be working directly with her instead of a secretary or associate. I had interviewed other lawyers who were eager to talk to me to sign me up as a new client but also reluctantly divulged that they may not be personally working on my file themselves (lawyer speak for ... no). The only downside I saw with her was that I would still be paying her a fraction of her fee if a deal fell through whereas some of her competition waves their fee (especially true in cases where a secretary was going to do all the work). However, it seemed fair to me since she would be putting her time and effort into every deal from the very beginning. 3 deals that I backed out of later, I was finally able to close on a new investment property on the 4th try. During the entire process, I was very happy with the personal engagement I was getting from Terrie and I got the impression that she actually read all the legal documents that came her way from the seller. Even after the deal was completed, Terrie made herself available to answer more questions and to help me with a few legal matters that needed to be documented in writing. I know that for any future real estate deal on the buyer or seller side and for any legal advice I need related to tenants, I will be working with Terrie. Small piece of advice to anyone in the midst of making an offer, have Terrie review your deal before the final signature goes out.
