I walked out with nothing after the owner pointed out THREE times the one clothes rack in the facility with " my size on it". Everything in my closet is an XL and I told her that and she rolled her eyes at me. Never once did she inquire who I was there shopping for. There are several shops that have come and gone from that place. It won't be long before she's another one. I could easily afford the clothes she has there and could of referred several people who would of loved a place like that. It was obvious her detain for larger size individuals, and her lack of knowledge about sizes, the girls are Chico's instantly know my size. People with these kind of customer skills never last very long.

I looked for the green awning as instructed, and as I walked in I was greeted immediately by the owner with a cheery message: Hey girl, you look so cool in your outfit! As I started to look around I found my way again to the owner, who introduced herself as Jenny and explained that her store was a hybrid mix of vintage, consignment and new clothes, shoes, jewelry & accessories. The store was bright, colorful and cheery, and every item was carefully curated and displayed to perfection. There were festive, colorful blankets next to hand painted dinnerware, fancy Mexican mirrors and woven purses that decorated the shop with artistry. I perused the racks and found a perfect gently used denim shirt that is similar to my very expensive Ralph Lauren one but in a lighter weight fabric, which I was dreaming of finding - for $24 bucks. Jenny is clearly in her happy place here and wants to share her unique eye for colorful, casual & culture-cool chic, and her enthusiasm is infectious. A wonderful shop to find a gift or something unique for yourself.

I'm a bit shopping-phobic, and Piper in Idyllwild made me feel as comfortable as could be. They carry a really fun, eclectic selection of clothing, and though I didn't find anything to purchase, my partner did; a really pretty, unusual sweater that fit perfectly. When we got said sweater back to where we were staying in Palm Desert, it wasn't until my partner tried it on (and removed the tags, naturally), that we realized it had a hole in the back that would very quickly have unravelled. Fortunately, when we went to the La Quinta shop, we found the same sweater, and were able to swap it out very easily, no questions asked. Great selection, and great service (with a particular shout-out to Piper in Idyllwild!) Thanks for a great shopping experience!

Women and young ladies of all ages were there pouring over the racks, all quite giddily announcing their finds and oohing and aaaahing over each other's selections. The shop's owner was busily taking care of several customers at a time by answering questions or ringing someone up - he never got a break! I used to own a vintage store and being in this shop gave me pangs of fond remembrance of the joy of vintage - both selling and buying. Tourists and locals alike were intermingled going through the racks that had both vintage and some high brand newer pieces in reasonable price points. Nothing too costume-y, just cool girl looks. I highly recommend!

I can tell you, without hesitation, that whatever was stated by Haydn G., is a complete and utter misinterpretation. As a boutique, Insanity understands the business. Marketing? Get's It. Trend Awareness? Ahead. I am not a captive of today's BS. In fact, I do not know the owner(s) at all. But, they are a great store... and they have amazing style and taste.
