These gents are honest, no-pressure, and ethical. My friends were in a pinch for a quality used car after their Buick's frame cracked on a drive up from Myrtle Beach. They bought a gorgeous Lexus hybrid from Andre, owner of Buffalo Motor Works, and couldn't be happier. (A few of us are actually a little jealous of it!) They were so excited about it, they showed it off to all their extended family! Andre was exceedingly patient with our questions and throughout the whole process. (He also is quite knowledgeable about Buffalo history, he may have another calling as a tour guide!) After our positive experience with Andre, we took our other cars - a BMW & Prius, to Dan. I am not exaggerating when I say Dan saved us hundreds, and probably more, on the repairs. I know this bc I had a quote from another trusted mechanic, and Dan fixed the problem for $260 rather than $1,000+. He also did a fantastic job on the BMW repair (he's a certified BMW master technician I believe), at a fraction of the price it would cost elsewhere. And I'm not talking about a dealer's estimate - he beat the other garages. By a lot. Dan also caught a few non-working lights that the cops in my area love to stop you for, so I'm grateful for that as well. I also need to point out that, as a WOMAN, these guys were equally respectful to me as to a man. Unfortunately we are still in a time when some car dealers and mechanics overcharge women, etc., but not these guys. They also run a more peaceful place than other spaces. You'll see. Well the service isn't exactly what I expected it to be. Initially when I had posted the request…read morefor the work to be done on my truck I wanted both of the front side hub assemblies, 4X4 actuators, upper control arms with ball joints, lower ball joints, outer tie rods, sway bar linkages, pre-assembled strut assemblies and the sway bar bushings replaced in addition to that I also wanted the spark plugs and coil packs replaced. After discussing the information we had decided on $1,200 for all the work that needed to be done. (He originally wanted $2,300 to complete the job but then offered to drop it dramatically if I promised to give him five stars and a good review which I won't lie I took full advantage of, and would have followed through with it had he done a good job but that wasn't the case) I agreed upon half up front and half afterwards. I was told that it would take approximately a day and a half two days to accomplish this. After about a week the suspension was finally done for the most part (he didn't even know what half the parts were that I handed him were for and on top of that he wouldn't put the sway bar bushings on) BUT after that my brake line was broken and he showed up multiple times with inadequate tools he needed for the job, he stated that he had to get additional help. After not completing the job I kind of wondered where he had went. Come to find out that he was arrested and that's why he didn't come back, I had given him a total of $750 before he disappeared. After his incarceration which was approximately a week or so I did not hear from him after that and I had to replace the brake line myself in addition to that I had to finish or I am finishing the spark plugs and Not to mention he had hardly anything for tools or supplies and I had to supply them as well. He isn't very knowledgeable when it comes to the motors not quite sure what he is and isn't capable of but I do know that I've worked on cars for the past 20 years but due to a back condition I can no longer sustain the ability to do so. From his lack of knowledge I would have to say that this guy might be good to change your brakes maybe some light bulbs and that would probably be about it. Anything else that takes the slightest bit of knowledge I would not trust him alone with your vehicle if you wish for it to be done correctly. Also one final bit of information the buddy that he brought along i can't quite remember his name but he was the man that did the majority of the work and was more professional than the guy that is supposedly running this company and apparently he can't work without him glued to his hip as he doesn't seem to know what he's doing. so I guess that's a positive and a negative at the same time. But that concludes the encounter I had with this company. Approach with caution!
