What a treasure we found today! We had a sub-par lunch at a diner close by and then stumbled on the chocolate shop. What a beautiful ending to a horrible meal! The smell of exquisite chocolate greeted us along with a friendly hello from one of the owners as we came through the door. Then he offered us each a sample of their sipping chocolate, which was divine! We bought some delectable chocolates to sustain us on our drive back to Portland, along with some sipping chocolate for my girls and a mocha for me. A little spendy, but seriously worth every penny!! There is no doubt we will be back. Almost worth the drive from Portland just for that! This is a must not miss stop if you are ever in the area. read more

What a Pendleton gem! You MUST get the drinkable chocolate with espresso...to die for.

I had probably the best espresso mocha ever yesterday. On a friend's recommendation I drove the 20 miles to Pendleton to try some chocolate. The aroma of the coffee lured me away from the chocolate and I was in heaven from the first sip. It's a spendy 4 oz at $5, but a wonderful treat when you need it. read more

These guys know there stuff. We stopped in this store after taking the underground tour because we could get a discount with our ticket. Having enjoyed many milk shakes across the nation, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the sign out front claiming to have the 'world's best' milk shake. I visited this shop while in Pendleton. I purchased chocolate gifs for my wife and kids. The salted caramels are PERFECT and the chocolate sheriff badges ensure that all ages have something to appreciate. I wish I had time to try their homemade CANNOLI and GELATO!!! FABULOUS!!! This shop offers a wonderful chocolate experience to the chocolate lover. I have enjoyed many of their truffles and I can honestly say that I will no longer be satisfied with the chocolate I was buying before. The quality is amazing and the variety of ways to experience it go beyond just truffles. Chocolate pastries, drinking chocolate, chocolate covered almonds to name a few and if you want to take your coffee drink to a whole new level Alexander's is the place to go. Holy mother of chocolate. In all my travels, I've never set foot in a chocolate shop like this one. There are so many incredible options, from the chocolate made on site to the fantastic sipping chocolate to the numerous imported chocolates. You could spend hours here just looking! Do NOT by any means miss this wonderful shop when you're in Pendleton! If you've never tasted single origin chocolate, this is the place to come. They have lots of samples plus a sipping chocolate that is to die for. If that wasn't enough, they bake wonderful cookies and scones in house. This is such a cute, original shop. Cases and shelves full of fun and original chocolate from all over the world. We went in for ice cream since it's 95 degrees outside. The owner was so great to our family, made sure we were all happy with our choices. The ice cream was delicious!! read more

I appeared at their storefront, bedraggled and wet from the summer rain that pummeled downtown Pendleton at the Farmers Market on Friday afternoon (May 23). I had finished my shopping and saw... chocolate! I walked into a warm and inviting room with friendly owners and shop attendants who offered me a tasting of the drinking chocolate, as well as samples of the most wonderful dark chocolates. For a chocoholic like myself, I thought I was one step away from heaven in this place. I bought some Coucher du Soleil (72% dark chocolate) and also their version of a mocha latte that was a Nespresso/drinking chocolate combination. I drove back home to the Tri-Cities with warm insides and a better attitude, and a vow to return to Pendleton soon for another chocolate experience! I highly recommend this shop for anyone who appreciates European and American chocolates (what I'd consider the "real thing" -- not what you get in the supermarkets which is basically, um, not very good). Love this little shop. Was greeted with a sample of their amazing hot chocolate as soon as we walked in. He went through the different chocolates with us describing the flavors and ingredients. We walked out with a custom box of chocolates that are amazing! This place is too good for Pendleton. read more
