He and his crew did not perform satisfactorily, so I looked up him up on the Contractor License Board website. Justin Vela, Jr. does NOT have a valid California Contractor License. Justin Vela, Jr. sent me a picture of a truck with purported license #452035. I checked the California Contractor License Board and found that the number corresponds to a roofer in La Mirada that went out of business in 1990. The license number that appears on the invoice sent by Justin Vela, Jr., 0209765 shows "no record" with the State. Pursuant to California Business & Professions Code 7031(b), I requested from Justin Vela, Jr., a full refund due to his unlicensed status. He has yet to pay me. He ignores my texts, phone calls, and emails, thinking I will give up and go away. I will not. Unless he settles with me, I will pursue all lawful remedies to recover my money. A person claiming to own this company called me and disavowed any affiliation with Justin Vela, Jr. However, I obtained from him the purported license number quoted above. This person threatened to call his lawyer. I advised her that I have a law degree and am a retired attorney and that I will not be threatened to bullied by anyone.

Having moved into a house in Sun City Palm Desert in late September, we realized that the very bare back patio needed some serious attention. We met Hector in October and really liked his approach to drawing up a new look for our garden. All we had were several of the usual boxwoods, caesalpinia, and a lime tree. The new image had to be colorful so we approved the 5 yellow trumpet flower bushes because we love the hummingbirds and pollinators so much. Two additional spots would be occupied by two very generous ocotillos, always a favorite. We needed front and back faucets to be upgraded and a regular maintenance team as the spring season requires. We made a date for work to start in early December due to all of our personal commitments. The initial crew worked to rearrange the rocks in the patio area and set up the plantings. They are hard-working and knowledgeable and we appreciated the changes they made. Scheduling is easy with Hector because he responds to messages quickly and he is flexible and understands the importance of the client's needs. This past week the team arrived to prep the ground in the semi-circle of turf and to rearrange the rocks and clean up. We watched them work so hard from early morning to dusk and the results are pretty wonderful!!
