I was researching IBE (Invisible Bead Extensions) stylists in south FL after having a pretty bad "first timer" experience with another stylist. Fed up after multiple visits to the alleged "dream weaver" to try to correct them from falling off my head and hurting me, I quit that salon and checked out the IBE Stylist Locator on the website. I decided that I was only going to to look for the best of the best this time, only stylists who have advanced training, because I knew these IBEs had the potential to make me feel super confident and beautiful. I just needed an expert. So I filtered on Master Technicians and Elite Artists and found my Sheila who was listed as the ONLY IBE ELITE STYLIST IN ALL OF SOUTH FLORIDA and, without hesitation, I contacted her. I had to attend an out of state wedding and really wanted my hair to be long, blonde and beautiful but figured with such short notice there would be no chance of getting an appointment. You can imagine my excitement and relief when Sheila got back to me right away and graciously squeezed me into her busy schedule for color and IBE move-up in the timeframe I needed. :) Holy moly guys, she nailed it! Not only did she secure the IBEs with superior stitching, which is super important, she also gave me the most beautiful blonde color I've ever had! And I've been coloring my hair since I was an awkward string bean of a teenager. This was the first time my blonde was blended near my hairline and not streaky and the color was warm and bright like a Cali beach babe. To top it off, Sheila is the sweetest, kindest person I've ever met and made me feel so comfortable (I can be a odd duck sometimes, ya know?) so the conversations and laughs just flowed. To summarize, if you're skimming...if you're looking for your forever stylist, then stop here. Sheila Papillion at Salon Edge in Boca is the best of the best! My hair wouldn't grow in the middle. I tried shampoos, vitamin supplements, treatments. Nothing really worked. The stress of not being able to figure it out or always having to wear clip ins wasn't helping. In Feb 2020 I got my first set of extensions and my confidence in the way my hair looked forever changed , so much so that my hair started growing between not stressing over it and the liquid collagen supplement I have been taking it worked, my hair was growing and getting fuller. The photos speak for themselves. The invisible bead method did not damage my hair at all, it didn't make me lose hair, my hair has gotten thicker and has grown so much. Nobody can tell I have extensions because the hair is great quality and blends perfectly with my own (texture and color) and the invisible bead method it's placed with is truly invisibile. He proceeded to tell me my natural graying/silver hair was bad for business and was unattractive for someone my age (early 40s). He continued to make fun of me and told me I looked like the guy from lord of the rings (gandolf). Next he proceeded to cut 5 inches, instead of my stated 1-2 inches, off of my beautiful long hair. Afterwards he put some product in my hair and began blow drying it. A lot of smoke was coming off my hair as he was blow drying it. He was very aggressive with the blow dryer and the heat burnt my scalp a few times. On my way home I kept getting whiffs of my hair that smelled overwhelming like perm or wet dog. Normally I don't wash my hair for several days after a blow out but the smell was unbearable. As soon as the shower water hit my hair the smell intensified. I shampooed several times. I came out of the shower and numerous hairs on my head were breaking off at the scalp and my darker hair had lightened and looked brassy. Meanwhile my scalp was burning and continued to itch and tingle over the course of two weeks. I did some research that suggested my hair was burnt by the intense heat from Izzy's blow dryer or there was some chemical solution built up on his round brush that was transferred to my hair. Over the course of two weeks I used baking soda, apple cider vinegar and charcoal shampoo to get rid of the smell. The smell wouldn't go away and my hair continues to break off. I still have a mild lingering odor of wet dog/perm coming from my hair. This salon clearly caters to an older clientele with short artificial blonde-colored hair, as that was the predominant clientele while I was there. I came in with long dark hair with 4-5 inches of natural beautiful silver/gray hair that I was growing out. Izzy told me I was bad for business because I wouldn't color my roots and he thought my hair was too long. What I choose to do with my hair is none of his business. I asked for a trim. Instead I was treated with rudeness and he chose to cut as much off of my hair as he wanted. Then he proceeded to burn my hair. Whether this was extreme negligence or partially intentional, I would think twice before you go to this salon.

Blonde is so many different shades. The highlights are chunky to the root. Some half inch from root. Looks so messy. Ppl even commented how bad my color looked. looks like a terrible blonde partial highlight. NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. My hair was fragile. Him adding all these extra blonde highlights made it worse. Hence the newly opened hairful studios located within the Pheonix salon suites in Polo Club. As soon as you go in the main entrance of Pheonix turn right, walk past a couple suites and youll see hairful studios on the left side. The place is decorated beautifully. Lots of plants, natural green and wood decor, and even a studio goldfish. Amanda is the color guru. she has been keeping my blonde bright for years now. She does an awesome job, always recommends great products for me to use for home care, and is also an avid traveler. I love chatting with her about her past and upcoming adventures! Cat is the styling queen. She handles my haircuts, blow outs, etc. She does a great job styling and also speaks the truth when bouncing ideas off about my style and cut. aka the "should i get bangs" convo haha They play fun music and *best part* they have a mini frige with white claw from time to time. Get clawed up while getting glowed up? YES PLEASE If your looking for a new colorist or stylist I couldn't recommend Amanda/Cat and their new business Hairful studios enough!

I really like the results, I'm going to post pics. They also do facals, waxing, makeup and massage. I've had massages from Damen (the massage therapist) before though not at Mario & Co and he is excellent! Highly recommend. Everyone who works there is very nice, courteous and respectful. All in all, a great visit. The salon is new and very aesthetically pleasing. They are having their grand opening this Sunday. It's right near the beach on east Palmetto. I highly recommend going, especially since they have a special right now, 50% off everything! What are you waiting for?

I've been going to Mario for a long time. I've never been unhappy until my last visit. I went in…read moreasking for the same silver-blonde color he had done on my previous visit. Instead of that, he used the wrong color on my hair. When he washed it out, it was half yellow and half silver. He had accidentally put in a color we used previously, over a year ago. He admitted he made a mistake, I was very polite, and just asked if he could please fix it for me. Four hours later, my scalp was so severely burnt I had to see a doctor. I have blisters and scabs covering my entire head, and my hair is still a very strange and unnattractive yellow/blue color. He ruined my shirt with bleach during the service which he had to have noticed (it was on my back, clear as day) and chose not to tell me. When these concerns were voiced to Mario, he was extremely rude, cold and unprofessional. He said I had "some nerve to come bitching to him" when I get a discount. $200 for ruining my scalp, shirt, and my hair is not a discount. When I called back to try and get my money, he hung up on me. I will be seeking legal advice for all the damage he has caused. I now have to see a dermatologist and have treatments done to try and save my hair and scalp. I would suggest going ANYWHERE but here. Please see my attached pictures.
