The prescription I mentioned before he eventually completely withdrew off my mother and she has been suffering a relapse for the past 10 weeks! I have made multiple complaints against him and his assistant Nancy to the insurance for their "services" (again note the quotations .) And after all the complaints he has here on yelp regarding attitudes and denial of care from him and his staff, with some even going back a decade and two patients dying under his care , how is he still a doctor ?! REVOKE HIS LICENSE!!! We changed doctors . The problem is , this other one works with him and most likely the same assistants (Nancy) as they have the same suite and phone number and it's the only other doctor besides Kalindjian at that hospital that accepts my mothers insurance ! From the beginning, communication with the front office was very difficult. The receptionist, Maggie, was dismissive and rude over the phone and did not seem interested in hearing my medical concerns to make an appointment. When I asked to speak with Dr. Karen Kim or anyone else who could help, my calls were repeatedly ignored or blocked. I was simply trying to schedule an appointment and receive a referral to see a gynecologist, but every attempt to reach the office left me feeling unheard. I also requested a complete copy of my medical records, but I did not receive the full set of records I asked for. I felt that both Dr. Kim and her staff treated me in an unprofessional manner throughout this process. After filing a formal complaint and submitting another request for my records, I eventually received a dismissal letter stating that the office was "not able to meet my needs or expectations as a patient" and that Dr. Kim would no longer serve as my provider after 30 days. This was especially frustrating because I had been trying to get care, but the front office made scheduling nearly impossible; even after being a patient with her for over 3 years. As a Black woman, I left this practice feeling that my concerns and health needs were not taken seriously. I can only speak about my own experience, but the lack of support, communication, and basic respect made me feel undervalued and ignored. It was disheartening to be brushed off while seeking essential care. I have been informed that there will be an investigation by the Medical Board of California regarding the situation I reported.

Appointments are efficient and respectful of my time. I've never waited more than five minutes, and the Silver Lake location makes it easy with plenty of parking, so I don't have to miss much work. Everyone in the office is welcoming and helpful, which makes the whole experience stress-free. While there is a fair amount of paperwork, it's all handled online through the Spruce app. That means I have my own record of everything discussed in appointments, prescriptions, and care details -- an invaluable tool for keeping track of my care.
