I have been ignored and even giggled at for being silly about my illnesses. I've had to wait after being forgotten in the patient rooms while they went to lunch for over an hour before I went out and they laughingly remembered I was in there. I suffered from blood sepsis, pneumonia, and liver sepsis as well as sever stomach issues and they made one effort to refer me to an office that pushed me back months to see them. When I called Dr. carol for help they never called me back after several messages. So, I made an appointment and paid to ask for help because the GI doctor Kim pushed me back from a two week appointment until December. She said she would call and told me I stress too much and never did. I called the office again only to never be called back. The specialist for GI because I am having severe blood and stomach issues also never called me back and never kept my appointment. Now I am starting from square one. I am a single mother who has faced illness for years and hoped Dr. carol would help but their practice is negligent. I'm in shock and so sick I can barely take care of my 8 year old. If I had the energy I would pursue legally. Shame on you Dr. carol and your fake ass practice.

His broad scope of expertise, humanity, tact, and sense of humor have made a lasting positive impact on my life. Like most of his other patients, I can say without hesitation that I consider him and Peggy to be a part of my extended family. I will never forget receiving an unprompted call from Dr. H late in the evening many years ago after they learned of a sudden health crisis that my parent suffered. Thankfully, my parent's crisis eventually resolved; but that brief check-in from Dr. H touched me deeply. I knew that I was not alone and that he genuinely cared. Unheard of in modern medicine, when you call their office after-hours and connect with the emergency line, the phone rings at Dr. H's house. They trust their patients not to abuse that access; but the small number of times that my family needed it, Peggy and Dr. H were on the other end of the line, providing useful information and reassurance, even at 4AM. My experience as a patient of Dr. H's played no small role in my own journey towards becoming a physician. I often find myself trying to recall one of his totally unique and pithy one-liner jokes when I need to break the ice with a new patient. Family practices like this one are virtually impossible to find these days. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a medical team like Dr. Horowitz and Peggy.

With covid and how things are run differently now, communication is KEY! Peggy sent me all the health forms that needed to be completed in a timely manner via email. She was wonderful at responding to my emails, and she made things so easy! They went out of their way to see me in person in a really short notice as my visit required necessary clearance for my nursing program. They only have certain days for appointments but she made an exception for me as my work schedule conflicted with their in-person office visits. Peggy also sent me my labs on a Saturday as I requested if she could send it to me as soon as they receive it.. they are closed on Saturdays and she did that for me (I am so grateful!). I also want to say that I drove from Monterey Park to Dr. Horowitz's office on a Friday during the time that there is so much traffic (traffic alone in this area if you already know is hideous) but I would do it again! He tried calling the number listed on their ZocDoc page and only reached an answering service -- no help at all. After all of that, Jordan/Jordyn called me and was immediately dismissive and accusatory, insisting there was "no way" any of that could have happened because they'd been sitting there the whole time. There was zero empathy or concern for a new patient's experience, just attitude. My husband and I were both planning to switch here after our previous primary moved out of state. We were given an email address to submit medical documents, and everything was uploaded seamlessly. The receptionist was patient, friendly, and welcoming. Although we noticed the clinic serves many Armenian patients, we never once felt judged or treated differently. We first met with a student nurse practitioner who had a warm demeanor, asked thoughtful questions, and listened carefully while taking detailed notes. It felt thorough and unrushed. When Dr. Manuk Chulyan came in, it was immediately clear he had already reviewed my mom's history. I explained her recent hospitalization and new diagnosis of advanced kidney disease, along with our frustration with prior gaps in care. He was compassionate and attentive, especially toward my mom, who was visibly anxious and overwhelmed. He carefully reviewed her labs, uploaded outside records, and updated medications with great attention to detail. He was receptive to coordinating appropriate follow-up care with specialists and addressing our concerns without hesitation. She is…read morenow located on the 3rd floor at 8767 Wilshire Blvd. After moving to LA from NYC, it was really difficult for me to find a female doctor who belongs to a well respected institution like Cedars Sinai. I've been to a couple of other doctors in Koreatown, but a lot of them did not live up to my standards. Dr. Kim is very professional and highly knowledgeable. She doesn't rush you like some other doctors and takes time to listen to you and thoroughly go over your medical history. She patiently answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. You can tell that she really cares about her patients. I'd also say the check-in procedure was very quick and I barely had to wait, which was nice for me since I had to go back to work. The receptionists were very friendly and they also validate parking! (The parking garage is located on Robertson) The appointment process was also very easy and convenient. I called the number listed on her website and was able to make an appointment that fit my busy work schedule.
