As a way to cut down costs, I purchased all of the tile ahead of time and all the appropriate backer board, and I demolished the wood step by the tub and removed all the carpet, nails, staples, linoleum flooring and glue. Tom let me know what he would charge and he stuck firmly with that bid, from start to finish. He was very professional, easy to work with and communicated when he would be on site to work. I would highly recommend Tom to install any tile job you need. He works well and helped me install my toilet back into place and install all new trim after the tile was completed. Straight Line kept me well-informed with frequent communication. The site crew was on-time, and very respectful of our property, including being cognizant of our new concrete driveway (ensuring the heavy concrete truck was always parked on the street to prevent damage to the driveway -- much appreciated!). Once the crew was on-site, however, I learned that this was not the regular Shotcrete crew chief (he was helping the regular person since he was so busy) and at least one of the crew had never done it and appeared uncertain about his job. When I inspected the completed job with Emory, the crew chief, I observed that the application still had multiple, deep gouges all along the surface and the sides were extremely rough. I asked him to at least level the top ("might be too late since it dries fast"). He did so but it was not smooth and many gouges remained. Now, after several weeks, I'm noticing that the gouges have pebbles that easily pull away. Although I didn't really know what to expect with the final product, I would have wanted all surfaces to be completely leveled so they were smooth. Doesn't seem like that would have been difficult. As I said before, the process leading up to the job was exceptional and every employee was pleasant and respectful but I am slightly disappointed in the quality of the final result. I believe it will hold up over time but it isn't as well done as I had expected.

I disclose my price as an example of how cost effective MOONLIGHT cleaning is. Those machines at the grocery store are $30+ to rent and you purchase all the solution you need and the labor/your time. Plus the secret to really clean carpet is "heat". The water used to clean must be HOT. And the extraction of the water must be great, otherwise you leave excess water, not good. I'm a clean person too, but with two dogs and myself, I'm amazed at the amount of dirt that is removed. Bottom line, you won't be disappointed!

My husband dealt with the company directly, but I can tell you that the man he spoke to was the owner, who has been in the business over 20 years. He quoted us a fair price, and they even pick up and deliver the rug to you when its ready. I was here when they dropped it off, and it was amazing! They brought it in all wrapped tightly in plastic and got on their hands and knees to unroll and place it for us. It was seriously gorgeous, and best of all, not only cleaned, but SANITIZED. The colors absolutely burst and it smelled so good. I am aware that this kind of service isn't your everyday thing, but I highly recommend if you're going to trust someone with expensive rugs, its these guys!
