What made that day even more meaningful was the extraordinary compassion, professionalism, and heartfelt care we received from the Labor and Delivery team. Words can hardly express how deeply grateful our family is for the kindness and dedication shown to us during such an important moment in our lives. Norma, Chelsea, and Emi cared for us with such warmth, reassurance, and skill that we immediately felt safe and supported. Their calm presence, constant encouragement, and genuine concern for our well-being turned what could have been a stressful experience into one filled with confidence and peace. We are also incredibly thankful to Dr. Brooks, whose professionalism and medical expertise guided us through the delivery with remarkable care and precision. Our appreciation continues for the post-delivery team--Sydnee, Helene, Carrey, Suzuki, and Jessica--who helped us through recovery with patience, attentiveness, and heartfelt compassion. They treated us not just as patients, but as a family welcoming a new life into the world, and that kindness will never be forgotten. We are also deeply grateful to the pediatric team, especially Dr. Lank, for the gentle and professional care given to our newborn. And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank our OB physician, Dr. Mozayeni, whose guidance, reassurance, and unwavering support throughout this entire journey meant more to us than we can ever fully express. This hospital is far more than a medical institution--it is a place where compassion, dedication, and human connection truly come alive. Because of each of you, the day our daughter was born became not only the greatest day of our lives, but also one filled with trust, comfort, and gratitude that our family will carry forever.

I couldn't be happier with them. Very grateful for them, very knowledgeable and patient with us! The Recovery/Discharge Nurses Vivian and Sarbrena were also amazing. Very caring and loving with us. Sabrina made a nice cocktail (hahaha) for my wife, I tried it, sooo good! They have so many waiting areas and food areas, lots of options. The cafeteria in the basement was nice too. Good variety of food. The hospital is very clean, well maintained, and spacious and modern. Extremely happy with our experience here!

One of the nurses who cared for me had 25 years of experience. As a first-time mom, I truly appreciated her expertise. Because of her decisions and support, my labor lasted only 30 minutes. Everything I wanted during labor was respected, and the staff did their best to accommodate my wishes. The postpartum care was excellent as well. They gave me a bag full of postpartum supplies to take home, which was very helpful. The only thing I was expecting more from was the food. I had heard great things about the food at Hoag, but I found it to be just okay. The only concern is a billing issue that we are currently trying to figure out because of some unexpected charges. My experience at Hoag was smooth, pleasant, and very positive. I am grateful to all the nurses and staff for making the birth of my first baby such a wonderful experience

For example, if your physician determines that the total time spent on your care is between 45 and 59 minutes, the visit may be billed at a higher evaluation and management level. The reported time can include not only your face-to-face appointment, but also time spent reviewing your medical records before the visit and completing documentation afterward. Hoag's recommendation: To check before your appointment, you may want to check with your insurance provider and Hoag's billing department to understand your potential out-of-pocket costs.

As a medical professional of 28 years, I understand the difference in personality and opinions that doctors can have. Dr Eng was positively awful. He was cocky, arrogant and condescending. He made little eye contact, was defensive and his bedside manner was non existent. His unprofessionalism in critiquing his colleague was beyond off putting. He lacked compassion and the ability to listen and understand. I fully understand that doctors have different personalities, opinions and styles, but I am so unsettled by him. It was a waste of the copay. I am just shocked that Hoag would employ a person of this demeanor . This is a time where I wished AI would have scribed the visit. I would love for a colleague to review. He appears very inexperienced and green in medicine. It will take a lot to make him a successful physician. UPDATE( 2 weeks later)...no follow up from office manager when requested. I guess this is just standard practice there. Had second opinion at other major medical center and was told that upon review of my MRI, they were shocked at the lack of advice that was given to me by Michael Eng,MD.

You come here n get out alive unlike some other hospital you'll end up in the morgue! This hospital is the equivalent Cedar Sinai of Orange County. Come back to read my review of Orange Coast hospital, I'm still mad as hell they put me through an unnecessary abdominal surgery, it was the mistake of my life to go there as I thought I was having appendicitis, choosing the right hospital is so important, I switched to Hoag n paid a higher premium but how much is your life worth? My sister died recently bc of the lousy treatment she got at 2 other hospitals in OC but she had Medical n had no choice. When I 1st join Hoag I took my husband in n was shocked the ER was packed we waited in such a long line, i asked n looked into it as i refused to believe these people would pay over $1,000 premium a month for this plan, as it turned out under Obamacare they were forced to take welfare recipients (or lose Medicare) on top of partnering w so many bad hospitals. A few years ago I guess under Trump, Hoag was unshackled they got rid of mediocrity n back to meritocracy. The hospital is back to being a 5 stars hotel, the ER was staffed w amazing doctors n nurses, everybody was so wonderful n caring, you get what you pay for, my eldest sister paid nothing in Paris, socialized medicine n she paid for it w her life at the age of 28. I feel blessed belonging to a place the 1% get treatment! So you know what to do to preserve our excellent health care.

ZERO STARS - DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILD HERE IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER OPTION!!!!!…read more My minor child was brought to this ER in an active mental health crisis for medical clearance prior to psychiatric transfer. I made it explicitly clear that I was available by phone at all times and expected to be contacted as his parent and legal decision-maker. Instead, I was excluded. After being transferred out, my son reported the following: He repeatedly asked to call me and was denied. A male nurse then told him that he had already spoken to me and that I was "very disappointed in him." That statement is FALSE AND WAS CLEARLY INTENDED TO EMOTIONALLY HARM AND FURTHER DESTABILIZE A MINOR IN DEEP DISTRESS! At no point did I speak to any nurse conveying that message. No one had permission to speak on my behalf, and no one had the authority to fabricate statements and attribute them to me. This was not a misunderstanding. A staff member knowingly made a false and unauthorized statement to a minor patient, falsely attributing it to the child's parent, thereby interfering with parent-child communication and introducing emotionally harmful, fabricated information during a psychiatric crisis. This conduct directly impacted the course of my child's care and the result was immediate and predictable. My son--already dysregulated--was emotionally destabilized by being told his parent was disappointed in him during a moment of acute vulnerability. He became significantly more distressed and was then medicated/rendered unconscious for several hours. Read that again: He was denied access to his parent given false information attributed to that parent became emotionally destabilized and was then medicated. That escalation was not clinically inevitable--it was precipitated by staff conduct. To make matters worse, I was informed only that my son had become dysregulated requiring medical intervention, but I was not told why. That omission withheld material information from a legal guardian and prevented informed participation in my child's care. This conduct raises substantial concerns under California law, including but not limited to: * California Health & Safety Code §§ 123110 & 123115 -- interference with a parent/guardian's involvement and access to a minor's care * 22 CCR § 70707 (Patients' Rights) -- right to respectful care and freedom from mental abuse or deceptive practices * Welfare & Institutions Code § 5325.1 -- right to dignity, communication, and protection from harm while receiving mental health services A minor in psychiatric crisis was: denied access to his parent given false, emotionally harmful information attributed to that parent and further destabilized during a medical emergency. That is the opposite of trauma-informed care. It reflects a failure of basic patient rights, judgment, and professional responsibility. There is no justification for staff fabricating statements, impersonating a parent's position, and using that fabrication in the management of a child in psychiatric crisis. If you have any choice at all, take your child somewhere equipped to provide appropriate pediatric mental health care--where communication with parents is not obstructed, and where children in crisis are treated with stability, truth, and support. CHOC is the best hospital for children. Not this place. This matter is being escalated through formal regulatory and oversight channels. Your staff took a vulnerable child in crisis, made that situation worse, and then drugged my child as a result of him becoming distressed by their false statement. That's some DEMENTED, SADISTIC, JEFFREY EPSTEIN-LEVEL, DISGUSTING, MANIPULATIVE, MENTAL ABUSE!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!

I asked for the manager and I said "do you see a problem here?" and manager says " no I have no idea about any problem " and I said "how about the long line why don't you hire more people to staff the store to increase your customer satisfaction? " I said it was unacceptable and he just shook his head and smiled at me. I miss the Rite Aid stores. The service was better. CVS is cheap on investing in the proper labor. Before waiting in line for checkout with the cashier, I tried the automated checkout. I was actually trying to give CVS more business, and I had more purchases than would fit on their tiny little automated checkout counter. The cheap paper bags fell on the floor and broke so I said " I don't want all of these things. I just have to buy one medical supply for my daughter" that put me in the 20 line purgatory behind all the people. All the manager could say is why don't you use our automated checkout? I tried to explain to him why the automated checkout did not work mind you I have a computer science degree this is not user error. This is incompetence understaffing, and no understanding of customer satisfaction.
