Kristine T Norris, MD - Kristen Norris-Psychiatric Doctor, unprofessional!

Only three stars because this is a bit misleading. Dr. Norris is not in practice by herself. She is…read morejust one of a group of a group of women psychiatrist (Do they have more than one token male yet?) practicing under the marquee of "Tucson Outpatient Pshchiatry" off Camp Lowell at Swan Road. Dr. Norris sounds wonderful. From the reviews that I've read on different review platforms she is the only one in that - place - that might be at least decent. Therein lies the rub. It's the lack of decency due to a very low bar in regards to the abject lack of compassion that has been demonstrated to someone deep in one of the worst kinds of crisis that the sudden death of a parent can cause. From the day I let the individual* whose "care" I have been engaged in, that person ignored my every cry for help. Nada. Crickets. So no. No Tucson Outpatient Psychiatry does not deserve to ride Dr. Norris's coat tails and get a rating above 3.5. As it was alluded to by the representing individual just referenced, the, and this her term, "powers that be" put strict limits on their groups autonomy. It's the price they pay for working in the field of psychiatry and only having to work 9 to 5 with no overtime, weekends off and their consciousness turned off. Nice. For them, not the patient. * I just can't bring myself to say, "Doctor" because of the whole Hippacratic Oath thing that whoever is "Behind the curtain." probably finds most annoying more than a guiding principle.

Absolutely one of the best experiences I have had with a physician! I've been familiar with Dr…read more Norris and her practice for years and am long overdue for a review. She's kind, attentive, and really goes out of her way for the patients and families she serves. Her osteopathic training gives her an additional edge on whole-person health and structure-function relationships, which are so important in mental health.

About 2 and a half months ago I started to experience anxiety and panic attacks I was not good after a few visits to the ED I became suicidal and ended up in a behavioral health facility at Banner medical care. Now this is all new to me I had been undergoing treatment for years so l believed that was enough it was not. They recommended IOP. When they talked to me about Sonora Behavioral Health I was hesitant to follow up on this idea but I am so excited and thrilled that I did follow up in retrospect it was the best decision I had made in a very long time. I have always been a very negative person and when I got there it was noticeable I had a few discussions with the staff it was a 30 day PHP program and it was very different from the way I was living life. It opened me up to emotions I hadn't been using in my life before great ones like happy, joy compassion, it was working and I was working hard too. All the staff at Sonora were amazing we worked very closely together small groups every week met with Dr. Bupp once a week I was making great progress. That's when I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Evelyn Tovar the new director at Sonora and a light came on and it all started to make sense my attitude was changing my thoughts started to change and we were doing yoga 2 days a week along with class work. I realized that mindfulness, meditation were real and that I finally found what I needed to move forward in my life it felt scary and confusing so I asked for another stay after my first thirty days and was granted another stay it put me over the stump I had been living under for so long. I could honestly say that I was on my way to a better life I'm now out and I'm using the skills I learned from there mindfulness and radical acceptance help me now navigate my daily life also I haven't been this happy in so long. My family life is better my spirituality is stronger and life is good. The program and the people there were just what I needed also Evelyn with her leadership and experience I highly recommend Sonora Behavioral Health. IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT . Thank you all for helping me navigate my recovery. Today I'm a better person and I love it.

He told us to immediately stop all meds previously prescribed and he prescribed a different drug. Within a few days she went downhill and he would not makes changes in dosage or add anything new. When I didn't laugh at his jokes, he would get upset with me. Like he needed affirmation from me that he was funny. (He isn't). At every appt he asks me how my PTSD symptoms are, and offers me more medication which I NEVER want because my ptsd symptoms are well under control. He also argues with me. My usual medication has been out of stock for 4 months now. So I'm trying a new one. He got MAD at me for telling him my meds were out of stock. He said I was wrong. So I told him he could call every pharmacy and ask. He also makes me book monthly appts with him...I only need to go in (by law) every 3 months. At my last appt it went too far. He made inappropriate comments about my body, me being beautiful, and asked if my husband was enough for me. So wrong. On top of the incredibly inappropriate behavior, he clearly has very little knowledge on most mental health issues and I feel could strongly trigger anyone's past trauma. Stay away.
