I hired The Travis Law Firm for a joint bankruptcy for myself and my wife, which involved an…read moreLLC/business. I was told from the start that they do not handle adversary proceedings (which I fully understood). When an ex-client of mine filed an adversary against me, that's when everything stalled. The adversary cover sheet checked both 523 AND 727 relief, but the complaint itself only asked for 523 and had zero 727 claims in it. Because that 727 box was checked in error, the court would not enter our discharge. I BEGGED my attorney to help fix this simple cover sheet error so we could get our discharge - which is literally what I hired her for. She blatantly refused to help. She would not send a simple clarification email, even after I had another attorney with 20+ years of bankruptcy experience point out the error. I have the email where she refused. The result: I was left completely high and dry with no discharge. I had to go hire a second attorney and pay over $2,000 out of pocket for a substitution of attorney, a motion to compel abandonment on my property, and to FINALLY get me and my wife our discharge almost a YEAR later. I paid this firm to get me a discharge and I did not get a discharge from them. Communication was terrible and once things got complicated, I felt totally abandoned. My experience: if you have a straightforward personal bankruptcy you might be fine, but if you have a corporation or LLC or any chance of an adversary, stay far away. I would never use them again.
